  1. http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_bov_mod.html
  2. Increasing the size of the bypass hole will cause less vac on the back side of the piston and also enable higher boost to be held. But cause more leakage....
  3. I have tried both mods. The screw mod causes surge at part throttle and increases boost up time from part throttle to full throttle(due to no air being bleed through at part throttle opening). Also actually holds less boost than standard due to more vacuum being present on the back of the BOV piston. The Dodge site mod causes slight surge at part throttle, holds up to 30psi boost due to less pressure difference between both piston sides. Also increases part throttle to full throttle boost up time.
  4. I have done both mods listed here. Screw: positives - different sound, negatives- causes surge at part throttle, reduces boost ramp speed from part throttle to full throttle, actually holds less boost due to more vacuum present on back of BOV piston. Dodge mod: positives- diferent sound, holds up to 30psi due to less pressure difference between both piston sides. negatives- causes slight surge at part throttle and reduces part throttle to full throotle boost up time.
  5. B-man: No prob, I'll be there at 9:15ish.
  6. kewl, I doubt I will make dinner tho, what time is the cruise starting? and were is chatty....Chatswood Shopping Center ?
  7. Is this cruise open to newbie's.....well to Sydney anyway. I have the removals truck during the day but should be free in the late evening
  8. ok, just took the time to read more than the first page =) disregard my last
  9. Hey guys, I would be interested in coming down for a look only. Haven't had much luck drifting on Nitto's =) I few people mentioned Eastern Creek, but, I'm still not sure if that's were it is or what time.....B-man?
  10. In Adelaide we have had police defect 20 odd cars in a yard. It was common practice to leave the cars uncomplied and in "un-road worthy condition"
  11. This long weekend is a double demerit point weekend for NSW not sure about SA. Take Care guys.
  12. yes that was me B-man, sorry didn't click for me either. I will jump on the NSW thread and check some of the up coming events. You will have to introduce me to the ways of the East. Steve: Moving into my new place next week. I have enough room for you if you ever decide to come across. The drive over was pretty unexcitng for me doin the speed limit and all. I must say tho my engine feels fantastic now it's cover over 4000k's. UAS have a great Dyno setup with up to six indivdual detonation sensors. The guys offered me the office space above to live ,but , I had to decline. Shan is coming up to visit in a couple of weeks. I don't think she would like living there to much if she decides to stay =) would have some advatages tho. Dean: Sydney is treating me well. There is ten times the stuff to trade, sell and buy. I'm not the only one down here with a VG30 hybrid. You name it, you got it. I love it.
  13. Been down to Unique Autosports. They have seen 330rwkw with the standard injectors and an Adjustable Fuel reg. Funny how people do things totally different from state to state. In SA I was told not to bother as anything over 260rwkw is not achievable with a fuel reg. Hopefully it will be tuned for Uniques next track day =) Yip Yar
  14. Guess who is going to Summernats....YIP YAR. Who is comin !? Cowboyb, you missed out. was alittle (read alot) on the taily side before I got my Nitto's.
  15. Cheers guys, almost there! In Wagga Wagga atm. will check em out on the wend.
  16. 9k, Yes the main reason I went for the OS pistons was from what I have learnt regarding piston expansion under temp. The pistons I bought were of the low silicon type (OS sell both types). I can't remember the exact number of grade. They were $2700 compared to $1800 for the lower grade. I can confirm they indeed have absolutely no piston slap when cold. As I said to Matt(whatshisname) they had to be modifed and then rebalanced to allow clearance for the oil squirters, glad I didn't pay full price.
  17. Hey all, I am moving to Sydney tomorrow and am after some advice on were to have my car tuned. It has just been rebuilt and am expecting 300+kw. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
  18. have done 2500 and will have 4000 before anymore tuning which will be next week =)
  19. Hey matt, the pistons did have to machined to clear the oil squirters.... which should have already been done. Took extra time having to be machined and re-balanced. Know that they are in all my worries have gone. There is absolutely no piston slap when cold, my catch can has almost no oil since the first start-up and now I`ve travelled 2200km's. I did a compression test and found dead even across the lot. Only slight hick up was a oil leak which turned out to be coming from the half moon seal at the rear of the valve cover. I removed the pistons with the block still in the car. Very easy for anyone wondering.
  20. Here is the link http://www.pbase.com/booostd/rebuild not all are there as yet, I will be back on during the new year. Also will load the photo's of the latest turbo mods. Surge has been totally eliminated now and am expecting 300+rwkw.
  21. Haha. Cheers Hippy. They are for looks more than anything. the lip is perspex with carbon fibre look film. Would probably snap with any decent pressure. A real 400R wing is a little out of the value for money side of things for me
  22. Our SA threads go down hill so fast... lol
  23. exactly how the adjustable cam gear works. Can't have the best of both worlds. I might try -6degrees if my turb is laggy. Did that setting loose you much up top ?
  24. It's always a yes for you dean
