  1. For those sort of dollars, dont do it. But the reason id at least do something about it is that the whole motorcycle license course is designed to make you aware of your surroundings and ride in accordingly. Well thats what ive gotten from it so far anyway! So if some dickhead/policeman is pushing the limits of your safety so they can write up another ticket id at the very least write to the ombudsman saying you rode how you were trained etc (or similar)
  2. Speak to Snowman, he put an R33 box in his R34 - i think it was due to better ratios for skidpan work, but doesnt hurt to check
  3. Non turbo supras are slower than a non turbo mx5. I know this for a fact, and with that said am VERY glad my supra is twin turbo Stay away from a wrecked one
  4. lol Yeah i know its a lucky thing these Superlap guys have an extra class to fill Most of these RB26's ive accumulated will be on the market soon - need the space for more RB30's. I dont understand where you store all your stuff, im struggling and im sure you have more parts than i do It will be running, ive got rebuilds sorted out now Just short of skill now, id like to attend a John Boston instructed day actually - have done a skidpan day at OP with him it was a blast! It was organised through driver dynamics BB are you going to enter?
  5. We have to wait and see from Nathan From memory last time they just checked for helmet approval stickers. I dont see why a harness has to be approved, look at the amount of cars that do open days (and giving their cars 110%) that just use a non approved one. Mine was approved back in the day but its expired, that doesnt stop it from working though
  6. Ill take the lip and also do you have the tweezer thingys you use to pull fuses out with? It lives in the fuse box near your right knee when sitting in the drivers seat PM me whens good to come around
  7. Didnt yours need a rebuild?
  8. From memory you'd be in clubsprint Open was $450 per entry last time and clubsprint (correct me if im wrong here anyone) was $250)
  9. Paul Id rather not be in Opens after all the discussion of a hybrid class last round, but if its the only category i'm eligible for.... My car doesnt qualify for opens though if these two points will be enforced; # FIA Approved Drivers Seat # FIA Approved 4 Point Harness minimum Its got standard seats (cause ive put on some kilo's in the last year or so and they're comfy) and has a non-FIA-approved 3 point harness which so far has done a fantastic job. If it comes down to having to buy a new seat and harness, then ill just watch. Ill wait and see what Nathan has to say
  10. Both myself and my wallet agree with you. At least im getting rebuilds at a decent price now This one has different clearances and a lot more boost though, so it will be interesting to see how it goes. 500hp atw should be a walk in the park for it.
  11. Fair enough How much are the other options?
  12. So im trying to figure out where an RB30 GTR would be.....other than open it looks like nowhere. Nathan, there wont be any provisions for street cars with engine swaps?
  13. I never said the pump failed, the pump is perfect. The crank was fu(ked but the pump is perfect. Should be running it in again this weekend or next weekend just waiting on a couple of small bits to be painted and returned. Its the usual case of people saying they'll do something, then not doing it on time.
  14. Thats what I was led to believe (amongst other outright bullsh!t) but after pulling the motor out it was actually oil surge and oil temps that killed it. Been fixed now. Moral of the story is to not go to track days with only baffles, they're not enough if you have a half serious oil pump. Stan what oil pump are you using? *crosses fingers, eyes, arms and legs*
  15. Spewing i missed this! Nice action shot of the R31 coming onto the straight
  16. You've just reminded me of something that will work! Ive called anyway, will see what they have to say incase anyone drops out
  17. Dave have you seen if there's a "garage reserve" list? If not we should get on it
  18. Shame they're all sold out! So ill enter, but where can you park between driving events? From memory the place just gets packed out Ill start asking around and see how many can make it
  19. You've sold me mate. Im in! The website says the garages etc are all booked out - anyone got a spare one or two? The guys at work are pretty keen aswel, there's some crazy powered cars here.
  20. Oooooooh could be a goer for me, dont know if my car will be competitive though
  21. If anyone should contest it, you should.
  22. Looks like the 32 has won, again
  23. Hahaha That seriously made me laugh - this really is your first GTR isnt it! Im not having a shot at you, its just so funny to see a comment like that after owning an R32 GTR. Finding parts for them has never been a case of going to a nissan dealer and just picking the part up. The dealers service/parts people hardly ever know what you're talking about (they know the car, but nothing about mechanicals/motor/electrics etc), most of the time we have to supply part numbers for them using copies of their own software (in comparison to my holden where i just name the part and they know the part number/availability/price straight away, im getting the feeling this is the sort of service you're expecting?), then once they do a search and find there's no parts in the country (suprise suprise), they'll quote between 4-12 weeks from Japan depending on what part it is. Of course we cant forget the unpleasant matter of the bill - Nissan aust prices are just a joke. So far i havnt found one part thats cheaper or faster to be delivered from nissan aust than from all the way over in japan There's only 4 parts that in my time as a GTR owner a nissan dealer had in stock; N1 water pump, N1 oil pump, N1 blocks, radiator support rubbers. The thing is though, those 4 parts (like everything else you would have to replace/repair etc on the car) were always cheaper through our forum sponsors or generic websites like nengun/rhdjapan/perfectrun etc, and other than the 4 parts listed above, than a nissan dealer. So unless you were feeling lazy or didnt mind paying a bit more nissan was, and still is not the place to get spares for any GTR from R32 - R34. Maybe they'll get it right and have the same prices as overseas this time, i know they have to carry certain parts in stock after selling a car new on Australia for a certain amount of years (10 from memory, but may be wrong) so lets hope they dont plan to take advantage of the naive new GTR buyers who arent aware of how all the other GTR owners before them got their hot little hands on much needed parts at non ripoff prices
