Hi guys, I've finally got my hands on the video footage from the track day. Sorry it's taken so long, but I've been busy the last couple of weeks! The DVD is 36 mins in total. There is footage of MOST cars racing from a few different vantage points (first corner, straight and last corner). There is also a little bit of footage of the cruise down there on the highway. I apologise in advance for the amount of attention on my car (they were my designated camera crew for the day!). If you would like a copy of the DVD, please email me your address details and I'll send one out! To cover costs I'll just charge $5 per DVD. _____________________________________________________ Also by request only I'll throw in a CD with the hi-res versions of all of the photos on my site for no extra charge... http://sau.batesy.com I'll only include the CD if you ask for it, so please make sure you mention it in your email if you want a copy of the pics! BANK DETAILS Account: 36612391 BSB: 112-879 Bank: StGeorge Reference: SAU Username EMAIL ADDRESS jon at batesy dot com Cheers!

Fast Fours Online Petition
Primordial replied to Fast Fours Petition's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I've signed your petition simply because you seem to be so passionate about it, and it's only worth a minute of my time. Quite frankly though I couldn't give two shits about the mag, simply because it's been crap for years, and I gave up on it a long long time ago! Good luck! -

Lenso Rs5 For Sale
Primordial replied to lineRz's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
sorry just confirming Alicia - The wheels are all 17 x 7"? Did they come off a GTS-T? -
Great! Yeah I would love to see it Jess. The more ideas the better. Ill be at the photo shoot! I was only worried with the fact that I've got chunky sparco seats that might block the view a bit. But i guess you would have the same thing with the GTR seats, so if you think it's the way to go it sounds like a good idea! I'll flag you down at the shoot

ok guys ive got half of my camera mounting system sorted. I've decided to stick with the bar across the "Holy cow" handles in the back seat. I'm getting one fabricated out of 1in chome moly tube. For people who arent familiar with it, it's REALLY strong and rigid (good for stopping camera wobble), very light and fairly cheap. As for mounting the camera to the bar, I've go some of these camera mounting gizmo's from http://www.gpsoz.com.au/ram.htm. They're a ball/mount type system that is adjustable through just about any direction you can think of and they are completely rigid when tightened up.. Like rigid to the point that I almost broke the camera before I could even move the joint when it's tightened up, and the joint still didnt move at all! They are seriously strong.. All up the bits cost me $60, but retail is $77 for what's pictured below. You can get them for heaps cheaper if you order from the US too.. The good thing about these is the amount of range of movement you can get. You can have it sitting further back looking forward at the road, or have the camera just peering over your shoulder so it can see the dash too.. Thats the only reason I went away from the static bar idea. no adjustment for the camera angles! Pics.. Dissembled components: Assembled components: Attached to camera: Range of movement: Attach to your bar like this: I'll post up some pics once I've gotten the chrome moly bar made up that you can mount the bracket to.. I expect the bar to cost about $100 to get fabricated, so total outlay for the camera mount will be about $160..

Yep! I hear it increases FWKW from 60kw to 60.2kw! (Heat shielded of course!)
-
Just be careful when signing anything.. Make sure that this R32 GTS-T that he is delivering isnt in fact the GTR you're waiting for legally. ie. dont sign anything that says that you have received a car!!!
-
I hear that Nengun are selling the Apexi Hi-Flow flares now too.. they say it gives you an extra 20rwkw all the way through the rev range!
-
I hear they're giving them away for free now!! I'm gonna head down there and grab as many as I can for everyone ok?

Weight Of Standard R33 Wheels
Primordial replied to Primordial's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
lol.. I asked already but the doctors said it was too risky. But on a serious note, thats not a bad idea. I might see if I can find some. One of the guys at Tempe said he could probably find some nuts that would work well with my old wheels, but I was in a rush so didnt enquire further. I might give them a call actually. Thanks for the suggestion Richard.. I completely forgot about the Tempe guy till you said that! -
Put me down as a maybe Paul. I might come along if I can source some wheels/semis by then!
-
You read my mind! I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing when I saw that.. I've got sparco's in my car and they would still wobble enough to make it really annoying to watch on video... I might give it a go though... It's only $15 worth of aluminium and bolts. It may just work?

More driving hours does make you better at driving. In the first 1000 hours or so of driving you CONSTANTLY adapt to new situations on the road! There is no way to handle these sort of situations without experiencing them, or preparing yourself for the limitations of the vehicle. Maturity is the key though. People who mature faster will generally be less inclined to take risks on the road. It's as simple as that. How you teach that - I have no idea. Maybe showing ultra grusome car wreck videos at school or someting? I dont know nor care - except for the fact that these kids are ruining it for the rest of us. All respect for the family of these kids, but it's not our job to sit here and chin-stroke about how to stop it happening! You drive like a wanker - you die!

Electronic Seat Belt Thing!?
Primordial replied to thorpe84's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Here's another interesting one for you -- When I open my driver side door after driving for any period of time, I hear a thumping sound from around the seatbelt area. It sounds like a seatbelt tightening system going off because I feel a slight pull through the seatbelt!!? Very weird... Any ides? -
Id say lose them, but it may make the intercooler area look a little tall (eg. S1 R33 stock bars cut out, or R32 GTS-T stock bars cut out)... One of the photoshop gurus should be able to edit something up to give you a real comparison. Maybe ask around in the photography section? - Jon

Yeah i can possibly testament to this. I had to have my afm replaced a short time ago, and my afn/pod is loose. Not sure whether it was due to the pod flopping around or that my stocker couldnt handle to increased flow.. it just simply wasnt working properly...

Weight Of Standard R33 Wheels
Primordial replied to Primordial's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Awesome.. Thanks for the input guys. My 17" dished chrome wheels i had before are 18kg with tyres (tyre place said they are fairly light for their size though). My new 18's are HEAVY - like 27kg odd with tyres, and I can feel the difference.. hence why im looking for relatively light wheels. I cant use my old wheels because every time they are taken off the car a wheel stud or wheel nut gets stripped when putting them back on! The design of the wheel is f**ked and grabs the wheel nut unfortunately Its a shame cos they would be good track wheels. anyway, i think ill just get some el-cheapo stockies and leave it at that, unless anyone wants to sell some cheap Enkei's? (trawling the for sale threads ) -
