Felt this is apt here, If you remember Luke's line that is, yes I am joking but it fits. Anyway, I get what you're saying, that was a key difference and what pushed me from my 65kg days to my low 90s days, I HAD to get there because being skinny was no longer an option and I did it faster than my friends because I was dedicated and worked harder at it. I don't have that same motivation these days as I often find myself asking, why am I doing this when I could be working on the car, spending time with Kate/Ella, socialising etc etc. It's something I want, more reps, more definition (DEFINITELY more legs but that's on hold) but not something that HAVE to achieve, plus I've had so many failures now that I'm fairly unphased when it happens (so long as I'm safe) where as before I was terrified of failure and not making a rep, it was a real concern for me. Legs probably matter more to me these days as I've come to realise how weak they are and that's awakened that same skinny kid in me so to speak.

Shoulder is already feeling less tender, it was just an over extension strain at the bottom of a row rep. So what's the next step then out of curiosity? another week off and come back at it again? Is it better that I go for the 9th rep if I've barely made the 8th, knowing that it takes a good 30+ seconds to reset the bar.

Been a little while since I updated. I had a go over the last week at a Rev training method for the Bench, as I've said before I've run out of plates and room on the bar for more weight so 116 is the most I can get on it. Monday of last week I did a very light warmup set then did 8 reps, short break, another, short break and another, slightly longer break and another working up to 12 reps total. I then took a full week off benching with the expectation that I might be able to do more than 8 continuous reps next week, which I didn't but I continued to do reps up til 18 total and perhaps most surprising for me was that I didn't go backwards as I'd normally expect to be weaker after a full weak off. Rev can comment on this if he likes as I think I misunderstood that the point would be more reps, what I want, but the actual point was to start teaching me how to mentally break a plateau and deal with failure. As my hammy is still stuffed (going to Myo about it again today) I've just been doing chins, rows and dips. Twinged something on the top of my left shoulder last night with the rows trying to be strict, still a touch tender today but I don't expect it to be a big issue. Decided to do some lower rep heavier chins and dips and managed 6-5-4 at 30kg on the chins and 6-4-3 at 40kg on the dips. Been walking 2-3ks each day also.

Order is already locked in and paid for. Cream walls and door, slate gray roof (insulated) as that's what matches the house. I may insulate the walls yet. Slan will be helicoptered I think it was, slightly oil resident but not too slippery. -

Ignoring my PM rev? -
So the awesomeness continues. Removed the old spigot and installed the new one, all good on that front, clutch aligning tool fits no worries so didn't lip this one. I noticed the old one had a notable mark on the outside of it, dunno if it was scored during install or it managed to spin inside the end of the end of the crank, I wouldn't think that was possible. Anyway the new one looked in better condition. This is the old bearing, flash on and off so you can see the mark. After finishing that, I moved on to cleaning the old grease off things ready for proper lithium grease, during the process I noticed that the thrust bearing didn't look like it was sitting square on the carrier, when checked with a level it looked low on one side, so I wondered if this was the cause of the rattle, or at least contributing. Naturally, while trying to square it up I damaged the carrier. Good luck getting one of those around here tomorrow (as I wanted to finish this job off this weekend). So I might as well get a new OEM full faced thrust bearing also and rule that out as well. Anyone know if the SR and CA carriers are the same? I only found one thread with Taark saying they are different part numbers but they look identical.

Can't go back to that universe now, I've moved on to Mass Effect and need to stay focused, so much shit to remember 0_0

Father daughter yes, plus it was one of the things they talked about doing after the trip I think, going to the Zoo. Joel says so is it everything you thought it would be or something to that effect. I think the story grabbed me for a few reasons. I have a slight fear of situations like that, outbreak, societal break down and how I'd survive, protect my family etc. Plus I'm a new father (4mths) so the daughter card grabbed me. Intentional casting really, as the saying daddies girl and mummies boy exist for a reason in terms of the bonds parents have across the genders.

Pullup Progress And Improvement Thread.

That's my issue, I'm more legs than torso so the torque through the joints is pretty high, and when you sit all day for work and are already weak legged, it's a hard slog to improve All good though. Play the hand you're dealt. -
I just got an SMS from Brad asking how I was getting on with the cage install since our discussion. I mentioned that he should take a look at this thread and use some of the feedback as motivation to tidy up loose ends and smash out some quality work.

Leesh! Awesome!

And oddly, when talking to SRS13 on the phone, I was still very much in two minds about whether he should take his car there. It looks like that's going well, which is great. As I mentioned before, I'm not out to defame Brad or cause issues, but I've put a lot into SAU over the years from tutorials to assistance for the new import owners (much like what was given to me when I first started out) and I honestly feel like there's some duty to honestly share what's gone on so that others may, at the very least, make an informed decision. Trying to think about it from Brad's perspective, I'd be inclined not to respond to any of this, as I watched how the PF thread unfolded so there's little to be gained by him in addressing it directly, rather I'd get absolutely stuck into my work and let satisfied customers be my response. If he did that, I can see public sentiment being swayed quite easily.

Powerful scene though.

OK I've sat back for quite a while watching this thread, but will now put in my 2 cents. Well $2.50 really as there's a lot to go over. Brad was very helpful when I posted my thread about wanting a basic cages a while back, you can see it in the motorsport section. He also came highly recommended by SAU. After comparing his offering to many other basic half cages, his appeared superior and by ordering two (another member wanted one also) we'd get free freight. I was told it'd be a few weeks turn around top. We paid up front and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. I'm fairly active on the forums and I tend to be proactive about these things so I started calling, PM'ing and emailing. I started receiving a number of explanations for the delay and assurances that it would be done soon. Some of the excuses were very personal in nature so I won't share them in case any of them are true. I phrase the above as such because after months and months of delays and excuses, in the end it took over 4mths to get the two cages (more on that below), I started calling people around Brad who could confirm/deny the claims he was making as reason for delay because I had a strong sensation of being lied to and certain details did not add up. I've taken screen shots on my mobile of the sms' that Brad sent where he claims a number of things so can prove that it was said and that I'm not just a jaded customer, which I do not feel that I am, but I would like people to here of my experience. After digging through various threads and having personal conversations with a large number of current and ex customers, many of whom are listed in this thread (they can choose to reveal if they spoken to me if they wish), and after discovering this thread on PF (10 pages and is still active so worth a read) which mirrors a lot of what I'm about to say. The general consensus was the following, and I am paraphrasing here. - Brad is a compulsive liar. - Brad is extremely poor at time management. - Brad constantly makes and breaks promises regarding time frames. - Brad owes me money. - Brad owes me work/products. After extensive harassment and pressure from me, including calls to Fair Trading and the CTTT to discuss my options. I gave Brad an ultimatum to have the cages completed and shipped or I would pursue it with the relevant regulatory bodies. The deadline was missed but there appeared to be progress being made, so I kept up the pressure. After EXTENSIVE issues with supposed freight problems, lost items, missed collections etc (I have never ever seen anybody have as much issue sending things by courier or mail - ergo I do not believe half of what I was told was true in this regard) 2 cages arrived at the local freight distribution centre, not my house as agreed, so I had to arrange to collect them and get them home. I then discovered that neither was labelled (one was for my S13, one was for an R32) and that there were no plates or bolts to install them, nor was there any instructions - though Brad did say to call him to discuss when I had the cage and he would talk me through it. It took an extra few weeks and, apparently, 3 attempts to get the plates and bolts to me. It has then taken numerous attempts to get Brad on the phone to discuss install, a conversation I've now had and can proceed with. I will say this, the product appears, to my untrained eyes, to be a good quality product, and the value is hard to beat, which is why I think a lot of people end up taking work there. The customer service is great to start with and then in almost every case I've discussed or read about, falls away substantially once money is handed over or cars are delivered to the workshop, quite a few people also talk of parts going missing. That said, if even half of the issues that were mentioned by Brad were even remotely accurate, he would have good reason to be performing so poorly. In my opinion he'd have been better off not accepting new work and being very honest with people about what was going on and the expected time frames. I genuinely believe he was not entirely honest with me during this process and while it's his choice whether or not he wanted to reveal the true reasons behind his delays, if nothing else, the reasons he put forth were not the sort of things that should be lied about. It is hard to be sympathetic when every person around him I spoke to denied the various claims he was making as absolute rubbish. I do hope that the positive comment above is the start of a substantial turn around and that work begins to flow freely, without delay or issue, but given it looks like these issues have been the case before (as per the thread I linked) please use caution and make a call on if you can afford the risk. It's either a case of a poorly managed business in general, or the case of a person who badly mishandles the situation when faced with issues in his personal life, letting it affect his work and his customers. I would have a very hard time recommending ProFab to anybody who was not within driving distance and would recommend that an agreement be made not to hand over any money until work is completed, even if that is done in stages to ensure motivation to complete the task is maintained while material costs are being covered.
