  1. If all goes to plan I'll be there:uh-huh:
  2. I've done the mesh thing. It's a lot easier to clean bugs out of the mesh rather than pulling the radiator out every twalve months, it looks good too. For me it's also a country car thing (like mudflaps). :uh-huh:
  3. Prank, Its a pity it's sitting in our shed collecting dust at the moment. But there's only 58 days to go before I get my license back!
  4. 5. The silver top RB20 does - HR32 The red top NICS and ECCS RB20's don't - HR31
  6. If I was moving over 70kph in any heat I'd have no problem, but once I was sitting in traffic, the temp almost went off the scale! The intake air going through an FMIC is cooler for sure, but being a heat exchanger the air coming in the front of the car gets heated, then hits the air-con, gets heated further, by that time the radiator's got no hope. Most people don't have any trouble at all. Maybe I had one of the thermo's wired up backwards?:uh-huh:
  7. Nick, I had a Hyperflow FMIC the same size you've got in about this time last year, but had to pull it out cause it made the motor boil sitting in traffic in early september:( The mods I had to make were cutting a hole for the pipework under the washer bottle and modifying the front of the chassis rail with a hammer:D Ed
  8. Nick, -First pull out the grille (5 plugs) -below the grille there's three scrivets that hold the bar to the metal subframe, there's also one underneath the centre scrivet, just behind the number plate -Behind the plastic inner wheel arch guard there's two screws either side which hold the sides of the bar to the front of the guards. -The headlights don't need to come out -Don't forget to disconnect the fog lights/blinkers -It should come straight off. The bar is easily cut with a jigsaw with a metal blade if the back of the bar needs to be cut forward to fit an FMIC in. I'm pulling mine off this weekend to check the my crash repairers handywork and try and line things up a bit better. Ed
  9. Nat, NSW is still going (just), but is now more web based. Renz from melbourne is looking at organising a nationals in the future which sounds promising. Look us up at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Nissan_SVD Andrew (ED)
  10. Not long ago wheels or motor magazine had an article on Carlos Ghosn, he's a hell of a manager but everything comes at a price. Throughout the peugot/nissan range there could be as little as 16 platforms for the two manufacturers, so expect to see the Skyline/GTR/Z motor beeing shared around. Prank, The rig's looking good, got it out last saturday, I'd post a pic but don't know how, so, you've got mail. Ed
  11. Check out the new GTS? skyline coupe on this link/address: http://www.importdriver.com.au/News6.htm#G35 Coupe I'm thinking it looks beeter than the GT-R
  12. Because some nissan genius decided to put the battery in the boot (probly for weight distribution?), the original equiptment battery was sealed with a ventilation tube running down the left hand side of the battery and through the floor. Have a look for a rubber grommet where the tube used to pass through.
  13. JiMbO, The motor's still in good nick and with these wintery days I managed to wind it off the clock easily on a back road this arvo. If I wasn't at the servo without tools, I would've pulled the strut bar out before changing it over. I'm not too keen on the idea of the battery not having a vent tube either. Electricals in a confined space with a lead acid battery (hydrogen) = Boom! 8O
  14. Guys (and Shell) I got my car out of the crash shop yesterday with fresh paint and panels, when they took it off for a wheel alignment, a heap of blue smoke came out of the exhaust. Any ideas anyone? My theory is when I had my stack the motor shut off straight away making the turbo cook letting oil past the seals? Read ->stuffed The battery was dead as well, try getting one of those suckers out with the strut bar in place :?
  15. I've used Datspeed at kingswood and had no problem, Napean EFI seems well set up too.
  16. The intercooler went in favour of a neater looking front bar extention. I went to pick it up today and they didn't have one (after they told me they did mid week). Sux to carmate    The pricks can deliver one to my door when they get some in....
  17. Prank, Nice try, but I've changed my mind again. The guy who's fixing my car told me to check out carmate, they've got an "Aspec" front bar extention which is similar to the nismo extention some people have on but it looks better, so I'm going for it. I'll pick it up after the SAS. Might see you saturday, Ed
  18. Anyone that sells autometer has both single and dual pods in 2 1/16", i got mine from unique autos.
  19. Finally got the approval today to start work! I'm going for a GT-R front bar but I'll have to stick with the stock intercooler for now. I could be moving to Sydney sooner than I thought, and need to find a job ASAP, so cash flow could be very limited. Ed
  20. I'll be there saturday driving my girlfriends hyundai
  21. Who knows of good FMIC suppliers in sydney? So far the best I've found is one at UAS for $1700
  22. Brad, There used to be a guy at Lockhart with a red R32 GTS skyline, have you ever seen him around wagga?
  23. Prank, you've got mail I had no idea you pranged the prank, comiserations to you and your g/f. We should set up a sub club for crash victums and lost licence drivers.
  24. Guys, Ihad no idea there was and tention at SDU, pity really... ONARUN, SVD's in limbo at the moment, there's still two upcoming cruises though, wakefield park on the 28th and then Bathurst on the 18th of next month. Prank, Do you know of anyone that has any digital photos of my re-union with the rock? My car's sitting at the crash repairer so I have plenty of time to hone my cornering technique on GT2.
