What Should I Expect To Pay For A Complete 25
Medium Dave replied to BANGN's topic in Western Australia

The rb25 turbo is indeed different, and a good, simple upgrade to an rb20 I am told - I am chasing one at the moment too Here is the Link to the diy, have a read - the turbo should bolt straight in, the only thing is putting a nipple near the outlet to feed the wastegate.
-
Check out this Tutorial - should be about everything you need to know Aparently the r34 turbos mix well with the rb20

Thanks Damo - I will measure them up this weekend, currently the back end is in the air ready to drop in a hicas lock bar -
Thanks guys, as for the gasket, I will just be using the standard nissan gaskets

The head has been removed from the block, and I have started scraping old gasket muck from the block, but just wondering what I can use to make it shiny clean - I read in a yankie V8 rebuild book that they use a 1/3 sheet sander on the deck (not to remove metal, just cleaning it) Is this wise - would you use a fine grade paper and give it a quick once over? Or should I give it a going over with some deagreaser or metho on a rag? Or is there another method for getting it cleaned up? Also, what is this aluminium spray they use on head gaskets? should I use it, or is there another sealant/gasket cement I should use? -A mechanic looked at it an said it should be ok without getting the block or head machined, but I will have the head done for peace of mind. It is also getting a gasket kit, new water pump and timing belt. Apologies in advance for the noob q's - What I need is a large print picture book Thanks all Edit: forgot to mention, its an RB20DET

Hey all, I just picked up a R32 GTS4 with a set of HKS Hiper Max D coilovers at the front, which are fitted with stiffest springs that were available at the time, which is a bit too stiff for my liking, and I was just wondering if anyone would want to swap me for a pair of springs that are somewhere more of a medium stiffness (springs only) and trade up to something a bit more stiff. I am in hobart and can deliver shoot me a PM if you are interested. Thanks muchly!

The car has been sold!

I had a quick look into this a while ago, the RTA websites can tell you quite a bit - but from what I remember you do need permits from both states, which are about $40-50 if memory serves, and I am not sure about what paperwork you need with you, but if I were you I would take everything, its not heavy and it would suck if you needed something that you could have easily brought with you. Anyway, the best people to talk to are the RTA, go make a phone call

I failed my first test on the very first corner Nailed the seccond test, even after the 3 point turn became a 5 point turn -Wow, that makes me sound like a really bad driver... Im not really, honest

I have not had a car on the boat, but as a rough guide I understand it is preferable to have the car high enough to clear a coke can standing on end

Targa roads If I were planning this trip I would head off the boat in devonport, drive on the highway to Launceston, and hit up the Sideling (an excelent starting point) then through to St.Helens. Dive down to Freycinet - Wineglass bay, and set up camp for the night, they have some nice camp sites with parking next to the sites. Day 2, head down the coast through Swansea, Triabunna, Sorell and crash in Hobart for the night (cheap backpackers mabey) Day 3 Possibly spend the night at Fortescue Bay, its my favourite camp spot, but pick one of the campsites you have to walk to, not park on (Its only 10m or so, and they are much quieter) - gravel road on the way in tho. Day 4, check out Port Arthur, then head back to Hobart. Visit Richmond, but definatly take the road over grasstree hill on your way in. Stop in Hobart again. Day 5. Head towards Strahan (pronounced something like strawn) Then take your pick of Queenstown, or Strahan to stay - not sure about camping there im afrad, but you should be able to find something. Day 6. Head up through Zeehan towards Burnie, then back to Devonport and on the boat. As for pubs in Hobart, head down to Salamanca and drop into Knoppies, then head up to Syrup nightclub - is my pick anyways, that might cause some heated discussion, for which I apologise in advance You might want to book places to stay in advance, it can get busy about that time of year. Oh, and you will have to book the boat, it's an overnight trip. Take the basic ring end spanners 10,12,14,17mm etc (only what you need on your cars), chunky pliers (bull, and needle), hammer (precision adjustment tool, or PAT), hacksaw, crowbar and tow rope. And most importantly, WD40, and Gaffa tape! Sounds like it should be a good trip! Drive safe

Make: Ford Model: Falcon Wagon Milage: 232,xxx Transmission: Auto Colour: White Location: Hobart, TAS Currently registered? Yes, till December 2008 Price: $2500 negotiable Contact: Shoot me a PM and I will find a suitable time to give you a call, I only have a work mobile. Comments / Modifications: Very reliable, has been maintained well, has no current issues. With a strong 4l 6 it has plenty of torque and cargo space. The 230,000k's on the clock are mostly hightway miles - it has spent most of it's life delivering windows between devonport and hobart/burnie for my Dads business, but lately has just been transporting my puppy. Would make a great parts chaser/tow car/daily driver - Its last job for me was to tow home a R32 GTS4 (reason for sale) with a boot full of spares and it pulled up hills with ease. The car is in reasonable nic' for its age/miles, except for the boot, the puppy has gone to town in the back and ruined one of the seats - which could probably be replaced without too much trouble - check the pics anyways. Shoot me a pm if you want a look, I only have a work mobile, so I cant really go posting it on a public forum, but I will give you a call back as soon as I can. I am looking for a quick easy sale, so $2500 - very negotiable Images:

The Best Car Design This Century?
Medium Dave replied to GTR-N1's topic in General Automotive Discussion
How is it no-one has mentioned the Alfa 8C? I love these things Also +1 for the Aston DB9 -
Nice choice of car - I was lucky enough to drive a stock one for half an hour on some back roads, a very confidence inspiring car, tip it into corners gracefully, feed on some throttle and they will hunker down on the road, tear through the corner and ask for more! You will love it
-
Possibly cool for now as the looks are not over the top and you dont need to explain why it has a rollcage etc.. but it will be sent down as soon as some footballer buys one

Im not sure what it is like, but have you had a look at the suspension from the standard pulsars or GTiR? - Reasoning that its an sr20 with fwd/4wd, might be completely different, but you may get lucky

Death proof is pretty awesome, but my favourite would have to be the original Italian Job, and C'etait un Rendezvous - Only 9 minutes, but definatly worth tracking down a propper copy and watching on a good AV setup (plus some mind altering susbstances if you are so inclined ) - not on youtube!
