Hey guys, thinking of importing a v35 and have seen many common issues regarding them with spark plugs excessive oil dilemma , window, gearbox and annoying noises. I have been told the models after 2005 are upgraded models and the little issues of the older models were fixed. Is there any truth to this claim?? If so I'll look at a 2005 or 06 model. Cheers

Have been in discussion with Kristian from Iron Chef Imports and considering importing a V35. Just wondering what are the chances of getting a car with genuine Km's, besides the log books I read somewhere there is a register in Japan that you can check the car to see if the KM's are genuine or whether the odometer has been tampered with? Dont want to bring in a car with 50,000km when really its around the 100,000km and driving it around not knowing it needs to have the timing belt done otherwise Kaboom!! its pretty much what has me worried about going to getting another Skyline. Just sold my R33 (really miss it now) which was the best car I ever owned and want to make sure the V35 is the same.

I would personally get a compression and leak test done to the engine to determine how healthy your engine really is before slapping on a new turbo. The FMIC and Turbo back exhaust should be fine, expect a little lag with the FMIC though.

Hey Guys, I know this is a Skyline Forum but have a 2000 model lancer sedan daily driver and wanted to update the rear and door speakers. Would anyone have any idea of the size of the speakers for this kind of car? Would 6x9's fit at the back and 6.5 inch splits up front. Cheers in advance for your answers.

How much to fix? Just sold my R33 and in the market for a V35, so this would be good to know.

For real??? I'm thinking of going to Japan later this year, this will be my first trip I will do on my own, always wanted to travel somewhere by myself. So will no doubt be renting a GTR!!

Hey Guys, Just noticed that the plastic cover you take off when doing an oil change is missing one screw. By any chance would anyone know the exact size of this screw so I can buy a new one or set while I'm at it. Cheers.

The clutch is standard from what I know. Will try and get a video with sound to give you guys an idea.

Hey there guys, Thinking of possibly undertaking a project of creating my own rear parcel shelf and add speakers such as 6x9's. (Not a fan of subs at all, enjoy boot space. Was just wondering do you think I can fit 8 inch mid bass speakers at the back such as the JL Audio, ZR800-CW? Thanks

Ok then guess thats the best answer I'm going to get. Will tell him to get a clutch kit and see how things go. Supposedly clutch needs changing anyways so will see if issue is resolved.

Hey guys, A mate of mine has a car similar to mine and when the motor vehicle is cold mostly and reversing out of garage with the clutch a little bit under friction point the underneath of the car begins to shudder and goes away with clutch is pushed in. When doing it again while accelerating it does not do it. Once warm its pretty much fine. Any ideas? Thought it could be the clutch even though it doesn't slip, could this have something to do with gearbox? Not too sure if anyone has experienced something similar I could try and arrange a video if need be. There is also a strange slight scraping/scratching/rattling type noise which comes from underneath the car near the gearbox area when the motor vehicle is turned on and warming up this may have something to do with it but no idea. If anyone has experienced this it would be good to know what it is also. Cheers

Has anyone had there PS3 laser die?? Happened to me and got it fixed then happened not even 1 hour after getting it repaired. Glad the repair has 3 months warranty but this is stupid!!!

Whats the best way to determine if it is infact a throwout bearing?? Does the box have to come out completely?? Thats going to cost a fortune isnt it for such a inexpensive part.

I havent noticed any change when the clutch is in. "most likely a bearing in that area.. throwout being the most obvious, input shaft being next." If it is this how much would this bring me back money wise?? When I put the clutch to friction and reverse the car out of the garage it sometimes becomes louder. The noise is tempermental though which is annoying. Also in neutral it goes louder and silent then louder and silent. Once warm usually dissapears.

Hey Guys, At the moment when I turn the car there is no noise at first but as soon as it warms up a tiny bit this grinding noise appears when the car warms up fully the noise seems to quieten down and even subside. The car is usually stationary when this happens. The grinding type noise is coming from underneath the car around the clutch/clutch fork area. You can audibly hear it. I was just wondering whether this could be a fly wheel issue. The noise is definetly coming from underneath (around the middle of the car) not the engine or the wheels. Just hoping some of you have had this kind of thing appear. I have taken it to the mechanic but the car did not make the noise then. Which was really annoying.

I'll check it. Mine also makes the sound when Idle though. Strange

Hey Guys, There is a wierd grinding sound coming from underneath the car. Took it to the mechanic but once I drive it and warmed up the sounds quieten's down. For me it sounds like its coming from the clutch/gearbox area. When cold it makes a grinding type noise can be very quiet then goes loud (Very tempermental varies day by day). When I start to drive or reverse it can get a little louder. Mechanic was saying maybe it could be the exhaust rattling. He says its not an engine issue so thats atleast one thing out of the way. Just wondering if anyone here has experienced something similar and would like to share some knowledge. Thanks

Hey, I just thought I would post my solution. My car was having crappy cold starts with idle going all over the place. Replaced my battery with a powerful dry cell battery and solved the problems. Good luck

Hey Guys, Sorry for bringing back an old thread. I have a Nikon D90 and have the Kit lens (18-55) and a 50mm F1.8 Prime lens. Want to buy a nice zoom lens for a reasonable price. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 Nikon Mount? It doesnt have image stabilisation like the Nikon brand but is half the price also. Was also thinking the 18-200mm VR Nikon but its the same price as the lens above and heard it has massive distortion problems from 130mm onwards. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
