  1. thanks for the dyno run SST and SAUWA team. I wish i could have stayed around longer to check some more cars out but had family bday to attend (plus the weather is too good to be inside a workshop ) I forgot to talk to alex about membership while i was there Will have to wait til he replies to my she-mail
  2. SatMods in joondalup were really good. They did my xBox and used genuine chips ( i have been warned against people modifying with chips that arent what they say they are) give them a go, good blokes and they usually mod it within the hour for you
  3. if you are dishing out early dyno runs i will take one
  4. kym..remove your Cat then, so someones head catches the piece of turbine instead of your exhaust
  5. sweeet as Nate..cya there Hope i remember on the day hehe
  6. im in if you dont mind a non-skyline
  7. was hoping they would release a new Torana...V8 though.. need a nice small V8 again!
  8. nice beasty bam. Shame JASH spelled "PIMPN" wrong! Im telling a friend at work who is chasing a Cefiro
  9. yeah like we need more babying and censorship on tv. Lets honeycoat the roads even more....they already assume that all drivers are retards that cant handle anything other than 1.8 N/A's going at 60kms per hour. Angel, yep..the thunderstruck ad was toned down.
  10. I agree, the rb20det was less than impressive without some major modification, unfortunately I never got to do that much. The only main performance mods were an i/cooler, full exhaust and the boost wound up to 12-14 via EBC. 300kms per tank sounds a bit ill for a stockie, but I remember my old r32 did drink quite a bit, it was on par with my V8. From memory it did about 350 to a tank driving hard on the occasion - Its been too long to remember accurately now though sorry. Hopefully someone else here can answer. And yep, I am averaging about 400 when driving the silvia lightly - and that has big injectors, turbo, and fuel pump.
  11. Going pretty well Im going to keep it the way it is for a while and hang onto my money, just been doing a few maintenance jobs. Thew a spiffy aluminium radiator catch overflow tank in though. You didnt leave me much to do. Had a chance to do anything to the 32 yet apart from the above?
  12. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=50226 Looks like Pauly had dibs but who knows if he bought them. He may have spent the money on boys
  13. I have an 86 Corolla 1.6L 5spd 5 door with aircon ..FrontWD I will be selling it soon, if required i will sell it sooner than later. Its in very good condition and has about 240k Small muffler leak and thats about the only thing wrong. probably sell for about $2600 as this seems to be the going price in the quokka etc. Very smooth to drive and fast for its age/size. Give me a hoot if you ever want to check it out
  14. Hey dude, I think EVL-33 (Brett) was considering selling some 33GTR seats. Not sure if he still is - Someone here might be able to help you contact him. send me some pics of your 32 when you get a chance Avram
  15. Well I welcome some negative feedback. I rarely listen when people recommend somewhere to get something done on auto forums Too often all you hear are positive things about a workshop/s on here because some young bloke is praising the workshop they just took their car to, not because the work was neat and professional, but because they are just excited that they got something done to their car and the guys chatted to them for a bit to make them feel good. Many are too easily pleased. (I am not referring to any situation at present ! ) Ive only been to a workshop once and it was recommended by people on this forum, additionally one or two of the workshop members used this forum, and I have never seen sloppier work in my life - no other side to the fence on this one..i dont care if the mechanic was having a bad hair day or what..no excuse. But anyway..The trim work looks good Uneek, and I wouldnt mind checking it out before i get my GTR seats re-done
  16. yeah fair go Ri. He did say he has improved. didnt say "Avoid this guy, his work is ***tup"
  17. jason! is your girly still in the Euro? Purple = sexual frustration no? looks good mate
  18. Only time I ever got pulled over in my R32 was for doing an U-Turn at the lights. The undercover cop was a complete prick, but didnt inspect the car. Havent been pulled over yet in my s13..i expect to though. Silvias are cop bait. The police are much more polite than in most countries ive seen, especially places like the US. We have it good, we just have to put up with the conservative crap like not being allowed to have a low car, or mirror tint, or tyres extending outside the guards...they want everyone to drive hyundais
  19. will check it out tomorrow mate. I just need to decide which one is going/staying in the new car
  20. i know you want to borrow one, but if you decide to hold off and buy one, i recommend buying new. You never know how healthy a deck is until its rigged up. I have 2 JVC Mp3 decks at home, I need to get rid of one of them. If you are interested I will suss how much to sell it for (2nd hand both recent models)
  21. Pauly : i tried searching recently too and couldnt find crap. Glad to see the question asked again for my sake i want to get my GTR seats re-done. That material wears out....I guess it doesnt help giving them ass-rubs all day
  22. bless_you and i went to school with gallops son too
  23. agreed packy, but that is not what they are using as their artillery. They are claiming they want to save lives. This is not only a hooning thing, is an ongoing problems where speed limit after speed limit is lowered, law after law is passed, and all of these things are small bandaids to the big picture. but i agree...it will stop hooning. I am afraid to even give my car a SHORT squirt now on a dead straight road where there are no cars and possibly intersecting traffic.
  24. Oh well , here is my 2 cents I will be submitting. I really had no interest before, but I am hardly ever pro-active, so here goes. It requires my formatting and proof reading before i send it off to the fat slat. In the interest of saving lives please consider better driver training for young drivers. I will base my thoughts on the youth because this is what has been the major focus in the media hype of P-platers curfew and the “hoon” legislation. Every story in the paper focuses on pulling the heartstrings of parents when they read that yet another 17yr old has died in a car accident. It is obvious that the current driving examination and preparation is not only inadequate, but unrealistic when applied to real situations. To explain further; similar to doctors and surgeons, drivers license holders actions are potentially responsible for the wellbeing of other citizens lives. No matter how long a student doctor studies textbooks and does practical examination work nothing can possibly prepare him/her for the scenarios which will arise when treating a real patient. For this reason graduates in these professions have a period where they must sit in at an established clinic in which they can experience these situations first hand, with the guidance of a professional. This practice could similarly be applied to new drivers. I am positive that nearly every parent has to face one of their biggest fears the day that their son or daughter obtains their drivers license. The risk to their child’s life has now significantly increased at their own hands, and the hands of other road users. No matter how well their child does in their written and practical driving test, nothing at all can prepare them for real situations they will face on the road. Situations that will take split second decisions, and all of which are unfortunately completely new experiences. The real learning happens on the road in observing accidents, and the involvement of near misses and the likes. Unfortunately these learning experiences are a roll of the dice which can result in injury or a fatality. It is human nature for young people to test their grounds and mortality regardless of laws. They will do this on the road, just like they do with drugs, smoking and anything else they are told not to do. The only way they will ever learn not to do these things is by negative experiences. An advanced driving course will allow them to test their curiosity and get involved in dangerous scenarios in a controlled environment to better understand the possible ramifications of their actions on the road. They will learn to drive on various road surfaces, wet, loose gravel and the likes. The driving techniques they learn will allow them to see and avoid potentially hazardous conditions before they have the need to use quick reflexes or highly-developed skills to get out of trouble. Alternatively they may already be in a situation and these practiced skills will be second nature to help them maneuver out of it. I wish I had the opportunity to undergo this type of training when obtaining my license. When dealing with young drivers, I am confident that there is as much proof that “Speed Kills” as much as “inexperience” does. Please educate our young drivers, purely for the interest of saving lives and lets forget about simply creating revenue.
