    Is This Legal

if the cops stop you, just tell them its an r32 gtr - they wont know. If they ask where is the gtr badge, telll them, some punks badged it....
  2. Test drive all 3 models (32 gtr, 33 gtst & gtr, 34 gtt) - from here go for the one that you feel will be good for your style of use (cruising or track or deca etc) - usually when u drive them you will know what to look for interms of problems (take a print of merli's check list) Then look into either going via a dealer or private OR look at importing one. Importing will be cheaper but you are relying on pics and info from the importer (who in turn got it from the people in japan) - private and dealers you can actually drive it, see it in person. Private is usually cheaper than dealers, but no warranty. Do you need warranty - depends on the car and its condition - so set aside some cash for an inspection (both private and dealership).
  3. Yep - your right, its mostly stop start traffic. I dont usually use the car for lots of highway driving or long cruising etc. But last time I filled up, I did lots of highway/freeway driving as well as stop/start traffic - returned around 8.7ks/ltr.
  4. was it the same one from HPI?????
  5. i feel that the mileage is much better in my car. Was using bp ultimate and was getting 7.4ks/ltr, but now with v-power im getting 8k/ltr response is better as well.
  6. wow - dude, thats like motoring history right there! Looks mint too - hope the next person takes care of it. God, i hate it when people buy cars in prestine condition and dont take care of it - makes me wanna go and slap that bitch silly.... good luck with the sale though
  7. Hi All, I did a search and I couldnt find anything on this - maybe I didnt use the right keywords for the search - but how does one get to be a mechanic? Do I need to do a course? I have heard of apprenticeships for it, but since I am an accountant, I dont think I will have time to do anything like that - unless Im an accountant by day and a mechanic by night I have the skylines manual - that I got from the net ages ago - but would that be enough for me to do general maintanence and/or modifications? I have been thinking about doing a short course on car maintenance at the local tafe or something, but not sure what the results are like from doing such a course. Anyone taken one of those courses before? If so, was it beneficial? Any other options that I can look at? Thanks all
  8. r34GTT has 206kws (2.5 ltr turbo), r33 gtst has 187kws (2.5 ltr turbo), r32 gtst 160kws (i think - 2.0 ltr turbo ??) Torque wise as well, the GTT i think has better torque. Anyone else care to add more benefits/disadvantages?
  9. No doubt the GTR is in a league of its own - specially the r32. But keep in mind that the running costs of a GTR is said to be much higher than that of the gtst. The guys/gals who own the r32 will be able to help you out better with that car. R33 gts-t's are around 17k for a stock one at the moment (maybe less) - so it leaves you heaps of cash for mods. For around $5000 worth of mods for the r33 - you can probably expect around 180rwkws (maybe?). Keep in mind that both cars tend to not like being stuck in traffic and are more at home at the track. You gotta ask if you will be spending time on the track/deca etc. My r33 gtst - smooth engine, great performance - but there are times where I just wanna gun it, and the streets are soo not enough to do that - so its like holding in the urge to go nuts. So imagine with the gtr - it would be like having the hottest woman in the world (with all the right assets), and not being able to do the nasty to her .
  10. HEY!!! R33s arent shit! hehe....

My dad used to work at a cement factory as a production manager when we were in the middle east - the old mack trucks were freaking huge! Me and my bro used to always sneak up and sit in the drivers seat and just drool over all the controls - ofcourse the workers couldnt do much cos we were the sons of one of the top people in the company - ah good old memories.... pics would be mad tho

    Import Dealers

yeah my car had the same problem - but it was fixed no questions asked - he rung up this place next to race pace in bayswater, i took it there the same day - 30 mins later, all done..... A good dealer will always look after you.

    Import Dealers

Yep - warranty is important i reckon. My car had waterpump and welsh plug issues. Warranty took care of that. Think of it as a safety net, because we dont know what the car had been up to in japan.
  25. pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft - my 1982 honda civic will destroy that thing.............................. for like 0.02 seconds before the driver of that porsche realises that im racing him....
