Hey Ryan, You did the right thing by coming to this forum. Firstly, there is a post by Merli, on what to look for when buying a skyline. Check that out - thats what I used. Secondly - I will give you my experience. Do a bit of searching. Test drive a few cars. Have a look at the quality of cars. Then find a good dealer/Importer - preferably one that can aid you with a lot of information. From there, you will have a clearer picture on what to look out for. If you want I can pm you with what I was looking for when I bought my car (about a week ago). Matt

probably the main reason i was inclining towards white - plus i like the colour - it shows more of the car. White - you do get dirt, but not as much as on black. if you like a darker colour, why not go silver or something like that....

I think its only fair that we feel hatred and anger for these low-lifes - cars are our life (to an extent), and working hard and getting our dream is something that we always envisioned - when thieves come and take the car away - its only natural that we feel anger. I dont understand why the law doesnt protect us, and the cops dont really do much about it. Next thing you know, this country becomes like the U.S.A - every man for himself sorta thing - guns in cars and all that......its tragic. Hows the search for your car going though? Any progress?

The strangest thing happened (well strange for me anyway) - I was at monash clayton tonite, and bumped into a workmate of mine. We were stopped in front of the tennis courts and were talking about our cars (he bought a 00 rex just recently). On the other side of the road there was a guy walking with a girl. The girl went towards the tennis courts, and the guy crossed the street and came towards us. He went behind my car (seemed to be looking at either the number plate or the bumper). I said "hows it going" and he replied and came around the passenger side - then he started talking to us - how his friend has a r33 and all that. Then my friend asked him if hes got a skyline, he said no he had a barina - and anyway after 2 mins he left. We thought it was a bit strange - but my friend said he didnt like how the guy had his hands in his pocket. Apparently his friend had been car jacked or something - and the guy who spoke to him had his hands in his pocket too. Anyway - this was all strange to me, as I never had anyone come and talk to me about my car (maybe cos the car I drove before was crappy), and 2) to me be looked a bit suss - but then again maybe im just a bit paranoid as this car cost me 6 years worth of casual jobs. Do any of you get approached by strangers asking about your skylines, or having your car checked out?

This is it guys and gals - my baby. 1996 GTS-T (from GT AUTO IMPORTS in croydon)- with absolutely no mods on it except for the Wheels, Stereo and front and rear strut bars. Currently running on optimax, and doing about 130 - 140 every 15 ltrs. As I am still studying I dont want to do any mods to it yet, but next year I hope to put on an exhaust and a pod filter to make the breathing a bit better. Later this year - hope to install a new turbo timer (the one it has is not working anymore). Bought it with 72,400 on the clock, drives on Bridgestone potenzas 235/17. Everything is as I had dreamed of. :lol: Well - its been a week since I owned it. In that time I have had the windows tinted (had a dent on it thanx to those guys), fixed up the dent, and driven 400 - 500 klms in a week. So lucky I didnt go for a NA supra - sooo very lucky!!

I got mine done at KSR - Wayne from GTAUTO organised it all for me - did a fantastic job and Keith is very professional about it.

Well - got my car from GTAUTO IMPORTS in croydon - and it is fantastic! Any problems or queries, Wayne and Jarrod answered em for me and they have a list of contacts that they use for Waynes own Skyline r33 - so they got the whole package - id refer anyone interested in imports to them.

I get something like 130 - 140 klms per 15 litres for my manual r33 - Though just today i got 120 in about 20 ltrs ( but thats cos I had a full tank, and i was demonstrating the turbo for a couple of my friends).

If you go thte description of hte cars they use, and know where they hang out - why not get the police to check it out. but make sure that you know its them...

man i hate it when people do this - we worked hard for our cars then some idiots who can be bothered working for their shit come and steal our shit. f**kin pisses me off....

Well we are not sure yet - my car has aircon problems, so if it can be fixed tommorrow, then it will be around 7.30 or 8 - but I will leave a msg on this thread if I do end up going to clayton. B)

Me and a friend are gonna catch up at monash tommorrow (friday night) - although he drives a brand spankin new accord euro now, he used to drive a 95 r33 gts before. Anyway, we are going down to have a look at each others cars (we both got the cars this week) - If we do end up catching up - I will leave a msg if anyone wants to come down as well (dont knwo about if we will be going for a cruise but we shall see)

There is another thing thats bugging me about the car - the turbo timer on it is a Starbo RS-1500 timer (apparently its an auto/remote start combination with the turbo timer) - the thing is its all in japanese. Its got 6 little levers that is either up or down - lever 1 says "ON" - but it doesnt do anything. Sometimes it works for about a minute, other times it doesnt at all. Can anyone shed some light on this as well. im guessing I will need to get another turbo timer - but I have to wait for a bit. If anyone has this, or knows how it works, please let me know. Thanks all.

Hi Guys and gals, Where do I get the lock nuts for HR Racing Wheels? I got the Barri-Nut lock nuts - but they are not the right size. Im guessing that only the specific HR Racing lock nuts will fit my rims. Can someone tell me where to get them in Vic? Thanks p.s I have attached the pic of my rims as well - if anyone knows where I can get hte right lock nuts - please let me know

Yeah, it is bound to happen - but a place with a good rep shouldnt really do that. Worse still, they tried to pop it back. Although it looked like it was ok (apart form the small dent) - the pop back actually made an outward bump - the panel beater indicated that when he worked on fixing the car. So yeah - I have made up my mind though, I am going to go the GT Auto - they are very helpful, and they got a lot of good contacts (the panel beater does work for them). Thing is, better to go with people who know the car, and who do work with care. Despite the fact taht the tint job was good - and Im glad it went well - the dent was a huge let down (though I must admit I made the mistake of not showing my dissappointment and just saying - its ok - im kicking myself in the head right now).

Used to be a monash boy - did Computer Science (clayton), now at RMIT doing Masters in Accounting - I will post pics of my skyline soon

Incase any of you are going to get work done to your cars - just a word of warning. Be there when they do the job, even if it is to do something like adding a body kit etc. I got my car tinted yesterday, and then got it bad with a huge dent. The guy popped the dent back, but it was left with a small dent. So Finally got it fixed today by a guy that the dealer/importer knew - and now have to see if I can claim the money i spent on fixing it, with the tint people. Just warning everyone - Im sure you all love your skylines as much as I love mine - so be on the look out.

well in australia we got the horseback riders - in italy they have the prancing horse.......Typical italian style ceremony - that country is proud of its ferarri tradition....
