    Your Stereo

I have a sub that looks like an amp, it does act like a speaker and gives base to the whole car (not like those drivers you can get) not sure how it works yet but definitely worth looking into. Its active, and with frequency/crossover controls etc. Works very well.
  2. There is also another posibility, that is the fan clutch, it may be attempting to engage and when you rev inertia makes is slip as it may be worn. they should spin freely then resonding to heat, jam up.
  3. They go alright but are a nightmare to work on (no space) not much common performance parts and they are not hard to break, the interior is also a bit tacky IMO. they are however much cheaper than a manual stagea, but that may quickly be outweighed by repaires!
  4. Never used the forum much but you can get an email with regular updates of what jobs are available, might give you a bit of feel for whats about. Also has acommodation and prices for the same.
  5. It was just a general to go with KFM, love that, got a gsxr suzuki 250 for 400 bucks in there.
  6. There was another link here but after that post I changed my mind
  7. I was eluding to the post in which he implied all the girls are in tokyo, I was being facitious to then imply there is such a short supply of women in western japan, there is infact only one.
  8. Actually mate I did say it was shitte, and I said it was a means to an ends, some people actually like nova, me not being one of them but for you to suggest that where you are and what you do is some how the only way it should be is pretty f'ing sad. I know people who have worked for nova 3,4,and 5 years. Me on the other hand I quit after a year and found other things, I wouldnt say my time was wasted there as I met some intelligent and interesting students who tought me alot about japan while getting paid. Serious to survive and grow? what the F is that? you sound like your on a pilgrimage. "highly unlikely the avreage aussie comes over here on a whv just to..." Mate have you actually met anyone else from another country while youve been in japan? or are you one of those people that ignores gaijin and pretends hes the only foreigner in the country? The truth is the average is 8 months and others stay much longer, years. I actually hate teaching full stop so a uni job in japan would be no better for me, nor would 400000yen a month for a career. English teacher is short for human with heart beat who speaks english as a first language, so its not really a big claim to fame. There are plenty of people from India, Phillipines, Nigeria and various other countries who are in japan teaching english with not educations that arent so good. You just have to accept that it can be done and people dont have to do the same as you to do it, believe it or not there are alot of japanese on less than 200000 yen month. have you ever ask one of your "j girls" how much she makes or do you not interact with the locals as you too busy looking at yourself on the cover of a magazine. I was lucky enough to spreak to the only girl in Osaka and ask her, rezz may back me up here as I'm sure he's spoken to her too (I know shes been to Kobe because actually all of western japan has to share her). If you actually asked someone around you a question you might then realise that half the people in the bar/club cant afford to be there on your calculation, perhaps you should suggest they go home too. Although you are an english teacher (see definition above) i suggest you look up the term egocentric, take one more look in the mirror and then go somewhere nice and meditate on the phrase "each to there own". Sadly all the people around you are silently humming this song but you have to cancel the first before you can understand the second. I cant disagree that youre there for the money, if you say so. But, sorry, when I said making much I actually meant more than the average wage in australia, If you look at the the quote you will see there were acceptions but your not one of them. times your salery by 4 then you migh fit the bill (unfortunatley for you as a teacher that will never happen.) I wonder if I asked them the same question they would say you are wasting your time, I'm thinking whilst they could, they probably have a good understanding of the phrase above.
  9. Thats a bit harsh, it is possible to get a job with nova before leaving australia and having your accomodatiion and something to walk into before you leave, without a degree you can only have a working holiday visa but I know plenty of people who have lived comfortably on part time nova and some private lessons here and there. When I first went to Japan I was with nova, it sucked but its just a means to an ends, having accomodation waiting and a chance to sus out other options was great. And all it cost me was the air fare. I dont know anyone who lives in japan thats in it for the money,or making much (accept the odd funds manager or very experienced specialist in something). if you can live there and experience it thats the main thing. I spent alot of time looking for anything other than teaching english but its not easy. I found one job checking speedos at the docks and one as an auction purchasing agent but the pay and conditions were worse than english teaching! If cash is what you want go to Kalgoorlie not Japan. If you want to learn a bit, like theres no such thing as ununderstandable, do it. PS my apartment in Umeda the heart of Osaka was 70,000 yen per month, alot less than I pay now.
  10. I think your all being tools with the whole my stagea is better then your stagea argument. Didnt ever here that mentioned by anyone sorry pal, must have missed it. enjoy what ever you've got.
  11. were you in the car just out of interest. regarless its semantics the math says 110kgs you say "Almost mid 1500's" - "a tad over 1400kg's" so lets say 1540-1410 =130kg I would suggest the numbers are correct and perhaps there interpretation of curb weight is different (dry weight?) it is after all a site used by everyone in japan for car stats. I stand by my statement if the extra weight didnt out way the beifit it wouldnt be there.
  12. The GTR is up over 1500kg's. So a tad more than 100kg. I just looked up the figures on the R32 and thats what they said. Have a look for yourself. http://specs.amayama.com/specs-nissan-skyl...1-august/21772/ 1340kg http://specs.amayama.com/specs-nissan-skyl...9-august/21780/ 1430kg
  13. Personally though in regards to the origional question I (still thinking about the manual conversion) was thinking just how much weight could be saved if you didn't have the AWD system, like what was mentioned earlier in the thread. How much would the trasfer car, drive shafts front diff, cv / hubs on the front, attessa system (pumps, lines, wiring etc.) save you, it'd be a fair amount I'd imagine plus I don't know but would it be an easier and possibly cheaper conversion if you ditched it all (could sell off parts to ofset the conversion price)??? GTR 1430 kg Gtst 1340 kg = 100kg for Atessa system. As I said the perfomance gains must out way the weight gains or they wouldnt do it, if anything the extra weight of the stagea justifies it further as there is more weight to control and the trade off is a lower percentage weight increase on the car. Try driving a HX panel Van with a blown 308 in it (my first car) then you'd wish you had 4x4.
  14. The ATESSA also uses the ABS sensors to detect wheel spin/loss of traction. To answer the initial question if you drive like a mupet get a volvo. if you want to know which will handle better, the obvious answer is the AWD. Despite the weight gain of the ATESSA you dont hear may people pulling the 4x4 gear out of a GTR in an attempt to beat a GTT. Personally I think you loose alot of the balance and control the system offers by having an auto but its still going to offer more stability than RWD. "joe26f they are constant AWD, how often do you see ATTESSA equipped vehicles in WRC." I dont know mate but I did see some completely destroy Group A racing and wipe the class off the map. ATESSA would not be nessesary in WRC as you would want AWD all the time, why bother with the extra weight of a wet clutch?

    Import Issues

I do my own importing, you wont need to pay for degassing as it is a newer car (different gas). If its not at auction and doesnt have a condition report it can be dodge, you need someone to look at it if its from a yard or something. Have you been given any details at all? Ideally the modifications should be listed along with details of interior/exterior condition, this is often not the case with cars not sold at auction and its hard to get someone to look at it, unlike an auction where its convenient to have someone look after you have seen the initial sheet write up. You can never tell from a photo.

    New Qld Meet

i would like to come when my car arrives
  17. I assume its the vq25det if its turbo cos thats the only one. I did alot of research cos I was very tempted. There is as you would know, basically no info in aus and not alot in japan as the engine wasnt in production long(vq25det), going to the vq35de. The only info I really found in japan (i used to live there) was about a few ecu tuners and some turbo upgrades for the vq25det and kits for the vq35de. They all basically say, whatever they may be doing, is that we could do this more but it will break cos the bottom end needs modifying.the twin turbo kits are very capable but the stock bottom end is the major limiting factor. this being at the stage where this would not be mentioned for the rb. I dont understand well enough to get all the detail but I got the drift. After the auto stagea test, I had my heart on a 6 speed v35 vq35de and put a twin turbo kit on it but that plus a rebuild was just a bit excesive for me, I'm sure the vq25det will take a bit of boost and a tweak of the ecu. I dont no from personal experience but the maths wernt there for me bang/buck.
  18. I'll give you a clue it was about average acording to AMAYAMA for the 2000 rs four s. who do statsitical breakdowns of auction purchase price data in japan.
  19. After careful consideration and though I like the look of the m35 got this rs four s manual at auction yesterday for my new project. The power fc is on the way and some other bits and pieces, plane on buying the R34 front end kit soon. Just wanted to share my excitement! lol

    Neo 25 Or The 26?

    Could you happily stop there?

    Neo 25 Or The 26?

Add: comparing RS S manual which im led to believe has the gtr running gear. Happy to hear you love your stagea, 260RS is worth it in your opinion, thats great.

    Neo 25 Or The 26?

Yes, I understand that, but its more a question of economics and reality/necessity, than desire. if 250 kw is all you want then the 25 is better cos it cost you 10000 grand less, take the turbo and cams out of that and your ahead. Ok you havent got the brembos. Probably a bad question.
