Altenator seems to be fine as it pushes the power through the system when the vehicle is in motion. Most likely you need a bigger battery. But check your earths to make sure they are making good solid connection. Don't worry about a capacitor, that's like buying a second battery, the only difference being that it is solid state and can release all its stored energy almost instantly...

Ok, so I was doing some work on a mates car, the window is acting up a little bit... He was saying that sometimes the window wouldn't go up at all, so I took the relay out and had a look at it... Everything looks ok, except one thing, which we'll get into later... All I have witnessed is that the window will go down, but the motor struggles to go up (makes a very fast clicking noise, like when there's not enough voltage to turn the starter motor in the car). My question is this I spose: Would this half broken whatsit on the board be the cause? It's the orange thing, kinda looks like pacman now... I tried to take mine out and test it but mine is no longer standard and uses different plugs and wires...

sick thought it was being run in on the dyno, or were they just doing the start so everything beds properly?
