howd you get them?? they still havent shown on the site itself. and it was the turbo thats gone. the whole shaft was wobbly, fins on the front wheel and ground down, the back one looks like it may of done too. its off getting fixed. wow, proof i won a heat. pos 6 first B car home.(grin from ear to ear) http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....3/2002.BASK.R18

well it seems at this pont we havent popped the motor but one of the seals in the turbo as gone ( stu's looking into that for us) as there was oil dripping out the exhaust pipe. car is still running fine, although sounds gurlgly (you would too after eating oil!!) its not blowing smoke on idle, only when you you open the throttle. we also had oil all over the engine as we seem to be blowing to much oil into the oil catch. using castrol edge, might go back to the motul. i started driving home, but i was leaving a 100 metre smoke screen so called for a tow. it was another up and down weekend. i damged drivers door backing out the garage, spent an 1hr or so getting the door to shut again. qual 2nd with a 61.2 which impressed everyone i think. blew the start of race 1 finished 4th. got a better start in race 2 and passed Lucky and Bond and finished a close 2nd to Finnlayson. race 3 again finished 2nd but may of been declared 1st as Finnlayson was given a 1min pen for excedding the 61sec limit. some of the drivers belive that makes me the winner of race 3 but i dont know if if won my first race or not yet till i see the point score. so it was down to Bond, Luck and myself to win overall. I was on pole (grid 6 as all the targa classed ran together) i knew Bond was on the inside, i was infront on the outside into turn 1 and he gave me a wack which sent me off the track (see incar video on my site later in the week) i was back to 8th, past 4 cars and then she started to overheat and sound funny. i didnt know i was smoking at that stage. so i finished 4th, i could of won and won overall if those 2 things didnt happen. as it was i was 3rd overall, missed 2nd by 1 point and first by 6. i got my first motorsport trophy in which i mannaged to thank my dad before losing my composure. so thanks Stu, David Clifford, Cable Mate, Dee Jay (for some late sign work) WD Bryan Joiner, the HSCC and mostly Barry (aka Dad) for without him.....forget it. Just found out I am the winner of Race 3. Uploaded incar of this race to my siteJBR

Engine Rebuild Or Second Hand Motor
johnGTS-t replied to r33747's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
just rebuild mine. done a big end bearing. replaced the crankshaft, bearings, rings, conrod, cleaned head, gasket kit. all done at repco just over 2 grand. also had the comptuter chiped by Dr Drift and my rb20 turbo now with steel wheels and inlarged. could of got a engine for a grand, which is about what i thought it would of cost but cost double!! seem to have a loose tappet and a noise coming from the front cam wheel cover (unrelated i know) that we cant pin point. started removal work on xmas day and turned the key friday (8th) JBR -

well..... what a R$#$%$%#%$#^%$#%$#&%$#&%$#^%#^% of a #%^#$#%$^#^$% day i had!!!!! the most frustrating day. had a electrial problem (finally found to be the battery kill switch). fixed it in time for the last race, then the meeting was red flagged, cancelled due the diabolical weather. so i got to do about 3-4 laps. before that the wind broke the tent, i ripped my earring out, looked at the lap time the others did and if id gone as well as i can, i might of been 3rd on the grid and may of had a good day instead of the complete waste of time i had. and to top it all off i have been on the loo all day. but hey, there are worse off people than me.

ill keep me eyes peeled, or should that be shielded LOL

What will you be driving in targa??? Im looking at getting a drive in the Saloon Cars sometime next year. Unfortanley due to a clutch lever pivot bolt i missed the days racing at symmons which has basically shot the season for me. im still in with a chance for top 3 but might have to settle for 4th (at best). Ive got some funds for improvements but not until next year. and the Feb meeting will be a HUGE one aswell, being the 50th anniversary of Baskerville.

Rb20det To Fully Modify Or Not To
johnGTS-t replied to bLaQ.bOi's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I had RDA now I have DBA slotted. also have some cooling pipes too. still trying to get decent pads though. have run Bendix and Ferodo but there about the same. need something with less metal in them. you need to lighten the car as much as you can. I need a light weight bonnet. -
Rb20det To Fully Modify Or Not To
johnGTS-t replied to bLaQ.bOi's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
what ive dont to mine (if i can remember it all) not inc saftey items 3'' ex fmic apexi boost control lowered springs pinapples slotted disc's (front) braided brake lines strut bar pulled weight out (actually i weighed it today and its 1250kg, 20 over standard!!) the cage and fmic would be about 65-70kg total. so without the cage it would fly!!! bridgestone re55's on 7.5 x 16 pod filter octane boost or avgas i think thats it. im 3rd in tassie targa B series. lacks speed at Symmons Plains, almost on the money at Baskerville. so for the money ive spent, (about $12,000 not inc tyres) its good value. -
The New Soft Brake Pedal Thread.
johnGTS-t replied to Abo Bob's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
ive just put braied hoses on and ive got a softer pedal than i did before. getting new rotors and a caliper kit and see what happens. ive never had a problem with braking but the pedal has always been soft. -
ill second that. my rotors have warped both times i have raced there. make sure you have some cooling and maybe a spare set of front rotors. or brake early
-
ive got a 3'' side exit, just in front of the back wheel. there is some space there. what is a screamer?????

Confused Over Installing A Boost Gauge
johnGTS-t replied to johnGTS-t's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ah yes, electrical. i dont see the need for 2 pressure sensors. if i hook the power wires up to something and the white wire up to the white wire on the pressure sensor that is already installed, that should do it?????
