  4. 6.5" fit perfectly in my series 1... Both F + R... I think a lot of it depends on the brand you choose. Like I said, JBL's fit fine...
  5. RIP... Condolences to the friends and family...

  11. I got the $89 one listed above... Its a Uniden Bearcat UBC60XLT. Check the link to the Dick Smith site above... It has it's limitations (ie: only 10 channels), but it's perfect for what I want... It's damn interesting listening too! I've had mine turned on since about 2.00pm today...
  12. Advantages / disadvantges of alloy bushes over urethane bushes???
  13. I just forked out the $89 for one of these beasties from DSE and programmed it with the Gold Coast channels listed on the above website and all I can say is... Shit Hot! Works like a charm! Best $89 I've spent in a while...

  16. Whoa! Glad to here you and your mate are OK... Glad to hear it wasn't your Skyline... I think I know the hill your talking about. Pretty nasty when it gets wet. Pics would be good to see. I wonder how an Excel would of fared...
  17. And the same to you and your family Chris! And to all the other QLD members... Have a good one!
  18. Knore: It's used as a fuel additive. It is not a complete fuel. It is usually mixed as a percentage with 98 octane fuel. Eg: 40L BP Ultimate plus 4L Toluene is a 10% mix. It allows you to run slightly higher boost or slightly advanced timing without pinging... I've only ever used it as a safeguard, rather than a power producing thing. And only at the track... No really! It is also commonly refered to as Methyl Benzene, and it is primarily used as a paint stripper... Google "toluene octane" and check the results... Also do a search on here. Pretty sure it's been discussed before...
  19. Retard the timing... If your pinging a fair bit, don't expect the motor to last very long...
  20. Is this wiring similar to what your using? This is looking into the ecu, not the wiring harness...
  21. I don't reckon it's pin 6 or 7 for the rpm signal... Have you got a wiring diagram?
  22. Have a look at this thread. I have explained how I got my alarm working with my TT... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=20950 Any further q's, just ask...
  23. I'm interested @ $35-40 per 20L...
  24. engine power = (rwkw + fixed loss) + (rwkw x 5%)
  25. I have the 5 knob SITC (Super Ignition Timing Controller). I'm not sure if it's the same, but on startup, mine lights up all dials red and scrolls left to right, then right to left with a green light. When driving, all dials are red except for the currently selected rev range which lights up green.
