  1. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=236675 call dan on 0401 936 982 if your interested in any of the parts.
  2. I've decided to go ahead and give the TR43 hypergear turbo a go on my Rb20. Not interested in people saying that they are a cheap turbo etc. etc., I've only heard good things. I'd rather get a new turbo with warranty than get a second hand GT2530. I have read about a lot of people blowing these HKS turbos anyway ie: Mardle, McKinnon, so theres no such thing as a bullet proof turbo Anyway, I want to fit this turbo on a standard RB20, from the pics on their website it all bolts up nicely, but whats your experiences? will it connect straight to the inlet pipe and the intercooler piping? oil lines fit well? Does the kit come with all parts or did you need to buy some of your own? Is there a qualified workshop in Adelaide which has fitted a hypergear before? I'm sure plenty of people would like to know this information and would be good for future searches. No crap comments, just your own experiences. When I go ahead and fit mine, I'll post up results.
  3. I bashed out my cat, slightly deeper note, no noticeable increase in power or response, probably not worth the effort IMO. I don't get any flames, a bit of a smell but thats it. Its worth checking your cat, if it looks screwed, change it or bash it, if it looks okay, then leave it be.
  4. watch out, I used brake cleaner, it screwed mine up. I don't think your meant to clean them at all but if it isn't working then give it a try. In the end, you might have to get a new one.
  5. This cars been a long time coming. Front wheels match the car pretty well, when you get the back wheels on, and a front mount, it will look tasteful and clean.
  6. You don't need an alarm, a kill switch and an emobiliser is plenty, I don't care if someone breaks in too much, as long as they don't take the car. Or take out some fuses, thats the cheapest emobliser.
  7. I have an R32 and I've just got some 17" WORKS that are 9.5" wide for the back. When I fit it the first time, the car actually wouldn't move as the inside lip was fouling on that thing (HICAS) which is attached to the brake hub and has rods going behind the diff. I thne put some 8mm slip on spacers and it doesn't foul in a straight line but when I turn the steering wheel it does rub. I really don't want to go bolt on spacers as the rims already stick out the guards, what can I do? does this mean my HICAS is still engaged?
  8. Anyone got any at a fair price? everyone wants too much. I'm happy to pay up $50-$80 depending on condition
  9. I might be able to arrange something with you, I'm trying to get my hands on an RB25 with gearbox, which I might be willing to trade. Is the car a race only or will it be registered?
  10. I think because it was a non turbo, you need to drive it at its limit to get any enjoyment, I rekon if he had a turbo he would have treated it with more respect. Things like bigger brakes and LSD found in turbo models also help with handling majorly. I saw a guy with an SR turbo silvia smash into a gutter in the rain purely because he had no LSD (he was actually pretty talented). When I saw he was one wheeling occasionally, I knew it was a matter of time he would understeer into something.
  11. has a type M front bar too, good luck with the sale, looks tough
  12. cheers buddy, give me a buzz on one of these nights and we'll go for a slide in my car if its raining. My mate let me borrow his AFM so I don't need one urgently but still need another one for myself
  13. Sorry to hijack my mates thread but my computer wont let me start a new thread PLEASE does anyone have a spare silver top RB20DET air flow meter (AFM), I need one urgently as mine is shagged! please call Dan on 0401 936 982 or PM me ASAP! Cash is already ready, need one on ANZAC day
  14. sinista: I said that he shouldn't rebuild, but if he choses to, its not worth it unless you go for RB24. Yes, it will be expensive but probably worth it Its not as simple as just getting forged pistons. My guess, you'd be up for 3k minimum to get a rebuild, and thats probably a stock rebuild. You'll need all new gaskets, tensioners, pistions and rings and may need extra work if the cylinders are scratched. You also might as well get new bottom end bearings, water pump etc. etc. If your engine is gone, find a clean second hand one unless your willing to bite the bullet and pay some big bucks
  15. I'd disagree with getting an engine rebuild, my brother has just gone through one on his Rb25, 6k and 1 year later to get car on the road. Just get a new engine, thats why R32 are best, cos of cheap parts. Remember, there is a lot to getting a forged engine, ie: metal head gaskets, balancing etc. However, if you do decide to rebuild, go RB24 with GTR pistons and crank. They're usually pretty cheap and will produce heaps more torque and wont have to worry about regency issues if you went Rb25 instead.
  16. Hmmmm, I've way over filled my Rb20 with oil (full 5 litres) and no problems at all (so far). Turbo seal could be gone or piston rings are fried. My bro had same thing with bluish smoke and it was piston rings. If so, start looking for a new engine. Do a comp test.
  17. Cool car, gotta love RB20 power! Where and how much did ya pick the engine up for? What is the best cheap coilovers out there? Trent obviously doesn't like the D2 coilovers and I've heard bad things about HSD, what about ISC?
  18. Is this still for sale? Try the trader, a car like this should sell pretty quick in there. Your wastegate spring is probably set to 10 psi or so and isn't letting the boost controller do it job, you might need a heavier spring to get more power.
  19. Interested in the car, I can't PM on this forum for some reason so can you send me a PM with your email address so I can chat. Have you had compression checked? any problems with the car?
  20. I'm interested, but stupid computer wont send PMs. If you could send me a PM with your email adress, we could talk. I'm sussing getting an engine rebuild ATM.
  21. I can't PM on SAU or NS, just email me. I can't sms either
  22. Somebody buy this car! as you can see, the only reason why it made such low power is because lack of boost. I would buy it but it's a little out of my price range.
  23. In High performance Imports Mag, they said KKR was a Korean turbo and supply Volkswagens and other cars with their turbos from memory. Apparently the KKR turbos are pretty reliable and produce good power, they're just a bitch to fit. I'm looking at getting a turo soon too. Anyone on here bought and fitted a hypergear turbo? they are also cheap but are from Korea
  24. Tough car! sounds and goes really hard. The 189 kw dyno was a joke, car is capable of much much more. SAhould be able to get 240 rwkw pretty easily and safely.
  25. I can comply the car myself, car can be sold as is, but complied for 17.5k.
