  1. Sounds to me like a coil problem. I have seen it on most of my mates 33's. Of ocurse I would try a new set of plugs regapped to 0.7-0.8 first, as these are a great deal less expensive than coils. If all else fails a new set of coils is on the cards. Oh yeh on all my mates cars the only time it happens is when the boost is increased. Bad news is that coils are expensive. Look around $1200 for factory replacement or something like $900 for splitfire. Cheers
  2. Yeh I guess that would work.
  3. I am in Newcastle. I would like more than $100, thanks. Cheers
  4. I have two stock rims for sale (off an R33) with 225 rubber on them. They are in excellent condition with approx 30-40% left on the tyres. I can arrange shipping anywhere around Australia. $200
  5. Turbosmart Type III Supersonic BOV for sale. It vents to atmosphere and includes an R33 skyline adapter. Only 3 months old. I can post it anywhere in Australia free of charge. $300 or close offer. PM me for more details. Thanks, Grant
  6. I'll buy the BOV if it is a super sequential. How about $350? Give me a PM I am interested.
  7. Just take the bolts out and the metal plate comes off!!
  8. All you guys bagging out Mario consider this. When/if you build a house in the future, will you claim that as your own? The fact remains that YOU will not personally build it. You will have input in it, and build it to your specifications. You will also have expert knowledge as input. Isn't this the same as Mario? I don't see any difference and therefore I think its a little distateful in bagging him. Its an awesome effort and good on him. Keep up the good work!!!
  9. Build a new parcel shelf, it will look good and is the best way in my opinion.
  10. Why didn't you just make a new parcel shelf out of 15-18mm MDF?? Would have been a lot easier plus if all the theories about wood is correct wouldn't it sound better?
  11. What i do when stopping at traffic lights (don't know if it is good or not) is keep it in 2nd for as long as possible. There is a point when the engine sound changes slightly and it is this point you know it is safe to change into first.
  12. My 6.5 inch infinities fit no worries at all, even the screw holes match!!
  13. The expensive units don't have the antenna function because they are designed for the US. In the US, your head unit can pick up information about road conditions etc that is broadcast on the radio. Thus the antenna needs to be up to pick this up. However in Australia we do not have this function from our radio stations. On mu Alpine HU i put a manual switch in it that puts the antenna up or down.
  14. I got an Alpine CDA - 7894?? I think that is the one. Silver face, three pre out etc. Pro Sound have quite a few to choose from.
  15. Heaps of places in Newcastle sell them. I bought my MP3 head unit from Newcastle pro sound, and i know JB hifi at Kotara sells them - i have seen them there. By the way i bought mine about 2 months ago.
  16. Didn't the article say a non-turbo V8 or a 3.5lt twin turbo V6???
  17. I haven't had any trouble loading mp3s on my alpine hu. You can also get 320 kbps mp3s, they are sizeable but sound quality second to none.
  18. Yeah i had the same problem. Are the amps grounded to the same place as the battery? Mine were and then I changed the grounding and the engine noise went away. I think the noise has something to do with the battery cycle, so try changing the grounding. Good Luck G
  19. Yeah ALHAIL is from Newcastle, Jamie the guy that owned it has since sold it though. It is an awesome looking car, genuine veilside kit, clear tail lights, front mount, 19's etc. Don't know what else it has done to it. Have seen it since in the central coast region. Anyways, i asked him where he got the clear tail lights and he said the car came from Japan with them on. So sorry, can't tell you guys where exactly. G
  20. Hey guys, has anyone ever had a clicking sound at startup, that lasts for approx 2 sec and then stops. I'm thinking its got something to do with the starter motor - maybe the shaft needs lubrication or something? I'm worried it may need a complete overhaul? Any of you guys ever had a similar thing happen? Cheers G
  21. Doesn't look like a stocker but certainly doesn't look like a screamer. (Rims, exhaust, bov, airfilter). So yeah probably still goes like a stocker too, unfortunately. Still paying the beast off, so therefore can't make it a screamer. G
  22. I've got a mate going to the US in a couple of weeks so I thought that if I can get the same head unit I want from the states for a couple of hundred bucks cheaper then I would go for it!! So yeah if i was to buy it then all i would need is the am fm band expander. G
  23. Hey, Seeing as a lot of u guys have bought head units from the US or other places, what happens with the radio??? Does it still work, cause I have heard certain sources saying that they don't? I know the standard radio from japan doesn't work so u need a band expander, is this a similar situation to America? Thanks for any help G
