  1. And ppl are bolting the r33 calipers up with no hassels?
  2. OK........Q, i was told z32 brakes would bolt right on my car........how much hassel to get the R33 gtst's?? same? Z32 would be better than NA ones...but obviously R33 better again
  3. www.japanesemotorsport.com.au - saw one here for 400 (less even i think!??), whilst i was trolling through the "parts in stock section" Cheers
  4. www.japanesemorotsport.com.au - saw one here for 395, whilst i was trolling through the "parts in stock section"
  5. Feedback 4 U - I will be trying this on my NA. Will let you know. PS - IM very lazy so dont hold you breath for my "letting you know" could be days, weeks, months!!, most likely when i start to sort out the front end of my car (in a couple of weeks prolly)
  6. Weird, mine has the reverse beeper, but no speed warning, reverse is clearly audible. Is this the same beeper that alets you your headlights are on and keys are in the ignition? How do you stop the keys one, most annoying thing ever. I have NEVER forgoton my keys!!!
  7. I made it alot easier for myself, as my whole stereo is running from an amp, all i really needed was power to run the Head unit and ran a RCA through to the amp and all the noise is taken care of from there.
  8. The power is on a seperate plug with three wires, using a currenty tester you will work out which is acessory and which is power, the third, and left over wire is not earth, and if used so, head unit will work but fuse for rear tail lights and dash lights will blow (yes i found this out the hard way). Moral: Best to run a seperate earth wire. To get it out is relatively easy, just pull the dash apard, mainly the surround of the stereo area and the two stero units are conected to each other on the same brackt and come out as a double din item. Very straight forward and plain easy to work out once you start pulling it all apart. MUCH!! easier than a R33.........but they get an easyier amplifier install.
  9. I heard the tail shaft needs to be replaced aswell?
  10. 2jz is the 3ltr TT, the lexus V8 isnt TT, just NA, but converting to a toyota engine is like playing with the enemy, and most probably VERY expensive and pain in the arse. Mind you the top speed record holder in japan is a supra with an Rb26. If i wanted something different 3ltr RB supercharged. Unique and part of the family
  11. Ive seen a 1jzgte pull 280kw @ wheels on standard turbos.
  12. Be the first 20b TT powered skyline (mightn't be the first but i be betting youd be one of a very small number) OR! i started a thread quite a while back "Supercharging" the rb25de.....one problem was compression (as with tubo), posible fixes were - either rebuild engine, or better still put the Rb30 bottom end and one that was left of the middle but very interesting, millers cycle. All providing the compression drop, a supercharged RB30 should pull some awesome torque figures, be unique, be still in in the RB family and most of all has potential to have quite a decent 1/4 time potential, posibly even easier to launch due to a more linear power curve achieved via the SC giving boost from word go, no waiting for a turbo to spool etc.....in theory anywho.
  13. Im sure you will find one if you shop around. It always pays to search and not to rush into a purchase. Wether it be a single part or a whole car. Hell, post a "wanted to buy" add in the classies on this website, worked a treat when i was looking for bits n pieces for my car. There are alot of ppl with access to parts etc on these forums.
  14. They have them listed on the site addy i gave you for 2k, but bet you could knock em down, like i said they often get a 2 page spread in the front of the monthly HPI with a couple of specials and 1 or 2 issues ago they had the half cuts for 1k......best way to find out is ring and ask.
  15. FOUND IT!! http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...=46788&hl=dusky - its for sale but this list the mods, the guys names james, prolly tell you other specifics if you were keen to do the conversion.
  16. I shall have a look on the NS forums see if anything pops up......
  17. 1000 for a Auto halfcut is pretty standard price. www.justjap.com have halfcuts always on specials etc. Have a squiz. The V.V.T has advantages, the non VVt makes for an easier conversion. Something about having to drill oil gallerys into the block to get the VVt working, where as the non VVT goes on with no further modifications. All documented in the RB30 conversion thread in the forced section
  18. Well yeah, that is the main reason i aint bothing with my car..... If i was to though, i would upgrade everything above the standard turbo model specs(ie: GTR brake upgrade rather than standard m spec 4 spots, Cusco 2way diff etc etc) then it would be valid, Esp if you are planning to go all out and get real serious power, as for converting A GTS to 4wd via gtr half cut.....25k gets you a R32GTR........ just thinking about the headaches it would bring during the conversion would gives me a headache......
  19. Then you got two GTST's, whats the point, go left of the middle, like the V8 conversion by NA_R33, then go one step more and charge it, or some other non skyline engine like the cedrics VQ30DETT, there was a silvia in canberra with this done, pulling a nice healthy 300+kw @wheels, nice light all alloy engine, was for sale not long ago, may still be. The owner is a major member on the NS forums. The VQ30's out of the Cedric are reasonably priced for the half cut to. As are the v8 halfcuts.
  20. A friend of mine asked the guys at one of the workshops where i live about this coz the thought of a Tt engine instead of the standard rb25det sounds like a great improvement. But if you consider the initial purchase of a half cut, 7500 for a R32 GTR one is a good ball park figure. Then include cost of installation, (keeping in mind that Nissan dont want an easy swap, this engine was intended for the pride of the line up, the GTR) your looking at another 5k minimum, and at the end off all that what do you end up with.....a standard RB26 with the standard power output of 206kw (perhaps a bit more if you went and removed the boost restrictor etc). So lets say you have spent 13k along this journey.......13k goes along way towards getting more power out of the exsisting RB25Det. The guys at the work shop reckon close to double with out to much fuss.... Just my 2cents.
  21. Um, i can tell you a K & N replacement airfilter is the same size, as for the box i dont know, in the 33 its very easy to open the airbox, in my R32 GTS25, getting to the airbox open is annoying. I have broken all but 1 clip on mine now. Hope this helps......a touch.
  22. Go to search, look up "supercharging" or "supercharged"or something along those lines, i had a monster thread on this about prolly 9months or more ago. I was keen on the idea, but the means and the $$$ dont justify the end result IMO. I feel the engine bay in my r32 was just to cramped for decent sized charger, and finding turbo accesories is just so much easier, coz thats whats intended. It was decided that a charger worth fitting to justify the hassel was going to cost about 3k........2 k more you got the rb25 half cut.......alot of expensive fabrication and stuffing around, labour costs start to look similar.....but hell!!! I'm all for ppl wanting to be different. So if you wanna do it.........go for it!! P.S - The compression of an NA engine was one of the stumbling pionts, there were 2 ways around this outlined in my thread, i propose a 3rd. Swapping to the N/A series 2 vl bottom end...compression down to 8.5.1 or 8.7.1 - sometihng around that mark
  23. Wow!! With the override button it gives you the option to look like an even bigger looser, more often. Although........... Tactfully placed on an old datsun 120y for amusement purposes, you might be able to pull it off............. might........
  24. I have yet to fit mine as im still saving up a bit of $$ to get them ceramic coated (not to mention find someone who does ceramic coating) But once fitting extractors, your power figure may not jump up, but a lot meatier, more useable band of torque through the lower-midrange of the power delivery should be expected.
  25. ah yes factory options, oops, but still.......generally speaking, factory standard (ie most) will not have those extras, generally
