  1. Hey yeh it could be this (the water oozes out and down and isn't hitting the belts though), i'm used to seeing bubbles when the cars on and the caps off, got worried when it was all frothy (like a cappuccino top) It's odd also to note that when the thermostat opens the water level doesnt drop. If i drive the car it starts frothing once it's seen high-ish rev's, if i keep the rev's low nothing will come out of the cap (which isn't sealing very well) i seem to lose about half a litre of water per drive through the top of the radiator (and i think it has a slow leak also) The noise does seem to be coming from the head (although my first thought was the timing belt was fraying) however and only happens once the car is at operating temp, it sounds fine when it's cold, (and a screwdriver on top of the head is the noisiest) I've just been struggling to figure it out, it only has some of the symptoms of a head gasket and seems to be coming from the top, i'm going to take it to the mech's today, and hopefully it's something like a valve sticking and the radiator problem is just because the cap is sucky Thanks dude
  2. K so checked this out, the AFM thing still happens but it's intermittent and if i fiddle with the wires it fixes anyway My car bubbles out of the radiator.. but only under load, the more rev's you give it the higher the water rises and you start getting a bit of froth, my dad still seems to think it's something other than a head gasket because of the way theres no bubbles at idle at all and they increase with revs.. Also the noise only happens when the engine is cold.. Dad seems to think the noise is inconsistent with a head gasket too (it's sorta like a shuffling noise coming from the head) taking it to protek tomorrow to get it checked out hopefully :<
  3. I put a 12" kenwood in a pretty decent sized box with an amp in the back of my 32 gts-t, probably weighed all up 10-12 kilo's, couldnt notice it but big audio installs like doof's would weigh enough to be noticeable
  4. ah ok, cheers dude!
  5. I might download Liveforspeed tonight when i get home and give it a shot i want forza on pc >.< mountain runs in the mclaren F1 lemans are awesome, physics are insane and traction is non existent
  6. haha i guess pc does have cs.. i borrowed a copy a while ago, and after about 4 hours of playing was still getting slaughtered so i quit my learning curve ends abruptly after 4 hours
  7. Hmm, do you think it's worth my while buying: 640M 8800GTS Generic/Leadtek/Gigabyt /ASUS $452/$489/$499/$499 Or i should just wait for this 8800GT to come out?
  8. ohh that looks alright, have played up to GT4, still think that 2 was the best one of them all ^^ love the older cars and the way cars handle in 2 sucks that PC is all about first person shooters ._.
  9. Ok so i'm struggling to find any decent car games on PC So far i have the following: All the Need For Speed series (which are getting too 2f2f for me) Juiced (same as NFS if u ask me) Colin Mcrae DiRT (is ok, needs mods to get the cars drifting, gets boring too) Test Drive Unlimited (is ok, too much messing around coupled with really crappy game engine messes it up) And from what i can see the only games PC is getting, racing wise at the moment seem to be Racing sims (like v8 supercars and PGR racing etc) I am not a fan of Racing sims.... What i am trying to find is driving sims, like forza and gran turismo but yeh having no luck, does anyone know of any pc car games that aren't racing sims and aren't listed above? oh and i am not a fan of consoles, dunno why

  11. I'm getting a 64 bit vista version atm, just bought a new pc and damn xp can't take over 2gb ram + i'm sick of the same old blue screen bs you guys reckon i will have any chance of running this on medium with 4 gb ddr2 800mhz, asus M2N-E Sli and the 6000+ dual core with only a 256mb 7600GT card? Cards are insanely expensive, a 8800gtx costs the same price as the pc cost me (450)
  12. lack of manual is gay, and i would take the styling of a r32 GTR over it anyday, BUT 11.7 1/4 and some sweet times around nurburg will keep the legacy going
  13. Well it doesn't smell like burnt (my old golf did pretty badly) it smells like nothing, which is why i was sorta confused, the bubbling was there, the tapping noise is there but the water seems to be fine.. albeit a little low I'll drain it all tonight and put new coolant in it and let it idle for a bit tonight, see if it drinks any water I will check it all out with dad tonight and post results tomorrow but i guess any new noises from the head = bad noises, I bought the car 4 months ago, and can finally drive it on Saturday and now this happens bleh thanks dude
  14. I've never actually had one inspected (have rego'd 5 myself), each time i got dropped at vicroads, walked inside and provided the RWC and it was all sweet, they were all roadworthy, but the golf and the vn looked like crap so i wouldn't have wanted anyone going too close. Might just be the greensborough branch though
  15. Whoops did i say top of the engine, sorry i'm a spaz, it's coming out of the radiator cap (which on closer inspection is missing the rubber seal, it's an aftermarket item) the thing that worried me was that it was so foamy (as opposed to bubbly), so i was scared it was a head gasket and must be getting compressed a lil, now i'm not so sure (note, it was getting pushed and the temp gauge stayed still, even though water was down about 1.5 litres). It wasn't running coolant at the time (it had all drained out while it sat in my driveway) as i just topped it up from a jug. There is no white build up on top of the engine cap and the water seems pretty clean, no oil or white crud A blown headgasket is what i was hoping for as i can do that myself, my dad seems to think the bubbling was just overheating/lack of fluid/afm messing around, but i'm not so sure. I was just worried it was a bearing or something, suddenly appearing noises + rb26 freaks me out any other suggestions? thx guys
  16. K so i can finally drive my car as of this sunday, but of course (2 days after losing my job and 1 after my pc breaking) the GTR has decided to mess up on me. It was an AFM problem at first, and as soon as it started stalling after the installation of 2 pods and a catback i got out and fiddled with the wires and it came good. However, driving up the road about 5 minutes later (freeway) and giving it a bit of stick the thing started to cut again ( i guess the wires got messed as the car internals got pushed back) so we pulled over, popped the hood and noticed quite a bit of foamy crap coming out the top of the engine Now i'm pretty sure that there is a waterleak and the temp was still dead on middle on the gauge (water needed 1.5 L to refill) but the car started making a new noise, sounded sorta like a rubbing noise, except it seems to be coming from the head (it's not a belt or anything) i was thinking/hoping that this noise may have been because i had insufficient water/cooling, and maybe the pump was running a bit dry? or any other suggestions? It has never done this noise b4 and i am going crack hunting tonight to seal it up Thx dudes
  17. Yeh, alot of up top, especially cape york and springs is pretty 4wd only, i've seen aboriginal blokes managed it in XF fords and crappy old holdens, but they're nutters, definitely would keep my gtr away from it ^^ theres plenty of paved stuff though if you dont want to go to the extremeties
  18. get a xr6 T or xr8 ute, and only drive it in work times? or tell your boss that if anyone asks u work night shifts.. that way when the cops call him up he can vouch for you and you'll be right.. might pay to keep a ladder and some tools in the tray too
  19. This exact same thing happened to me on sunday night. I had just put a 3" cat back on and was going for a spin (my pc had just broken to zzz)and the car started stalling and playing up so i pulled over and fiddled with the AFM wires until the idle returned to normal (i had just put on pod filters) i also had what looked like froth coming out of the radiator (as opposed to bubbles) but the car wasn't overheating and was dead on center Only problem with mine is now it's making a noise (not overly loud, probably about as loud as the injectors but a bit less harsh), screw driver indicates it's coming from the head, so idk what happened but i'm guessing when the AFM frigged up it over stressed something and something broke or was badly worn (it still drives ok) Just my luck, 5 days till i can finally drive it and it farks up along with the pc and the job i quit on friday ._.
  20. 300rwkw in a gts-t would pull away from a gtr pretty easily.. maybe not up to 100 but from a rolling start no probs (e.g. 2nd and up)
  21. Yeh, thanks for that, the rim's i'm going to get are going to have a very low profile tyre on them to keep the same OD, have just seen big rims on cars before and thought they'd look much better lowered, whereas with the standard ones, it's not so much of a concern as they're boring already hehe
  22. GTAAAH

    Rim Request

oh cheers, damn they look crud with the gunmetal :S damn
  23. haha damn u have some too, at least ur in sydney so not gonna be two running around, i saw a gunmetal gtr with GTAHH the other day in the same burb as me, was spewing Cheers guys for the info, will have to look at getting something adjustable these are gonna sit way too high with 18's
  24. Hey, i noticed the other day that my rear suspension is GAB branded and has an adjustable dial on it (cant remember what it says, Stiff/soft/2 other settings) Just wondering if this will adjust ride height And assuming it does, more importantly are my fronts adjustable or just standard GTR issue Pics enclosed
