Could be the AFM, Coil Packs, plugs or any number of things I wouldn't worry about the Exhaust temp sensor, have a squizz through: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t186472.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t186513.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t183963.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t187342.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t186359.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t180944.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t185331.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t184031.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t127057.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t136683.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t114981.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t124285.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t32356.html And the thread i stole the links from http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t187935.html Best option might be to take it to a decent performance shop that know's RB's and get them to test it, could save u alot of money

JJR Coil Packs Vs Oem Vs Splitfire Vs Other
GTAAAH replied to 4drftn's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Um, just to update my purchase of the JJR's, haven't tested but 1 is crooked it in the bracket, any1 else running JJR's had this? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t187940.html -
Anyone else? i don't know if i'll be able to tell if they are working 100% as i am not sure if my current ones are shagged hehe
-
oO really, you can see the angle in the small previews.. hmm i'll take some more with flash Uploaded... Hum much better, my camera fone sucks ass when ur not using flash ^^
-
Hey all, about to do the install my new JJR coilpacks and noticed that one of the coilpacks is crooked in the mount I know the boots are rubberized so it will probably still plug in alright, and the angle isn't too acute but would you just install this pack or get it refunded/replaced (which will be a pain in the ass, but..) SEE PICS IN 3RD POST, MUCH BETTER QUALITY

Weird, coulda sworn that the thread on my rb20 was flush with the hole but i guess i'm tripping out ^^ Another useless post from me

Exhaustss.. Any Xforce Varex Experiences?
GTAAAH replied to GTAAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
OH really, humm, i'll have to check out if they come with warranty Also someone pointed out in another thread that these are illegal so would be a gamble buying one.. but i'm yet to have a cop look into or under my exhaust (and i've been defected enough) to find out if it's adjustable so i think i'd be sweet, i would still take it off and throw the stocker on for EPA meetings though.. On the test on the site they had a wrx reading 81-85 with butterfly closed and 95-98 with it open so plenty of quiet shut and plenty of noise open -
oO damn thats meatt as, i'd be hoping that the previous owner broke it and pulled the chunk out

Looking For A Quiet Exhaust? Review: Kakimoto Regu 06&r
GTAAAH replied to sewid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Oh wait really? i noticed on the site they said for off-road/track use only but that's a disclaimer so i didn't think it'd matter That sucks, i didn't think they were that common that the cops would know about, guess it won't be long before they are looking up the throat of the exhaust zz, also guess if i ever had to take it in for an EPA i would have to take it off I guess i'll either just leave my hks super dragger on and change to the standard one every time i get EPA'd or take a shot and go for the xforce as i know cops around my area won't pick it at all -
Yeh the boost controller is illegal, you'll have to plumb it back to standard for the EPA You should be right to pass unless you've changed the ecu

Exhaustss.. Any Xforce Varex Experiences?
GTAAAH replied to GTAAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeh, that + the constant heat was a bit of a worrying factor, anyone else? -
Just wondering if anyone here has tried one of the Xforce Varex Mufflers as i am interested in purchasing one for my R32 GTR and eventually hope to achieve around 350awkw ( http://xforce.com.au.tmp.anchor.net.au/cars/view_car/29 ) They have an adjustable butterfly in the middle of the zorst that re-routes exhaust gas's back through the muffler a few times when butterfly is closed, to make it quiet (but not completely cut of gas's), and with butterfly open run the standard 3/3.5/4" diameter piping Any experiences or suggestions would be appreciated Also will the stock 32 gtr dump - cat system flow 350 all wheel or should i look at getting a turbo back? (Xforce sell the muffler but not any piping so i would probably have to get a full 3" exhaust system and cut the muffler that comes with it off.. which seems like a big waste) chizeers

Looking For A Quiet Exhaust? Review: Kakimoto Regu 06&r
GTAAAH replied to sewid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Oh, yeh i just noticed that, i went into options for r32 gtr and they only sell full systems but there mufflers can be adapted, i wasn't sure if they sell them without a full system they have a vid on there site of a rex getting 81-85 db then opening the butterfly and getting 95-98 so yeh i'll be getting 1 of these, wanted a full system though, guess im gonna have to buy a system and then get the muffler taken off and a new 1 fitted sry hijacks! -
Looking For A Quiet Exhaust? Review: Kakimoto Regu 06&r
GTAAAH replied to sewid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeh, kakimoto seems like a good option but at only 90db it will be too quiet (i like rb burble) Just had a look on Xforces site and it doesn't seem like they make those mufflers with the adjustable butterfly set up for 32 gtr's =( Turbo-Back System(R32 GTR) Including: 1)Twin Split Dumpipe; 2)3.5" Hi-flow Mettalic Cat; 3)3.5" middle section with oval resonater; 4)3.5" rear section with angle-out cannon muffler. exhaust sound clip. I'm guessing the "exhaust sound clip" is one of those pieces of metal with a 1.5" hole drilled in it that you place over the front of the exhaust zz! I'll make my own thread to try find an adjustable volume muffler so i don't steal yours hehe -
Looking For A Quiet Exhaust? Review: Kakimoto Regu 06&r
GTAAAH replied to sewid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ah yeh thats the one, couldn't remember what they were called, was just curious to find out if they make a 3" (as in 3"+ through the muffler) application to fit 32 gtr's or if anyone has used one of these before I'm aiming for around 350awkw and need something that flows -
Looking For A Quiet Exhaust? Review: Kakimoto Regu 06&r
GTAAAH replied to sewid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well i am looking for a quiet exhaust that still flows and this one is appealing but at 90db it'd almost all be engine noise (and i can't stand the engine noise) so i was thinking of going (already have 3" system) with one of those adjustable DB ones that use a butterfly to recirculate the exhaust gasses through another chamber and you can adjust how loud u want it in cabin by adjusting the butterfly Has anyone ever used one of these? I want something that will be 100-110db whilst open but run at around 85-90 when closed (sooo sick of changing from hks super dragger muffler to stock one every time i get defected) -
lol.

GTAAAH replied to 4drftn's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I've just purchased a set of the JJR ones, hella cheap at $399, i have a missfire of sorts, hopefully these fix it Is it worth replacing the wiring harness that goes to the packs? Are these prone to having connection problems? cheers -
Weird Noise, Lack Of Performance.. Doesnt Seem Like Missfire
GTAAAH replied to GTAAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ah really, i had ruled AFM out because my friend who has just put a z32 afm on his gts-t is getting the same noise through.. hmm, i'll have to find sum1 with a gtr and gank an AFM out of it -
Weird Noise, Lack Of Performance.. Doesnt Seem Like Missfire
GTAAAH replied to GTAAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
OH yeh asking about the GTR, i kept confusing myself but yeh, got the same probs on both of them so was assuming it had to be the same thing causing it coz it sounded and seemed exactly the same :edited out the gtst bit, was confusing as hell lol: the gtr is totally standard, standard boost etc Also the gapping is just a fix for screwed packs anyway isn't it really? -
Mm, so i have this weird missfire-like problem in my GTR The sound isn't really coming from the engine (my old gts-t used to missfire and you could hear it at the engine, totally different sound and it would dramatically affect engine behaviour, not just slow the revving down a bit) it sounds more like it's coming through the turbo, like a surging sucking sound, except more like a sprinkler like it's sucking and cutting off reallly fast. It only happens at high revs in 2nd or 3rd gear, and i have changed gap on the gtr a few times, and tried 1 and .8 regaps and it still happens. But yeh, it doesn't seem like a missfire (compared to other missfires, where they've made the engine all jittery and sounded like revs cutting), and changing gaps and plugs, and checking coils for cracks made no difference So yeh, any suggestions? atm im just thinking i should go get some splitfires and throw em in coz they gonna need to be replaced eventually anyway
