  1. EDIT: PITCHA INSERTED http://img477.imageshack.us/img477/341/lineupxt8.jpg
  2. Sorry guys, couldn't find this topic it got flooded away from me State is Victoria
  3. errr having to do one of these courses to get off your P's? I did one with my work a while ago, didn't really learn anything that i didn't gather from common sense myself.. Making it mandatory to get off your P's will just hurt peoples pockets.. Unless there really crap/stupid drivers i guess..
  4. Oh, so you reckon the problem is something serious, and not just fuel or timing related?
  5. Ok so this gtr that i'll probably be getting (r32 gtr, 93 model) is making noises and dying out above 6k. It's sort of like a intermittent ticking sound, that sounds like somethings blocked or ecu is cutting fuel a tiny bit or something is hampering the performance, and it's sort of popping a bit. It only has 91 octane fuel in it at the moment as my dad was being a cheap ass, so i'm hoping it's just this but, i wouldn't think it'd have such an effect. The dying is not a fuel cut or other cut, it's not that big and it seems sort of like blocked injectors, just above 5500rpm it doesn't seem to increase in speed, just maxes out. i know the car has had afm troubles in the past and they have been replaced, so maybe something has let go in that area, but i'd expect to notice the trouble lower in the rev range Any suggestions? I'm having a comp test done today, to check what condition the engine is, was just hoping it couldnt be turbo or anything like that Also is a bit of a diff whine at low speeds, e.g. creeping in 1st, normal in these? thanks EDIT: Just got the compression test results, and it got 185 across the board, so i'm assuming the test was done with the car warm [b/]
  6. Mine on 12psi using a turbotech boost controller and 3" zorst used to hit 12 psi then drop to about 11, and before the controller used to go from 10 psi - 8.6/9psi i had heard it was pretty normal for the stock turbo to drop a bit, considering the size, if that helps
  7. I never got pulled over driving like a nob, and i don't wear a hat or anything while driving, neither did my car stick out much, a r32 gts-t with some 17" rims that looked like 16"s and totally stock everything else, and yet i was getting pulled over at least once a week. I guess it depends on where u live, but every time i saw a cop i knew i was getting pulled over, even if he had to do a u-bolt. I live near eltham area, but most of the times i was pulled over i was in preston or on the way to/from the city, and i think 90% of the times i was pulled over i was defected for something... very rarely something defective mind you
  8. Selling the plates LIN3UP (Lin3up) , Black with white letters, great looking plates Will go well on a skyline or other car (Line up at the lights/on the strip, police line up, line up to look etc etc ^^) I would like $900 for them, but make me an offer! Vic platess come on, these have never been on any car b4 ! (i got them then decided i wanted a gtr, so got gtr plates)
  9. http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....howtopic=221093 clicky, these are soo freaking harsh, they better not ever hit victoria, the mod on boost seems to think these are definitely coming into play
  10. WTB R34 Rims with/without tyres, PM me
  11. omg i also love you, this craps been annoying me for months, every time i want to read more than the first post in a topic i had to click Lo-fi version.
  12. I wonder how well this would go down if they implied loose females speed, like they should ^^ There would be an uproar, but as long as they stick to dissing blokes out, most cbf (although it shits me a bit) And i mean, the burnout in the xr6 was more of a skid.. he didn't even stand still... then the guy in a celica who is probably not even speeding, fails to stop for some random ped crossing the road... last time i checked u didn't have to stop to let people cross the road.. thats what traffic lights are for.. and in the 3rd one, how gay would you have to be to do that in the back of your mates car.. they'd be walking home if i was driving...RTA...Retarded They Are?
  13. brb 3 months then, i'm sure the story will be the same
  14. I couldn't disagree more. I used to drive to lots of places on the weekend and getting pulled over/defected was something i expected every night, and usually happened. I got pulled over a total of 12 times on the way to and from work, and quite a few more driving on saturday/sunday nights. I got defected quite a bit, and only once was i defected for something that was illegal.. (was defected for boost controller.. every other time was things like, handbrake clicking 7 times instead of 6, one in-cabin light not working, number plates not clear (?) aftermarket bov (stock) and anything else they could think up) In my valiant on the other hand (see DP) i get pulled over occasionally but cops are always polite and just want a chat, some ask me to pop the hood, see the 318 and don't even question whether i can drive a 250hp 1350kg car on my P's.. import = rape..
  15. Hey, what part of melbourne are you in, is it the original spray job or a respray (might just be the sunlight on the frontbar) and is the price negotiable?
  16. thanks guys.. just got handed a VN commodore, on gas, needing a new headgasket.... ewww.... but... free car, i'll probably replace the gasket and sell it for 2-3k, im sure the gas is a good sale point. but.. might just keep it too ¬¬
  17. hehe nevermind that i just want a car i can drive to work every day, doesn't look too much like a mums car and has more balls than the 91 corolla im driving at the moment (i think rolla would probably beat a na ca18 silvia but meh)
  18. yeh retro, there will be alot less sidewall on stretched tyres, so less movement, but better to just go a lower profile and have the same size footprint on the road, like you've done now, than stretch the crap outta them and scrooge up your traction
  19. well i guess i could budget for a 5k car then.. Forgot to mention i just got my L's! so no half decent bikes for me a series 1 rx7 would be nice, but sucks to rebuild it all the time
  20. CA18 silvia for 4k? what year would that be? ha your right found a 1989 for 4k, too bad it's an auto heh as for an r30 didn't even cross my mind, i'll look the figures up, thanks
  21. ok so i don't want a r32 gtr anymore (because too many dodgy ones, with bad paint or rusted rails or engines that could randomly blow up), i don't like r33's and an r34 is out of my price range. Theres other cars i like but there all around 30k and i don't really want to spend more than 20. sooo logical conclusion is a cbr250rr and a crappy old 3-4k RWD car to screw around in. bike = fast and fun RWD = fun and daily driver So i was thinking a 86 model corolla (a sprinter? those initial D ones)or an older datto/corolla/ta22 celica (i'm talking good nick and decent quality so i would prefer not to need to go 70's, which is why i need your 80 model suggestions) I want to avoid fords holdens and r31's, and anything else big. Any suggestions? it can't be totally gay, has to be sorta cool/ok. would get a mk1 golf gti but they fwd and fwd = sucks T_T
  22. yeh, like he said, it's got no real practical purpose but to look cool I guess on drift cars, the less tyre on the road (at the back) = the better, so stretched tyres = less on the road (because they bulge in the middle) from a grip standpoint, your getting less tread on the road though
  23. Get a DRIFT one if u like loudness ;P loudest pods i've heard
  24. Do that then check your battery, i know of a r32 and a silvia who had the same problem, and when the battery's eventually needed replacing the windows went up like twice as quick
  25. Hmm thanks, starting to get an idea.. So we could muse that a stock r32 gtr that run a 13.0 1/4 in AWD mode on street tyres, would run a 13.2 second 1/4 in RWD mode on street tyres (pulling the fuse, so same weight)?
