  1. That's so farked... worst cop story i've heard yet..... not like you on your P's either I'd be talking to a lawyer about some of that stuff.. if i had 1.. *considers that maybe an SS is a better option than a GTR*
  2. Might just be that they weren't properly bedded in, i think it's only the older asbestos (?) pads that squeaked because of what they were made of. Non bedded in/not properly bedded in brakes = squeeeeak
  3. damn i only have around 25k at the moment, would love an rx7 but the cheap ones i see for around 20k look crud and the decent ones are 30k+ gl with the sale, and if u get desperate, pm me
  4. I don't think the Dyno will be a big problem with simple mods.. Cars are listed at the fly so any dyno'ing they do will read at least 15kw lower than the stock figure. But blanket bans suck. There will be alot more falcodore drivers (holden and ford = monopoly on p plate market thanks to the new rules... conspiracy) learning there skills in VN's and XT's.. awesome.. Will probably be alot more P Platers who couldn't give a rats about there cars too, knowing that their current bomb is there only to fill the gap between 18 and 21 when they can legally drive something decent
  5. Yeh, they all have these (mines at about 107) because presumably 110 is the highest speed u can go in japan legally on the road. There was a DIY a while back about disabling it (might have been in general maintenance section) try there, it's just a wire that needs snipping Mine stops at 120 then i can drop back down to 110 without it coming on again
  6. really, i swear it smells sickly and feral, never notice it when putting 91 in the rolla, always gag when line/val gets filled, next time u go check it out *not to self, stop sniffing petrol*
  7. Ehhhhhhhhh serious, 98 and unleaded smell heaps different, the 98 has a sickly sweet after taste as well as the underlying unleaded smell, i always assumed this was due to the ethanol
  8. not really, just wondering if it would have only been 140 if it had been a vn and not a line most cops i've met/know looove exaggeration
  9. Yeh well u can get a good engine, but i'll be putting some larger turbo's onto it and hunting 300ish rwkw and i know they're getting old and that alot of stock ones blow, so i just wanted some simple checks i can do, so i don't have to take every car i look at to the mech's straight away
  10. how did they catch him, i mean those SS's are fairly quick but assuming he was going at least 120km/h faster than them when they saw him i don't think he'd have struggled to get away.. That would also = an estimated speed if they were driving, and i know that if the car was stationary when they saw the gtr they wouldn't have seen him again.. so maybe 200 is an exaggeration?
  11. Ok so i've been looking at alot of r32 gtr's lately and to tell truth the only ways i really have (besides the comp/leakdown tests that i will do later) of checking if an engine is in ok condition is by the sound of it, a screwdriver to various parts of the block and intake, a look at the exhaust colour and a squizz at the oil filler cap, opening it whilst the car is running and the dipstick and thats about it. Whats a good quick and easy test to do or thing to look at, engine wise, before you go to all the effort of getting a comp/leakdown? Just that most of the r32's in melb that are currently for sale haven't been rebuilt, and i'm certain any rb26 that hasn't been rebuilt will likely blow up within the first year of me driving, so i'd like as much engine life as possible before having to get it rebuilt ty
  12. 1/4 mile times for a stock 32 and 33 gts-t are very similar, 33 is about .1 of a second quicker, so i guess the 500cc more the 33 has makes up for the 80-100kg more the 33 has. Also series 2 r33's are acceptable but series 1? dammmmmmmmm camry/magna things Also r32's with non type M front bars look very plain ._. Moral of the story is get a valiant i believe.. Have i just PO'd every GTS-T owner posting in this thread :sorcerer:
  13. Well i do get pretty decent wheel/tyre deals so it shouldn't be a problem. Was that cluster put in since you bought it or did it come from japan? Also any stacks, and is it original paint?
  14. yeh, aardvark ftw
  15. This thing still for sale, have u had it up here before or did i see it elsewhere Really nice looking car, *awaits leakdown/comp test results* You can't sell with the rims originally pictured can you? not a fan of the BBS'
  16. I don't think the arguement is NA V Turbo.... It's NA SKYLINE V TURBO SKYLINE... Big difference... And i'm sorry but people who are saying that stock for stock a gts has more on tap around a course than a gts-t can't drive... It's not so difficult to drop the car back a gear, or kick the clutch a little if you've gone into a corner too slow or braked too much.. Not to mention that the turboes on a stock gts-t spool very low.. Also, i've been in quite a few RB30E powered 31/vl's and the pickup isn't exactly great.. and the top end is nothing amazing.. definitely not the kind of engine i'd choose over a slightly lower capacity turbo'd six...
  17. Yeh, it's ok on idle but once lights are on and it's idling it starts to do that, i've tried a new battery and that didnt help (which confused me because you'd think a fully charged battery would at least run sufficient voltages until it is flat) Been told it could be power steering pump (which i dont agree with) so now it's either new alternator or try a capacitor or something (has expensive stezza, but problem happens even when stereo not on soo yeh)
  18. He's probably just some lame piggeh advertising the site to get some hits.. It's funny that that pag has only had 33 hits and this topic has been opened 65 times.. Not as many VE SS fans on SAU as one might think
  19. Most annoying thing ever.. Goes from light to heavy..Always intermittent, and topping up fluids and recharging battery doesnt help at all. turning car off then on seems to fix it... for about 5 minutes..Cant do the hicas diagnostic either because it's too damn difficult to get started... Then suddenly it's gone and replaced by the steering wheel that jumps around, a loud clunking and the hicas light flicking, whenever your at lights with stereo or your lights on..
  20. that 300 isn't bad but that 32 gtr is soo hot if i had the time and money i'd go that way for sure I'm also 'matting' the engine bay on the val soon.. it's all masked off just need to find the day or two it's going to take zz
  21. I don't mind them if they're done right.. I've seen a few old 8's in matt black that look tuff and a r32 gtst in matt (with 500 odd kw) that looked decent. would love a mk1 golf gti in matt, lowered with some 17" Y spokes.. mmmm
  22. I wouldn't say better hehe, sounds kinda ghey to me, it's sort of like the air fluttering sound that i like except about 10 times higher pitched and squealy. Look up "r32 dose" in youtube for a reference, theres a few on there with under engine vids, relocated afm's and the that
  23. Yeh, like he said you won't make much power because of the low comp ratio. Also the car will still say it's a R34 GTT on the chassis or vin and the rego so cops can probably still dog you (especially if they don't know what a turbo is and where to look fo rit)
