  4. Hey, sorry to hijack your thread dude, got a question for djr81.. alot of people on this site say compression test AND leak down test.. I thought you only need do the leak down test if the comp test fails(??)because the leak down test is designed to show you where your losing compression :S
  5. I thought you didn't like turbo'd cars? you always seem to post against them, get the NA supra or a NA 300zx if u wan't jap and are worried about owning/driving a turbo'd car, they both go alright and are around 15k
  6. It's not always engaged, you should have a little torquemeter, on the top left of your instrument panel, it's basically RWD then it engages AWD and adjusts the split as it's needed, and yeh you lose power.. but if your talking in the wet then you gain speed
  7. I'm yet to see any state allow for this +-10% leeway you guys are talking about.. Pretty sure all have the 3 km/h rule, i've seen proably 500 fines in the last 6 months from all different states too.. maybe it's an NT or TAS thing or those documents are out of date
  8. Ey, consider this a free bump, but what is the final drive ratio? i've never understood it.. is it the diff ratio or summat?

  10. yeh with 150rwkw your probably alright, the GTR is a better base (for me) to build on in the long run and that + sexiiiiiness is why i chose it go for a drive in one, it's amazing how well they hold on and how much torque the 26 has.. only problem is they sorta feel slow :S i think it might be something to do with the way the boost comes on or something but my GTS-T felt faster stock than this does.. Speedo indicates otherwise
  11. i had a 32 gts-t went to a 32 gtr.. the gtr is alot tighter (its a 93 so thats probably why) and looks ALOT better than the gts-t.. It is pretty quick too, maybe a lil faster than the gts-t (which had bigger turbo etc) but the main pull for me was the AWD.. especially since u can disconnect it and go rwd if you like.. AWD means being able to actually put the power down to the ground and thats what i needed, 180kw in my gts-t sent me all over the road (new owner has 210 with standard actuator running a bigger turbo and it gets shiet all traction) so i guess that + looks is why i wanted to upgrade especially considering i am aiming for about 320awkw and the rb20 couldnt do that neither could a rb25 without a fair bit of work.. i don't like 33's or 34 gtt's so i stuck with 32 and went the model up

  13. O.o engine noise? V8's hands down.. Even a crap 8 with a nice set of extractors and a decent carby will sound mean, when we're talking a tuned 8 they sound heaps better... The whoosh turbo cars have is cool but it is pretty queer when it's louder than your under-bonnet engine noise and almost louder than your exhaust (which is generally pretty droney and boring anyway) ._. That's my opinion anyway.. I reckon my GTR sounds pretty girly.. Also that car thing up the top sounded crap, sounded alright till like 3k rpm then it sounded like a 4 lol could just be the headphones though
  14. ahh ok, love those rims, thought you musta been selling the car with the stockies on or something, what're the rims called? they would look sex on my gtr. Just wandering past as usual, Green street sucks, every morning i get out of my corolla and walk past a porsche workshop and then as if that's not bad enough P1 is sitting there laughing heh

  16. Ohh ok, i had a squizz through it, and just seemed to be alot of talk about jim berry or smtn!^^ i'll look into twin plates.. ones ive seen are insanely expensive
  17. Hmm so the current clutch in my GTR (i believe its an exidy brass button thing) has died and i need a new one, however i dont want the same type! It was too hard to push in, impossible to ride and when u changed gears snapped on too hard (= diff whine now) So basically the clutch im looking for is a clutch that is close to the standard 32 GTR clutches (in way of riding a little at take off and not being impossible to push in) but can take alot of crap as well (im aiming for around 320kw) Do i actually have any options? thanks

  19. Yer like GTST said my old car was hitting what i was guessing was R&R, turned out the AFM was shagged from running too high boost (bad manual tap with + and - reversed = infinite boost) z32 = fixed
  20. Is it a highflowed 32 or 33 turbo?
