  1. Because they are awesome... look good, go hard, reliable, and great value for money... A few cases in point:
  2. Yeah, if he wants the kind of power he is talkin about out of a GTR, that is a daily, AND for less than $30k.... I just dont think its a good idea.
  3. 300kw at the wheels is pretty decent power. You are going to need to change turbo's, ecu, tune, injectors, fuel pump (depening on what it comes with), clutch (depening on what it comes with), exhaust (depening on what it comes with), to put that power down you will also need good tyres/suspension (depening on what it comes with). Its kind of a hard power level because if you want 200-250kw at all 4 or less you could do it without having to change as much, but beyond that you are really going to need turbos and then all the supporting mods they require. Also if you plan on driving it daily and you hammer it, the stock internals probably wont last. All I can say to you is that GTR's are NOT cheap, particularly if you have got a few mods, also if you buy a cheap example and mod it up you a really going to want a rebuild otherwise it will just blow up and with that and mods you will be looking at over $30k. If you went for a 34 GT-T it would be cheaper and with the right turbo / ecu you could get that power but I don't know why anyone wants a car with 300kw at the rear wheels for the road... You wont be able to utilise the power. If I were you, I would buy an s15 for about $22k (one that has decent wheels and tyres already and most have exhaust system). Then you just buy intercooler, power fc and get a decent tune and you will have just under 200rwkw in a car that weighs <1,300kg... It will be plenty fast and fun to drive and also be useable and for less than $30k. thats my 2 cents anyway.
  4. Wow, that is a beautiful car. Some bigger photo's would help you sell it but it looks clean as. The engine bay looks mint! G/l with sale.
  5. If you get a "fast" of your car then it will tell you the engine # of the engine that the car came out of the factory with. Cross check those to the actual engravings in the engine bay, if it matches fast then it should be the original engine. I forget where the engine # is engraved... but from memory it was not all that easy to find but it may be different for r32 compared to 34 etc.
  6. VIN # and Engine # are two different things. They will not be the same number. The VIN # is the Vehicle Identification Number and is also referred to as the Chassis number. The Engine # relates to the engine only.

  8. +1,000,000
  9. Yellow Stagea on Nepean around 1.30 this afternoon with SAU stickers. Looked clean!
  10. You should note that 'personal imports' are not subject to the above restriction relating to build dates. Cheers.
  11. Viper So when you lock the car it says 'viper armed'... the ladies will be creamin' in their jeans....fa show!
  12. +1 They can look good outside with some tasteful mods and can go fkn hard but the interior is pure camry...
  13. With a low budget you can just forget about the GTR. Even doing lots of labour yourself, if you buy one that is cheap and need to fix a lot of things you will be in for serious coin! Out of your remaining list i would go the AE86. They have the biggest cult status, would be a fun car and would hold its value the best imo. If you wanted some inspiration then refer below:
  14. Nice & clean!
  15. A dark 32GTR this morning, boundary rd. Had normal spoiler removed with only lip spoiler, i think c/f bonnet, and dark wheels... looked really tuff, you gave me a beep as I passed (in white 32). Nice example though!
  16. Yeah, not sure what mag, i downloaded it from somewhere ages ago... its not my scan - i wish i had the mag itself.
  17. True... the 0-100km/h times its even more impressive. 4.8secs... the competition are in 6/7sec bracket, haha.
  18. R32 GT-R: 13.1s (refer article below, its not the clearest scan)
  19. Cheers.
  20. Nah i doubt thats was me, cause that is not my number plate and both my headlights work. Although i was on eastlink on Sunday afternoon but i dont think i had the lights on cause it was midday.
  21. Hey, I'm pretty sure that was me. I remember seeing your r31 because I was going to cut infront of you but there wasnt room
  22. Pic from the weekend:
  23. Of the 20 Z tunes ever built, One was imported into Australia by Powerplay imports.
  24. What series 3?? You can get cheap examples of 32, 33 and 34 gtr's because they were mass production vehichles... so outside rare models and immaculate condtion examples they will just keep going down as they get older. I wont ever sell mine though, so dont really care.
