  1. Like you said, everyone is different I do appreciate advancements. If you dont like that stuff then there is a massive second hand car market to choose from. I think new cars like the new GTR that deliver performance improvements show progress and a step forward. But that is me.
  2. The Camaro is an American car (the vast majority of their cars are well behind those from Europe and Japan) the R34 GTR is Japanese. The R34 is better built, more advanced I am sure faster on a track. The Camaro is a car that will turn heads.... and it has a fat V8 like countless other American cars. So if you want heads turning and a big engine then the Camaro is better... until it falls apart.
  3. Haha, Gotta love the internet... can't hide anything! Otherwise though, $9.5k for a clean series II R33 gts-t is pretty reasonable man! I would not buy this one though given the above.
  4. As a result of the GFC / GM's bankruptcy the organisation will be decreasing its range and focusing on cars that are profitable etc. Further to this, GMH were unable to present a business case in the current market for a RHD Camaro and it will therefore not be built in RHD. Perhaps if things change by the time a series II comes out it may be considered again?? However, right now both GM and GMH are looking at offering less model rather than more.
  5. I'll put it this way... Which would you choose: While its not the be all and end all, it is an indication of how the car has been looked after. As said above, the kilometer's that are displayed are rarely accurate so I would not really use that as a factor in assessing the car's condition.
  6. OMFG! This just proves the point. I know as does just about everyone on this forum that there are lots of cheap GTR's on j-spec. Go to Japan and have a look at the crap they auction for these prices and comare it for the GTR's for sale in dealerships. Believe it or not most of these cars that go to auction are cheap because they are crap, nobody in Japan wants them.... "You get what you pay for"
  7. Wow. What a bunch of crap. All the cars you are talking about are shit boxes. When I was in Japan I saw a few R32 GTR's selling for $45,000 AUD at a dealership unlike most of the auction crap you are talking about. Engine condition is not important????? Ahhh ofcourse, I was getting it wrong all this time. Next car I buy I wont even inspect or test in any way because nothing matters as long as its cheap.
  8. Or you could just admit you can't afford one and just deal with it! I want an R35 but don't come on here saying they are too expensive because I don't have $155,800 sitting around. It is really annoying when people complain about prices of various cars that they want... "I want an skyline with the turbo thingy and i have $900 govt grant that I saved, why are they all so expensive?"... Please read a basic economics text book.
  9. Try the R32 pics thred: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...20#entry4688081 Its up to page 132 now... so there are a lot of pics for you to look through.
  10. This is a car that I am pretty sure is from sau somewhere... Needs the spoiler in my opinion.
  11. R35, Kingsway tunnel under crown (inbound), bout 6pm.
  12. yeah, im glad they went back and tested a gtr without the limiter! Such an impressive car. Shame Top Gear aus is soo lame. Top Gear UK is back now though, new episode showed in the UK last night.
  13. ^ haha, i had the same when i was in my parents magna one night....
  14. Just flicked on to Top Gear and they revealed results of some study that showed a skyline gtr had the highest sex appeal in the eyes of the women surveyed compared with other car like porsche 911 gt3, holden ute etc... I always thought most women saw skylines as shit boxes
  15. Hey, I think that was me, I waved at a 33 that looked like your on stud rd yesterday..
  16. still for sale people.
  17. Oh, one other thing - if the hail has damaged the roof then that can lead to the car being classified as a write off. Its different for different states, but its something you might need to check if you get serious about buying the car.
  18. I'm not a panel beater but respray's have a huge range of prices. But as a minimum I would think $2k just for the respray is your lowest price, add the cost of fixing up countless dents from hail etc... you are realistically going to be comming up pretty close to the $8k total I would think. A car like that would be perfect for someone wanting to track/drift (if its a sportscar) or just a runabout shitter that you don't care about. I think it would be better to buy a car in good nick from the start rather than buy this car, and have to put it straight in the shop for a month or more... G/l either way.
  19. I have had mine for more than 18months now. While it is technically my 'daily' car there are many weeks where I dont need it for work, others i use it everyday. Mine has an 8-puk button clutch which is HEAVY! While this is not fun in traffic and with my exhaust the cars loudness can be annoying at times, I find that most of these things are easily forgotten compared to the joy of driving it. It is truely unlike any car I have driven and every time I start it up I am glad to own it. I am not saying it is the best car ever or anything, and to many people it may be just a car, but for me i really love it, and when you have that you can forgive the car for things like heavy clutches etc. With the amount of driving you are doing I think it would be fine. Mine averages 13.8lt/100km which sounds like what you are used to anyway. If you do get one, be sure to post it up!
  20. pics? will you sell just front 2 seats? rails included? Have a mate that might be interested...
