A tool in a grey 33 coupe with a car sales sticker on the rear window at 9:30 tonight in the back roads of Narre Warren South decided to cut me off at a roundabout then speed of as fast as his car could take him through a residential neighborhood with a 50kph limit. Nice one buddy.
  5. All this power debate is somewhat useless as the R35 is a complete performance package. If a 300KW R32 - R34 GTR was at a set of lights with a 300KW R35, even though they may have the same KW at the wheels, the R35 is going to obliterate all of them. There is more to this car than KW figures. The DSG gearbox was a gift from god, changing gears with with your foot flat to the floor, not shifting a gearstick or taking your foot off the accelerator is a pretty sureal experience for the first time and is another reason why this car accelerates so quickly. I have a bit of real world experience on the street vs many other makes of cars and of course skylines (Don't take what I am saying as boasting just as a FIRST HAND description of the capabilities of any R35 from an actual owner) so far the only cars that have managed to beat the R35 are a 420KW at the wheels R33 and a stroked 7.4litre twin turbo VY Monaro. All from a rolling start, given a standing start (which neither owner wanted to do) it would be no contest. With a few mods on the 35 and it would be beating these previous mentioned vehicles from a rolling start as well. My point here is that it is not all about HP and KW. The R35 is a screamer for many other reasons.
  6. Black 35 on Collins street in the CBD around lunch time on Tuesday. Grey 35 out bound on the SE freeway around the Hallam exit at about 7:30 this morning. I flashed my lights at you.
  7. Are you thinking of selling any of these parts? I wouldn't mind getting the padded bit with the 2 airvents that goes above the glove box lid in this pic.
  8. Your right, the build dates they talk about does make it confusing as they are always a year in advance.
  9. A VIV is not that hard at all. All you need to do is take the car to your local VIV authorized agent, mine was the local Ford service department. You need to pay for the VIV and bring in all the receipts for any parts and/or labour used to fix the car. They will want all receipts as they want to make sure the parts aren't stolen. As long as the repairs are done properly you will have no problems. They give you your certification which you take to Vic roads along with the rwc which you get after the VIV then it is normal registration process where all they look at is the VIN and engine number. Then away you go. I wrote off my landcruiser years ago in the bush and the insurance wrote it off so I bought it back, fixed it myself got the VIV, RWC and still have it regestered to this day. It really isn't a big deal at all.
  10. After all this talk of the '09 having launch control that can be used with VDC on I decided to give it a go tonight. I used the smash the pedal trick and can confirm that it does work, I got to 4000 rpm. I didn't let go as the road was wet but I shudder to think of how ballistic it would be taking off at that rpm.
  11. We ended up with 4 GTR's. Most I have personally seen at once. Then I met up with another owner later that afternoon that couldnlt make it. At least we know 7 owners now and can have another meet.
  12. Thanks Clarence another set of awesome pics. The blue looks fantastic.
  13. This is definately happening. All 7 confirmed. The weather is meant to be 27degrees tomorrow. It turns bad on Sunday.
  14. At the moment just one. But that may change during the day. If it does change I will SMS you. Otherwise just one.
  15. 8pm for me.
  16. What are the times?
  17. May have a few others interested too.
  18. I'm in again for tomorrow night. Will bring a different car this time.
  19. Sykaflex. Yep just had a look at the install instructions. I think that the tape would be fine.
  20. Subtle is better. I didnt realise they stick on. I thought they would be bolt on. Thats a bit worrying.
  21. Bump
  22. No it just means that any damage up to 15k you have to pay for yourself.
  23. Don't you wimp out.
  24. Looks like 7 R35's confirmed now.
  25. I was in LA last year and I did find an R35 for hire and they wanted $800 a day. Pretty steep considering the car was only 80k to buy. And you can get fined for speeding in the states as I got done a couple of months ago and have the papers to prove it. I wanted to get them frames as it was amusing at the time.
