  2. structural integrity for a track car should be no problem - roll cage should offer more than the stock damaged components ever did - but I suppose I am speaking through my arse without having seen the car

mildly damaged JDM for race only - about 40-50k. undamaged JDM car for track only 70k or there abouts

Not too mention if the standard spot welds are drilled/new parts used and plug welded it will stronger than it was originally

  3. Hey All,

I know this is a really stupid question.... but what size is the fuel line? I need to get some new line and I don't have the car here with me to measure?!! Sorry to ask such a stupid question, just don't wanna get caught out.

    Cheers in advance

    5/16 or 8mm

  4. oh goodie, then i better scavenge whatever parts i want from it before an assessor comes, first up, the wheels, replaced with stock supra ones, and my cheapo headunit.

i probably wouldnt be taking anything off before the assessor comes...in actual fact id be washing and polishing it and cleaning the inside to make it look like it was worth more $$$ and well looked after....the more you can make the car worth the better if they are going to total loss it....and i would assume putting second rate stuff on would drop the value?I guess its something you would have to weigh up if the stuff is worth hanging on to or giving it up and getting a good payout

  5. Oh FFS.

I never said the car has to go anywhere. All I f**king said was they will want someone, be it one of their in house assessors or approved panel guys to have a f**king look at the car. It's pretty f**king simple and it's correct. They will not pay out a claim without first having a look at the car in some way, shape or form.

And where did I say they are "walk(ing) all over" me? You think I came down in the last shower? If the RACV reckon I'll settle for anything less than what I have already decided on, then they are sorely mistaken.

f**king read what I said before opening your mouth.

Be careful. I'm in a biffo with the RACV at the moment. They have offered me $1,850 for my Datsun, which I decided to reluctantly agree only for them to tell me that they will then take out the cost of rego, prorated, meaning they pay me $1400 and I then go and cash in the rego to bring it up to $1800. So they are including the left over rego as part of the cost of the car. f**kers.

sorry i must have misunderstood this :S

i cbf reading the three pages, so stuff you if its already been said.

Had a person reverse into my car.

They need to call their insurance and lodge a claim for the repair of their and your car.

The person who hit you will then need to call you to give you a claim number.

Now you can call the insurance company with the claim number and demand your own repairer and/or cash payment because it was not your fault. They will try to push you to their repairer etc, but as the accident is not your fault you want it repaired the way you want.

I think I gave the claim number to Micolour + my car and they sorted it all out :)

    the above is correct

  6. Interesting, i haven't even spoken with anyone from her insurance yet, but i've gotten a quote, i dont want the bones of the car, what do i do with the bones of the car anyway?
API is under written by AAMI....they will most likely hit you with a figure and they take the bones away
  7. i will also add if your panel beater is a recommended repairer of RACV.....i was asked to have an RACV sign and declined as they make you sign a contract saying that you wont do third party claims against them....edit sorry was confused with all this RACV and API talk.....your API will be fine
