  1. they have no legal right to take it to there recommended repairer as you stated in your above post....there assesor will come to your panel shop to have a look at it and filter the independant assessors quote....but thats all, he may ask.....but your no obligated to let him move it.....i deal with these people everyday,i know how it works. If they try play hardball tell them your going to a third party recovery agent and watch them give in.......And if your letting them walk all over you with your datsun your not playing the game properly....and i assure you RACV is by far the worst, they will lie to you on many occasions to stall payment and try and offer you well under what the vehicle is worth

  2. i might also add that in RACV's case they have agreements with certain places for tender on the bones....for example they send photos to them and ask them to put a figure on the wreck....then they deduct that from your payment and give you the number of the people that put in the tender and they are on contract to stick to there figure and take it away and pay you direct...

  3. in regards to third party claims the insurance company has no right to the vehicle once they have paid out(unless you agree otherwise)for example RACV will normally do this .......XXX model car worth 10K pre accident.....salvage value on the wreck 2k...they will pay you 8k and leave you the wreck....API is under written by AAMI....they will most likely hit you with a figure and they take the bones away

  4. bullshit on the car going to there repairer........mobile or not....with a third party claim your panel beater will have an independant assesor that they use (and he will be a member of the assesors association) and his assesment will be recognized as fair and resonable

  5. are you a panel beater?

but what if its a write off? the panel beater won't get anything then.

So, i need an insurance claim number from her eh? I'll call her tomorrow for it then.

yep thats how it works....If its a total loss like you say the panel beater wont get anything anyway right??????????

  6. true its a rip, but i havent seen many other products give as good a result (most is application) ive seen alot of budget candies that look hazy.

thats the ground coat problem i was talking about!

  7. it always makes me laugh about the comments on the cost of candy colours and house of kolours......house of kolours has to be the biggest rort ive ever seen...its all marketing shit that far too many people fall for, they dont have anything that hasnt been out for atleast 15 years sold under a diffrent label...we use SEM candy pigments every day here at work which are about $150 a litre(we dilute 10-20 grams to 100grams of clear,so all up it would roughly 6lts)We also have DNA pigments which are a bit more concentrated,so depending on the colour you require you put down a ground coat thats half way to what you want to acheive for example if i want to paint a job mandarine orange i would make a metallic orange ground coat with 2 coats of mandarine pigment over the top. Most people are under the misconception that you use silver under pigments but this leads to leaning to hard on the dye causing "train tracks" and a patchy look....so at a quick run down $150 for dye, clear $500,4lts of base coat $300 and thats your colour taken care of for under a gorillla(which you would have lots left over if you play it smart and use a tinted undercoat)so anyone thats considering painting there car in pigment dont get brain washed by all the bullshit marketing!

  8. i have imported race cars a few times.....in regards to import approvals i wrote a letter stating that i was collecting these cars, have no need for a CAMS license and refuse to participate in a money grabbing scheme by any sort of racing confederation and that i do not require a CAMS license to turn up to a test and tune day, tear arse around private property or sit at home and look at my car.....ive received it every time with no trouble

  9. this is really interesting....it appears a most people here have had bad dealings and think alike in regards to estate agents....there seems to be a pattern here would you aggree?....even another guy thats posted here does the same sort of work and he doesnt seem to be getting his jocks in a twist.....you can call everyone in my trade what ever you like,i dont give a rats arse....you wont get any defence out of me....i suggest you go and eat one of these....
