Mine is a S1 that had a RB20ET factory, thankfully by the time I brought it there was a silvertop RB20DET sitting there, phew! Yer they look ok, prefer the S3 with projectors, mine has the new front end with the old rear, perfect combo, but then I am biased

GTi-R would be best bang for buck then! AWD where the GTS and the 180's aren't and they aren't an everyday seen car either.

I wouldn't trust any GTR brought under about $24k to be reliable and not needing a fair amount of work. Around 15k if you want reliable Jap cars I would go a GTiR Pulsar, an R32 GTS-t or to be different you could pick up a nice import HR31. Just find one with a silvertop 20 or better still a 25 in it.

My brother has arguably the only genuine R31 GTS-R (everyone is yet to show me another real one) in WA. VIN number checked through and all is genuine. Will find out more.

I would prefer the R32 GTR to the R33 GTR but as a lot are old now they are all on engine rebuild times. It is either rebuild it or one that is you are still paying good money for and are still counting on it being done properly.

If you look hard enough you can find HR31 wagon Passage's still in Japan. Was spewing as just missed out on a Passage wagon with a RB25DET, R34 GTR wheels (obviously had 5 stud conversion) and many, many more goodies. When you talk import 31s tho, there is everything as an option and they are all different, be here for hours listing them all.

Cazz is right, most of it is all different. I recently replaced everything in the front of mine and thankfully the guy at Wilkinsons had one previously and knew all the bits. Every other place asked me to measure it all up etc. Nice car btw, seen the dude on 31 forum selling it!

Yep, up to 87 is the S1 Pinny looking front end but trust me, many have had these changed (like mine) so best to ask. Manuals are hard to come by but do exist so look out for a manual would be better and make sure it has an LSD diff (if its important to you) as not all do. I had to change mine from single to LSD but was factory manual. Also bear in mind, wheels are hard to get in the offset with 4 stud. Also look for one with an RB20DET ECCS, many has NICS engines and even RB20ET's etc. Other than that they are a great car, I love mine and as they are different they attract a lot of attention. Everyone told me to get a 32, wanted something different and haven't regretted it for a day.

Just remember that TOO rich slowly glazes shit up and = death eventually. You need to find that comfortable medium. My car is running a Wolf and off boost is an absolute dream on fuel (500km to a tank city driving), on boost it uses more, blows a bit of black smoke but nothing exessive and pulls hard, back off boost, comes back to good fuel economy. Its making 274.8rwhp too out of a fairly stock RB20DET (exhaust, Wolf, RB25 turbo and fmic) and the car is happy as.

We got told off for having 8 1/2 inch rims on a Commodore (back in Trev days) but then if it was a "HSV" or "SS" it would have been ok but it wasn't. Doesn't matter that they are exactly the same under there. Then had tail lights checked on a 31 "they were too dull" but then next inspection I said "checked by an auto sparky and said they were normal" and the inspector says "oh they are fine". Grrr.... Can see why people get annoyed.
