  1. cheers guys, thanks for the additional info. you reckon its best to get an engineering cert for my mods prior to going in, or after the first inspection to engineer the mods that they dont like ? cheers
  2. ill take the r33 stock BOV PM sent cheers, JD
  3. hey all, am after a stock r33 blow off valve .. let me now if anyone has one (prefereably PM) cheers JD
  4. hey, do you have the stock BOV ? cheers
  5. if anyone can lend me a stock r33 BOV, that would be great cheers
  6. yes, yes it does
  7. cheers Tarmac, the info is much appreciated ! roughly how much will an engineering certificate cost from Canberra Motor works ? i.e. if I wanted the intercooler engineered ? cheers, JD
  8. cheers r33gtst,, hmm doesnt sound good .. might be easier to just bolt back on the stock i/c instead of getting the front mount engineered. Hovever, If I was to get the I/C engineered, who in Canberra could do that ?? boost guage on dash will just be removed, that'll be easy. instead of getting my car raised with springs, i think ill just replace my exhaust, as its the point on the car which is illegally low,, will take care of noise issues which they may pick up on too. cheers for the info.. JD
  9. wohoo got defected tonight, damn summernats cops ,, grrr anyways Ive been done for being too low, i.e. the lowest part on my car (my exhaust) not being at least 4inches, but they have ticked the suspension/steering check box as the defect.. so looks like Im going to have to get springs to pass pits. . however, does anyone know if stock 33 springs will fit into TEIN coilovers ?? or what will ? the bastards ticked the full inspection check box too, so can anyone comment what else (out of the following mods) they will pick on?? HKS Air Pod (fully secured, but not in an enclosed box) Front Mount IC Boost guage on dash Turbo Timer tinted windows (think they will defn get me here) full 3inch apexi exhaust (gonna buy a silencer to quieten before i go in) manual boost controller Apexi Blow Off Valve Strut Brace TEIN Coilovers cheers, JD
  10. anyone meeting at the museum tonight? might be keen to head out if anyone is gonna start at the museum

  13. thats why you get the new dry 3 layer ones.. they are not oil based and last longer, i.e. you can wash them without removing something that should be there.. cheers. i got mine from nengun
  14. just replaced my HKS air filter (on the pod) after 35k .. on the back of the packaging it says 6k-10k replace,, if i did that i would buy a filter every month and a half I reckon after 25k if overly worried.. 6k seems too soon. my 2c -JD

  23. I think you need to research the difference between polish and wax. By saying a line like this it seems you are not too sure: "its time to polish - I use Meguiares Tech wax". The in the next few steps you say you polish your car, hence why it seems like you WAX then POLISH. But now that I understand that you use the terms interchangeably, I understand that all you do is really wax your car (which myself and obviously Rbee disagree with, but hey they are just our thoughts). I have experienced this problem first hand with my last car. I'm not forcing people to use a product which is designed for car windows over a product which is made for around your house, but it kinda makes sense. All in all, I provide this info for people to consider or not consider, its up to them.
  24. who's gonna be there this FNATM ?
  25. good write up, though gonna have to object on 2 points 1) polish your car before waxing it, not the otherway round 2) DO NOT use windex on your windows (Especially on the inside) and ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE AFTERMARKET TINT, it will corrode it and make round disolvable spots. What to use instead? Meguiars Nxt Gen window cleaner is safe as.. and remember light (very very light) pressure on the inside, to even more reduce the chance of smearing tints. Also, I recommend cleaning the windows before polishing and waxing .. Why ? this is because when you spray the window cleaner on the outside of the car (on the windows) some spray can hit your freshly polished paint; (im just pedantic I suppose ) Other than that, good work nice write.. see ya's all there.. ps who is gonna do the friday night museum thing? cheers JD
