  1. Car: BeaconRed over Silver Series 3 Silhouette Year: 1990 Purchased:: Almost 10 months ago Km: 224,000km Cost: $5,000 Best thing about the car: It's everything I need, it's a little bit different, and it's a wonderful car all around. Has given me almost zerio grief since I bought it. K&N Panel filter Genie 2.25' Extractors Genie 2.25 Cat back exhaust with 2 Lukey mufflers Lovells Lowered Sports springs (1.5' lower) Nissan SVD 27mm front swaybar Monroe GT Gas shocks W.I.P. Pantera 16x7.5 Alloys Pioneer & Kenwood stereo I've got fairly but plans for this car, in the next couple of months I'm going to be getting an RB25 head for the 3 litre block, and doing a twin cam conversion. Turbo will come later after the rest of the car has had some more work done to it. Plan on fitting some Bilstein shocks to replace the homo Monroes, fitting a Whiteline rear swaybar and getting some adjustible panhard rods. Haven't decided on going 5 stud or not, same for what brakes I plan on using. Kinda going with the flow at the moment
  2. Spotted in Woden outside Oporto: One dead sexy beast:wassup:
  3. Spotted 2 GT-R's today A black R33 on Adelade Avenue Civic bound, and a white R32 on the Monaro Highway south bound, gave it a bootful as well (I was in the red R31 behind you )
  4. If this is the same event we're talking about over on the R31 forums, then I'm sure as hell going just so I can see this sucker all the way from R31House Japan! http://http://www.r31house.co.jp/r31/img/aa8630.jpg' target='_blank'>
  5. I believe that's the car with the caption 'SKYLINES AUSTRALIA' on it's rego plates. And I also saw that car in front of my work (Stirling College) today about 2 hours ago
  6. I wash my car at Weston Carlovers all the time, never had any trouble with idiots there, except once when someone was pulling out (VN Commodore, big surprise), stopped at the exit & started to smoke his tyres big time. This was around 1pm on a Saturday, the place was packed with peopled washing their cars. He prolly sat there for 30 or 40 seconds smoking it up, and then crawled off. I'll keep an eye out for that escape though, seems like a geuine gimp to me
  7. Ok....you win That's awful to hear...I really don't know how I'd handle a situation like that
  8. I've just been down at Hume tonight watching the *ahem* street races * cough* ,there was a silver R32 GT-R there and about 3 or 4 R32s & R33s, none of which were doing anything silly, just sitting there watching. anyone from here?
  9. I see that one all the time, the owner works at Chapman shops I think. Rego plates on it were 'NISSAN'? It's a lovely car I reckon...looks to be completely stock apart from the wheels
  10. Thanks for the replies guys I picked up the car on Friday morning, the Lovells have improved the handling to no end...it's like driving a different car...I just have to point & shoot now. I can't wait tog et the rest of the suspension done. Here's a pic of the car as it is now (sorry, bad photo I know) http://aa.1asphost.com/Bluprint/Silhouette...cture%20378.jpg I'm pretty happy with them now, though I am a bit concerned about the rear ride height, it's maybe a centimetre too low for my liking (God I'm pedantic ) But other than that I'd say they are well worth it
  11. RB20 would be easier to put in, mounting points are all the same, except for the gearbox Both are about as capable as each other, maybe the RB20 could be taken a little further
  12. Hey peoples, I've just ordered a set of Lovells springs for my Sihouette, I'm told they're pretty good, what do you guys think of them?
  13. Try looking in the galleries on http://www.r31skylineclub.com/ Alternatively, try here as well: http://darkhalf.r31skylineclub.com/
  14. went past a black R32 GTS-t in the JB HiFi carpark in Woden this afternoon, no front bar, big fat intercooler
  15. There's a Series 3 Silhouette mockup running around Canberra as well, it's a dead ringer for the real thing (I mean if there ever was a real thing, that's what it'd look like) It's red over silver
  16. rofl If you say so Mark, go the 31s :headbang: Even if everyone else hates them
  17. rofl if you say so Mark, Go the 31s :headbang:
  18. Saw that leaving Fyswick turning towards Queanbeyan this afternoon, looked like he gave it a BIG hit as he turned onto the highway Oh and it's a GTS-t
  19. Saw MickGTR in woden giving it a little hit in front of Hoyts around 3:30
  20. Does it bog down under 3000rpm or does it just feel weak? Maybe your timing isn't set properly
  21. It varies by the model of course A GTS1 does 0-100 in about 9.2 seconds, and a GTS2 does it in 8.8 seconds, though I reckon both have to be quicker than that, because a run of the mill manual sedan can pull about 9.4 or 9.5 seconds For power, australian R31 RB30E engine makes 114kw, GTS1 makes 130kw, GTS2 makes 140kw. Imports have a couple of different engines, RB20 and RB30 RB20s come in single cam and twin cam, non turbo and turbo, and different variants of each. Power ranges from around 100kw to around 150kw depending on the model & spec
  22. 9,500 eh John This I've got to see....but I'm not going to am I?
  23. That's nothing that an RB25 head won't fix
  24. If you're taking the backroad that goes between Lyons & Weston, it's probably not a wise action to come flying up the hill (coming towards Weston)....more often than not, just as I come over the crest of the hill there's a camera van sitting right under the parkway overpass.
