not much he can do about it now he reckons its likely that either one of the injector's dud or ECU or coilpack is stuffed seeing it was runnings 100% before the injectors i guess one of the injectors needs to be replaced will be checking the spark plugs later
-
Nuh I don't have a wideband It is driveable, just lack of power and sounds like wrx, I already took it around the block a couple of times today when testing it. Lucky toshi doesn't live too far away so I can get the car to him once I replace #1 injector if it is a dud At least if it's really #1 then I won't have to pull the rail out again, it's easy to access that injector I'm just puzzled at how it could be possible that an injector is delivering fuel but not respond to adjustments made while others do, in both fuel % and latency
-
Ok here's the latest update Tried the screw driver trick, could hear all injectors going Pulled the plugs on #1, 2 and 6, all seems to affect the engine. Couldn't get to the plugs on 3, 4 and 5 So went back in the car and tried to adjust the latency on individual injectors, individual changes made to 2- 6 affects idle except for #1 cylinder. I could put the latency correction to -1 and it won't make any difference, yet if I pull the plug then it will. So it seems like #1 injectors delivering fuel but not responding to latency changes Can this happen? I thought injectors either die or alive? PFC is brand new when a bought it a couple of mths ago, so I doubt it's the ECU

Thanks guys Yeah I had both nismos and Sards in two of my old cars and felt the Sards did the job just as well. Sure it wasn't exactly as easy as the nismos but I didn't have to worry about breaking the pintle caps when putting them in At least the Sards are probably easier to pull out now because it uses Allen key bolts, just maybe not the #5 and 6 Yeah I'm in sydney but I've always gone to Toshi to get my cars tuned, since he just lives around the corner for me Will try the screwdriver trick thanks Badgaz!

Ok just gave all the suggestions a go, no luck Didn't hydro lock the engine when I started it so that probably rules leaking O rings out The car doesn't want to stall anymore, would go back to idle fine at traffic lights, unlike yesterday when I was playing with the latency. Idle holds steady and is actually driveable. Just down on power and feels like it's running on 5 cylinders. I haven't had time to check if it's actually a bad injector just yet, could only confirm that it's not #1 caus it's the easiest one to get to Btw these 540s should be the same injector series as those 650s, same shape, both twin sprays just different colour. If it works fine on ur car it should be fine on mine, providing that there's no damaged injectors and it's set up properly
-
Ok will try a few things tonight before I pull the injectors out again Btw with the 850ccs, did you have to get new O rings for them or were the supplied O rings fine?
-
its already pig rich as is lol besides 540cc isnt THAT big
-
ok well car doesn't run, doesnt rev clean in neutral and wants to stall if i attempt to drive it guess i'll have to pull it out again to see if it is leaking from the bottom O ring
-
Unfortunately I don't have either of those or know anyone who has one of those that I can borrow.. would take up your offer but just curious that whether incorrect latency settings will also affect it when the engine is revved in neutral? It is rough, wrx-ish and pops when i rev it in neutral If latency setting only affect idle, then the engine being rough and popping when i rev it a bit in neutral could be because one of the bottom O-rings not sealing properly? seeing that a few 300zx and s15s have used the same SARD injectors on some japanese blogs, I didn't think these injectors would be a problem on r33s at all
-
Nuh that'll kill the bosch fuel pump in no time plus they don't exist around my area lolYeah yeah I know my whole fuel system is a dinosaur lol
-
Great thanks for the advice, guess I will try enrichen it first so I can get it to the tuner and get the damn thing tuned
-
Yeah had them 550ccs before on my old car and they pretty much fired up straight away without any issue, so I thought the 540s Sards would also be ok. I thought sard discontinued them 550s now? That's what it says on their site Will try the settings on the ecu first I guess
-
Got them from a forum member at an ok price, was being cheap, didn't want to pay 1/10 of the cars worth for a set of new nismos Though I was thinking if I enrichen the idle area it still doesn't really fix the other zones. Doesn't rev clean with the way it is now. Ie stupid rich with pops when I rev it a little in neutral
-
Unfortunately that seems to be the case, so much dead time that even an ecu as dinosaur as PFC couldn't handle
-
does 0.07ms make that much of a difference? in saying that i have also tried different lag times and they do seem to affect the idle (gets worse as I decrease the value). or am i looking at the wrong thing altogether, could it be a binding bottom O ring that is leaking fuel into the cylinder causing this? although I've left the car in idle for more than 10min so if it was a leaking O ring the engine would have hydrolocked by now? the injectors are brand new and so are the O rings that came with it, used sillicon spray on the O rings during installation there's no visible leak from the top
-
read it many times, pretty sure I've got the calculation right followed it and cross checked it with the PFC instruction manual, didn't answer my question. Can anyone confirm that I'll be able to add more than 1ms injector lag time using datalogit? I know you can do lag vs battery voltage just not sure about degree of adjustment
-
Recently installed sard 540cc injectors in my R33 gtst and I can't make it idle properly It's pretty hard to crank the car over, idles real rough and rich, if I rev it a little it would pop and sounds a bit like a wrx The Sard 540cc has latency of 1.6ms (!!), I thought thats a bit high but its the value I got from SARD website. The ECU I have is PFC, the value I've entered is 370/540x100%= 68.5% lag time was 1.6- 0.528= 1.072 - but power FC only allows maximum of 1ms lag time so I could only enter 1.00ms. Is this the reason why it's not idling properly? being 0.07ms out Also tried other latency settings, the car would not start with latency value, like 66 or even 30 is 0.07ms out bad enough to cause this? Do i need a different ECU? or are there ways to get around this? any help is much appreciated btw here's a link to SARD's website, the white 540s are the ones I've got http://www.sard.co.jp/after_eng/products/engine/injector/injector_syasyu.html

Have a standard r33 turbo for sale, off a series 2, includes standard actuator but not oil return. Does have a snapped exhaust bolt in the rear housing, so you will need to get that out first before installation In good condition, does not leak oil/coolant, minimal shaft play, only took it out due to upgrade Asking $150, located in north sydney

Bosch 044 With Intank Filter
chiksluvit replied to battery's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi mate please let me know if you've received the transfer -
As the topic states I have a R33 GTSt apexi power FC for sale with hand controller, $450 the PFC works fine, however I could not get the boost controller function to work. Everything else works fine, responds to all changes from AFM, injector, timing input, idle settings, saves settings when car shuts off, hand controller displays correctly, all other functions tested and works fine etc This may be repairable, not sure how much it'll cost. So if you're after a cheap aftermarket plug-in ECU and have a separate boost controller then this could do the job Located in Chatswood, will post, PM me if interested
