Squeal Noise At High Boost, Help!
chiksluvit replied to RuskyGT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i can only hear induction noise, but i'm using a laptop and sound quality's a bit do you have FMIC with t clamps? if its making a loud whistle then it could just be boost leak- undo the clamps and reposition it properly. You can do this anyway for peace of mind -

Bump anyone needs an rb25 stock turbo? Still for sale -
congrats and welcome! get a basic service done and inspect brakes, suspension bushes/ links first. Replace anything that's old/worn first before looking at anything that'll increase the power output got a photo?

Driving Large Injectors With Wolf V4 Ecu
chiksluvit replied to Gareth87's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've read that the 044s are not e85 compatible, and bosch reckons you can only get something like 500 hrs out of it in saying that there are lots of people that run e85 with the 044, so was that just a myth or? -
bilsteins and tein medium springs, it lowered the front quite substaintially on current and previous r33 for some reason, even though it wasnt meant to do that Had to raise it by 20mm from the standard bilstein groove to get to the acceptable level have GTR rear sway bar and standard front sway bar, ok for street had whiteline 27mm front sway bar and 24 adjustable rears, found them to be a bit too stiff for street use, would be pretty good on track though i thought and get the bushes replaced, upper control arm and caster arm bushes are usually ripped by now, don't forget the tie rods too handles well for a street car, good for street and just casual track days

R33 Gearbox Rollover Rattle Noise
chiksluvit replied to Getto88's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
bit of an old thread Had the same problem, fixed it with a new spigot bearing -
what exhaust manifold is it? i had an aftermarket exhaust manifold that came in one of my old cars and it cracked at the weld, caused a noticeable power loss- went back to stock exhaust manifold which also helped with boost response stainless exhaust manifolds crack easily and what dump pipe have you got? some short hks style split dumps may also catch the wastegate flap. though i've had two of those split dumps before and never experienced that problem

The Garrett cores aren't cheap Price hasn't changed much since, I paid a bit less back then but had to do the lines and drains separately which would've add up to about the same. If he's supplying the OP6 housing then that's cheap Heard lots of good things about hypergear and I also just installed one myself, don't know how it goes just yet caus I have injector issues to sort first Not sure if Stao is still offering BB highflows but otherwise you'll need to compare hypergear with precisions bush bearing highflow to be fair, they cost roughly the same
-
Scotty- am planning to go down that route if the spare injector I ordered still doesn't fix it Sarge- yeah thought about that, just trying to avoid having to pull the rail out again in my apartment carpark and make the area smell like petrol plus some of those "senior" residents are quite power trippy here, they can get quite annoying
-
lots of love for tyrepower here lol I go to tyrepower in kogarah, Terry the aligner knows his stuff and Barry the owner always looked after me
-
the BB costs a fair bit more than the plain bearing one I think, he also did recommend plain bearing saying it will make just as much power, but also admitted that the BB one would have better response just the amount of work of getting the lines right during installation took a bit of time, but was worth it in the end If I was to do it again then I'd go OP6 rear housing on the BB highflow, r33 21U highflow had stock-like response already, I think I could do with slightly less response for more top end and boost it up to 17psi
-
I did that turbo back in 2008, and yes that ball bearing highflow was real good, stock like response and midrange, I think I managed 230rwkw with a Toshi road tune but I was only running 14psi if I remember right he does plain bearing highflows too but I went with the ball bearing option at the time If the ball bearing highflow is still the same as it was before, then make sure you give him your turbo return drain so he can modify that to suit the Garrett ball bearing CHRA standard coolant lines also didn't fit, you could cut the stock lines and fit new rubber hoses and banjos but better to get new lines made up was quite a bit of work but it was worth it in the end. His after sale service is also good too Having had skylines that had both precision highflow and GCG highflow I personally prefer the precision, the GCG felt laggier, takes a moment to pick up when you put your foot down The precision r33 BB highflow was so responsive you could probably opt for OP6 highflow for a bit more top end never tried the plain bearing highflow from precision so I can't really comment on that, I think I remember John telling me the plain bearing highflow will bolt up to standard coolent lines and oil return drain, but double check that with him Erwin from Skylinespares also at Wethrill park might know about the plain bearing version, he was the one who recommended Precision to me let us know how you go
-
Lol I'd love to but I don't think I'd be able to handle the amount of custom work required to convert them to top feeds In saying that I'd be interested to see how you go with those Siemens
-
Thanks Scotty but unfortunately I'm in Sydney that said once I get this sorted and get some cash flow back again I will need one of your famous intake pipes before I visit Toshi did too many things in one go and haven't been able to drive the car for almost 3 weeks is a pain
-
The only free time I've got to do this is after hours or weekend, which makes it hard for me to get them flow tested 5 out of 6 injectors have never met a fuel rail before before so no real point in cleaning it. Although one was installed/ used for "photo shooting purposes" by the guy who sold it to me, I've put that one on cyl 1 for in case
-
ordered a new injector, will replace cyl 1 injector n see how i go next week
-
Update: as Toshi has suggested I've taken the spark plugs out and had a look at it they were all running rich judging by the spark plugs, this is from cyl 1, the rest all pretty much looked the same AFAIK they all still produce spark- engine drop revs when each of the injectors were unplugged, including #1 Only thing suss- cyl # 1 injector doesn't respond to changes on the PFC Changes on every other injector affects idle so could be the PFC, could be the injector. The PFC is only 6 mths old and injectors were also new
