Hi Guys.. I have a R33 gtst custom catback for sale... 3', asking $300, pickup only from Chatswood it's straight through, with one larger resonator and rear cannon, makes your R33 sound nice and smooth, not overly loud and definitely not drowny when cruising. exhaust tip is not angled. reason for sale- got a nismo exhaust off an R34 and just used that instead... autometer boost gauge- 52mm pro-comp silver face. comes with the bulb/ bulb holder and wires, cup and bracket for on dash/ A pillar mounting. asking $50 + postage. will add photos later...

Hid Choices On China Or Germany
chiksluvit replied to SLinky-A's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
hrm HID is nice and pretty but if it's not going to last longer than halogen then i guess i'd just pass it... say if the ballast blows because of the hi/lo beam switch reason then the replacement cost is pretty high... plus i'd have to adjust my headlights lower so it won't glare oncoming traffic... but that reduces visibility -

i see.. thanks, that answers my question.. i guess thats why on the r34 with HID as standard, they're designed to keep the low beam on when the high beam's turned on... i think i'll just keep it as is then... no HID for me -

Hid Choices On China Or Germany
chiksluvit replied to SLinky-A's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
uh ok let me try to rephrase my question the R32 projector/R33 skylines don't use the mechanical actuation.. its H1, plus there are seperate hi/lo beam bulbs what i'm meant to ask is if you turn HID lights on and off repeatedly then does it shorten the life of the HID ballast/bulb? and the reason why i asked this question is when you pull the high beam, low beam goes off in r32/r33. since the high beam and low beams have seperate bulbs, this means the low beam is getting turned on and off repeatedly -
Hid Choices On China Or Germany
chiksluvit replied to SLinky-A's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
isn't that for H4 type? like when hi beam and low beam are in the same cluster... such as n15 pulsar or r32 N1 lights... like R32 projectors and R33s have seperate light cluster for hi and low beam... when you flash high beam it turns off low beam, then turns low beam back on and turns hi beam off. so basically it turns the low beam HIDs on and off frequently when you flash a few times and i was told that frequently turning on/off is not good for the ballast... -

one concern with HIDs that i have is that I was told HIDs shouldn't be turned on/off repeatedly so say when you're driving an r32/r33 at night with lights on and you flash someone, when you flash the high beam gets turned on and low beam off, then high beam off low beam on... doesn't this affect the life of the HID kit? -
How Do I Tell What My Spring Rates Are?
chiksluvit replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
these are off a set of Koni coilovers... F Coil ID = 64mm Wire OD = 10 mm # of Coils = 6.5 turns R Coil ID = 64mm Wire OD = 10 mm # of Coils = 7.1 turns Thanks SK! -
IS is good i've heard, even my mechanic reckons indy is a top bloke I goto Maytech though, all the skylines i had and this car now are all taken care by Mayan, his workmanship is top notch, and i can safely say the cars he worked on, are all put back just as good as how it was from factory, no missing bolts, no missing covers here and there... check out that red R32 GTR in the workshop which he rebuilt from ground up... sexiest thing i reckon..

no wing ur car looks the best as is atm i think imo the r34 suits wingless the most out of r32 r33 r34 if you really want a wing then just put on the r34 gtr wing...

what he said! get exhaust for it too, try the ones with big muffler rather than cannons, or it'll get too loud and drowny on na. or just get r33 gtst exhausts for a cheap upgrade abs is good but you'll need a lot of effort finding and installing it, maybe costly too you'll at least need sensors on all 4 wheels, electric wiring and relay, abs assy, lines, and new brake master cyl... probably not worth it in the end just upgrade to gtst brakes and some nice progressive pads, and good tyres

speaking of spot welds on the pedal brackets.. this reminded me that few days ago when my friend's r33 got broken into when parked on the streets in redfern/waterloo area nothing was stolen, all they did was they pulled the brackets out of the accelerator pedal and punctured one rear tyre.. when i saw it i was surprised how it didnt seem too hard to pull the bracket out... done with just a bit of leverage, force wasnt even enough to bend the bracket with clutch pedal being heavier than accelerator, especially if you have heavy duty clutch, i guess it'll become a weak point..

Best & Reliable Mechanics For Engine Rebuild In Nsw
chiksluvit replied to 10MinuteCar's topic in New South Wales
I recommend Maytech (in my signature) I dont work for them or anything, just a regular customer there.. Mayan, the owner of the workshop, has great knowledge on knows RBs, SRs and a lot other engines like 4age and mitsubishis and audis.. he worked on my last 3 skylines and i never had any problems with his workmanship. his latest project was a rebuild of a red r32 gtr, he did all the mechanical and electrical work... i think the car's still at the workshop waiting for new coilovers to arrive from japan. but the engine is complete, speak to him about it, and maybe even talk to the owner of the car if you get a chance, you'll be impressed. best thing is, he doesn't charge an arm and a leg. give him a call on 0296006995, if he doesnt answer then he's probably busy so just leave a message, he'll get back to you, tell him Thomas sent you -
there are a lot of great oil on the market.. motul, elf, castrol.. edge is definitely awesome, 10w60 is a little thick for street like roy said though plus its winter now

How much any easy is it to get spare parts?? spare parts supply is plentyful and cheap - no need to worry there How reliable they are?? mechanically pretty reliable, but considering they're old some parts may be tired and may need to be changed anyway.. just like any older cars out there in comparison with cars of the same age, r32 is actually not too bad though How are they on fuel?? about the same as r33... so not that great on fuel again depends on how heavy your right foot is What is the insurances on a 1990 Skyline?? call justcar for a quote.. it varys from person to person And just basic stuff on them, that I need to know to fill me in please. pull the trim and check the rear quarters for rust when you're inspecting it

most likely your clutch master cyl is gone change the slave cyl as well if you're doing the master cylinder check your clutch fluid level, if it's too low then top it up, pump the pedal up and drive it carefully to the mechanics to get it fixed the genuine master and slave cylinders aren't that expensive from nissan, so just save yourself the hassle and get new ones instead of messing around trying to rebuild/reseal the master cyl.. if the master cyl bore is scored then u've wasted your time rebuilding it

High Pitched Turbo Spool After Front/dump Install

any updates? -
why not try nissan for a brand new one? they're about 150 dollars to 200 brand new... dont remember exactly how much but at least u know it's not going to break on you again anytime soon.. or you can try to rebuild the old one, costs far less, but will still leak if it's already scored inside...

i can't believe this thread's gone this far.. havent looked at it for a few days and it's almost doubled its pages everytime there's a topic over 20 vs 25 or sr vs rb the talk just goes on... my friend once said, skyline owners are very interesting, everyone seems to hate/dislike each other, r34 hates r33 hates r32, rb26 hates 25/20, rb25 and rb20 hates each other, and gtr hates everything.... and they all hate the rest of other cars on the streets. he drives a gtr so i guess that just showed his attitude towards every other lines on the street, bit of a snob comment if u ask me, but pretty true to a certain extent, everyone's too proud of their skyline... it's an awesome car thats why rekin's got a pretty good analysis there, based on that and plus the topic starter test drive the cars and i dont think it'll be hard to work out what he prefers cheers
