no its steves car. the guy in the first clip not that you can tell. my car is back in bits.
  4. after a few hours running a highmount turbo on the drift car we found it had generated massive engine bay temps even thoe we were running a vented bonnet. this is the bonnet i know that the R34-R35 GTR run the naca duct to force air down onto the turbos for cooling but would it be more efficent to vent the heat from a high mount turbo up and out of the bonnet? if anyone has any pictures of a good solution id be very gratefull. i personaly have never seen anything like what im thinking of. on another note i was taking to an EVO guroo one day and he recconed that having the turbo behind the radiator was ideal on an evo because the turbo got consistant airflow over it helping to keep temps in check. does anyone run any sort of turbo air cooling?

  7. Thanks for the positive comments guys. best thing about pictures is they hide all the dodgy bits. its far from immaculate. just incase people haddent pick up on it the black car isnt my car it just has some of my bits on it. this seemed to confuse the hell out of people at the Tas drift festival on the weekend. it kinda looked like my car and the owner of it and i used to be team mates so they didnt know whos it was. ive been getting complements for building it and Steve has been getting offeres to buy it. proves to me that all you need is some tuff wheels (weather they fit right or not) and a tuff exhaust note. (helped by a screamer pipe) and people love it. we had people looking over the car all weekend. to us its a pig compared to what we usualy work on so its a surprise to see the reactions. we were like "havent you ever seen a real car before" but i think there is a certan look that a drift pig generates. the ill fitting body work. rattle can painted pannels. tuff unfitting wheels. tuff and rugged sounding engine and then seeing some one drive it on the limmit for 40-50 secconds without holding back for fear of braking somthing.
  8. thats good news because it will make showroom worth watching. and bring in some of the modern cars that have no hope at winning out right. good change i say.

well to be fair club days or super sprints are kind of a time attack as when you go to the drivers breifing they always say you are racing the clock not the other competitors and with the results at the end of the day its all times based even if they dont award places for the best times. it was a good day. good event and the time attack was entertaining.
  10. the latest car to roll out of my shed. not mine thoe. SP001Z inspired haha.
  11. yea the bilsteins are grate. i ended up putting the springs i got out of bens GTR in the front. the ride is super. on the 4 door hectic daily i have added a very JDM centre console lid. so now when im fealing super American and i get my 3 super sized cheese burgers i can fit all the ddrinks in. on a plus nite the top sits at the same level as the arm rest on the door so it feals like im in a sporty arm chair. 2 thumbs up for this mod. haha after weeks of tinkering the Pig 32 is ready to roll. as usual while doing some matenance, replacing turbo to manifold gasket, we found some split and burnt water and oil feeds. so an expensive trip to enzed and some time later and everything is nice and in braid. and a mate welded up the drain pipe designed to get all the fittings of the drain pipe away from anything super hot. and we made a tuff spec front bar out of one of our spares. first some pro repairs. lip added big mouth cut finished product
  12. they look spot on for massive dish under stock guards. good luck with the sale.
  13. drivers side door trim if not keeping it and both rear c pillar trims?
  14. hey mate. i have about a million in my shed. only some types of coilovers come with strut tops. what part is buggered?
  15. wheels sold a long time ago sorry.
  16. hey mate. i like seeing people that are happy with a stockish gtst. that fealing seems to soon go. haha. some ideas for you. suspension: just get factory nissan bushes put in it where nessasary. brand new factory bushes will be better than the nolathan items. Nismo braces are good. try and get the nismo front brace with the master cylender stopper. i havent seen one for sale for years and my last car i made a copy type one. Fuel pump: more important than the fuel pump is doing the fuel pump wiring mod. run a new battery feed to the pump via a relay and put the pump earth straight to ground in the boot. the earth off the pump goes right throught the loom to the risistor near the turbo. the extra voltage will help the stock pump keep up. Injectors: with a HKS 2530 you will get close to 200rwkw on the stock injectors and then bang for buck you cant go past GTR injectors especialy for the 240rwkw mark that the 2530 will max at. computer wise for a street car you realy can go past a GTR power FC, GTR injectors, Z32 AFM with a 2530. this setup has been done to death plenty of good results. intercooler: id be looking for a greddy turn flow. if your keeping the engine stockish its by far the best cooler option. we run one on out 280rwkw gtst with no dramas. and you keep the stock cooler piping in the engine bay. Clutch: i wouldnt bother wasting my money on a jap clutch as they will be way over the top for A) RB20 gearbox. and B ) way to heavy for street driving. just get an excedy cushion button. i ran one in my drift car for nearly a year with no dramas. BOV: they used to be cool but now arent. i blame turbo smart for gay sounding ones. at least the HKS and Greddy ones made cool noises. putting one can cause stalling issues but its hit and miss. there realy isnt any need for one is what i comes down to. and if you are concerened about the stock item holding boost with a 2530 than the best option is to get a GTR BOV. then if you just want a nice street car with a punchier engine id be on the hunt for an rb25de out of an r32 gts. they are hi comp. run it with lowish boost and it will be sweet. i ran one for a year and a half in my drift car no dramas at all. the engine made 220rwkw on 13psi in comparison to an rb20det with a 2530 on 19psi. just some food for thought.
  17. off the net but they seem hard to get what you want >(
  18. pic of dump pipe
  19. dragging this up but anyway. a race car i have worked on for the past few years started life with a r33 GCG hiflow. laggy as hell. made about 240rwkw on an rb20. it failed and joined the list of failed ones i know of. GCG said it would cost just as much as it originaly did to get it rebuilt in the mean time put a stock rb20 turbo back on and changed the car 100% the bloke was wrapped with having response again. so we got a rb20 turbo hiflowed by precision turbos. it was also cheaper. put it on and its grate. highly recomended. spools fast and makes 220rwrw. comparison on dyno graph shows it drops off at the top but better every where elce. also getting a turbo hiflowed by billet turbos in the next few weeks for another car. they wheel specks are the same as the HKS 2530 going in to a rb20 turbo. as far as stock turbo bolt ons on my own car i have run a neo rb25 turbo and it was grate. they are noticable better than the r33 turbos. i run a r33 turbo on my street car and after doing a swap between a stock rb20 turbo and the r33 turbo i found it has a few hundread rpm more lag and far better top end.
  20. thats the best statement right there.
  21. so its been 3 weeks since my last update. ive had a stack of things on but its all for the better. the head for the fun car is ready to be picked up and can be added to a pile of new bits to fit to the drift car once work comences. my new 4 door 32 was always just ment to be daily but i cant help a bit of mild modding. but mainly just to tidy it up and make it a pleasure to drive. i brought a centre muffler off a HKS super dragger exhaust as the system on the 4door only had one muffler and at crusing speeds tends to drone. suprisingly its made a huge difference to the sound level of the car but doent sacrefice the crisp RB note higher in the rev range. i brought a used jap branded muffler because i have used mufflers of old systems in the past on friends cars after they had had AUS spec mufflers fitted and found no difference in sound. you just can beat them for quality. i needed to fix the boot light so apon inspection i found that the old light asembly was broken and to remove it required removing the parcel shelf that had been custom made by a previous owner. it was covered in some crap fabric. it had some nice MTX audo splits with the cross overs mounted on it. i decided this was a bit to "showy" for me so i re-trimed the parcel shelf in black vynal to try and match the dash and other trims and just mounted the speaker back on it. the cross overs will be mounted somewhere elce. to get the parcel shelf out i had to remove the rear seats which due to our spare parts stock i had fitted GTR rear seats. they are somthing id always wanted in a 4door and people always comment about the bucket style of them. one thing i learnt in doing the swap was thet the rear seat belt buckles needed to be longer so a quick trip to out GTR wrecking mate and i had that sorted. you can see the difference in the length. while i was shopping for the muffler i got offered an ARC side mount for my 4door. im not planning to mod this car far and the stock side mount would probably do the trick but this was cheap and it has an ARC badge so why not. in between other jobs ive been slowly prepping up the front rims for pain. i sand blasted the inner parts of the wheels then after finding the to be pretty averearge, scratches ect, i decided to pain the inners matte black. the centers were then given a few coats on the nut holes and hard to paint bits so the finished coat on the face will be over spray free. i find rims to be a bit of a pain in the ass in this respect. then i sat one together to get me motivated to finish them. i realy liked the contrast between the Gloss and Matte black so we did this for lols. a look that i think will be aplied to the drift car. Arrrg when do the ideas stop. after my hectic shock and spring modding i was left with un-known spring off tanabe shocks out of a GTR sitting on climb gear shocks in the front and stock shocks with modded pedders springs in the rear. the ride was firm but nice in the front but horible in the rear so lashed out and brought these. 6 month old billies and whiteling springs. the rears are grate but the fronts are to soft for my liking so ill be playing around with springs to find the right setup in the near future. And to wrap up the Pig got tuned after finding more dodgy stuff. a fuel pump issues arose on the dyno so i checked it out and did a quick power modd to it. in the process i found why the fuel pump was loosing power/ fuel pressure. an imoboliser sytem had been fitted and they had tapped into the fuel pump causing a massive resistance in the circuit. this car had had a few fuel pumps instaled in it over the last few years as no on had diognosed what the actual problem was. its now repping 266rwkw on 19psi and the power comes on like a light switch. it come back friday to have some more bits finished off which included a bolt in harness bar to add to the bolt in jap bendy cage. a few more small details and it will be good to go.
  22. if anyone is able to help with a suplier im mainly looking for just rear guards, rear bar and side skirts for my current project. thanks damo

    Cheap Rb

well it is cheap for a GTS4 motor but not cheap for an rb20. the GTS4 has a different block and makes them harder to find.
