A Boy's Love For His Rb20
DJRIFT replied to Roy's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
i like it. Club Racer spec. id like to build a car to that sort of spec one day. build a car that is still street legal, or there abouts and race it/drive it as often as i can and be happy with the comprimise. thats the biggest hurdle for someone like me, being happy to compramise between not the best street ride and not the best track setup. a car with a pourpose. on the interior side. ive seen people use carpet like sub box carpet to lay over the bare rear section of the car to make the car feel a bit more user freindly. HPI had a GTR from dubi that had a carpeted rear and it looked very tastefull. -
yep very keen. pm me your number and we will tee up a meet.

to the trained eye the gtt turbo is easily picked. the exhaust housing is notcibly bigger. mainly wider there it meets the flange. ive had experiance running stock r32 33 34 turbos and hiflow 33 and 32 turbos. the r34 turbo in stock form shits all over the r33 turbo. ive used them back to back. ive also used r32 to r33 back to back and im tempted to go back to r32 in the aplication its on. im sure the r33 hiflow will be good but make sure you do some research on who to get to do it. not every hiflow is the same from my experiance. and throwing the biggest wheels in doesnt make for the best combination. come to think of it i have had experiance with my team mates drift car that ran a hiflowed r33 turbo on his r33. the most they could squez out of it was 240ish on pump fuel. which can almost be achived with a stock neo turbo on an rb25 with less boost, less lag, less cost and less strain on the engine. im sure you will get the right one but if you want some names of companies i do and dont recomend. PM me.

epic sized picture fail.

the lights are definatly different. a mate of mine did the same thing about 4 years ago but recently got defected and had to put it back to stock. i think if you made a perspex cover that had the same shape as the original headlight it would look good. i particualy like the black door handles on the white. ive always loved black and white mix on a 32 thoe.

im interested in the side mount cooler if you still have it.

i thonk you would be better trying nissansilvia.com for the info as most of the people that go to this event seem to be NS members.

you would have to be happy with a mechanical hassel free year. anyone racing would. the big question is thoe. if and i say if it pops do you open it up and rebuild or throw another wrecker engine in? -
The Big Red Bus
DJRIFT replied to Let Me Drive's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
wow epic build thread. i see a lot of busses get converted into motor homes. but what i dont get is why people dont buy newer/better busses to save them time and money in the long run. but ive never brought a bus so it may all work out better in the long run. what are you going to do with the wheels? polish? -

Ok so i got the head on during the week. no exciting pics there. i braced up the exhaust manifold thismorning as out of all my friends cheap manifolds the only one not to have cracked yet is the only one that had any sort of bracing between the main flange and the turbo flange. then i bolted the manifold up to the engine. because the manifold was origanly for a t4 turbo it had an adapter plat to t3 but was missing the bolts so i got some cap bolts during the week and machined them down to fit at work. the last bit i got done today was the test fitting the turbo to see how the dump pipe will fit. during the weekend i went and brought some bits off an ex-skyline owner. its funny how people acumulate heaps of shit out of skylines. the bloke had boxes of stuff he no longer needed. it was very temptiong to take it all but in the end i walked away with an old nardi wheel. a stock airbox as they are getting harder to come by and a spare boot lid so i can run multiple wing options. when i got the wing home i noticed that it has some very JDM rare stickers on it. i was stocked as i had only recently been reading up about the R32 GTR touring cars. -
what in particular are you hoping to gain out of an A/m gear set? somthing stronger like a dog set or differnt ratios? it only just accoured to me that if you was chasing difeerent ratios for different tracks you could get a second diff as well. r32 manual and auto or r33 auto diff ratios are all lower geared than the standard manual r33 diff or you could run somthing out of a late model s chassis. they are taller.

it may have been said later but the brown box controls the intermitant side of the wipers. thats where they get the "amplifier" part. pretty sure if you unplug them the wipers wont park properly on the windscreen either. ive just skimmed the whole thread. to lazy to read. if you made a movie and put hot chicks in it it would be a lot easier to follow. im liking the track orentated r33 trend. they are a far more refined car than the the 32 in every way. i often think about trading my r32 daily for a neat S2 r33 but its alway the shape thing that stops me. a mate of mine was drifting a r33 a few years back and traded back to a pig r32, posibly the worst thing hes ever done. i drifted it on track a few times and it had huge potential. a hugely understated car i belive.

6 Point Cages Can No Longer Be Registered After Jun 2011
DJRIFT replied to warps's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Tassie is one of the few states that has pretty easy to get along with rules for this kind of thing. good old SI (special interest)rego. thats used for all new regestered cars running weld in cages. SI allows for cars to be driven to and from events. on all the public roads inbetween stages ect and also for test and tune purposes. the car with the rego can only be driven 52 times a year and has to keep a current log book of kms date time ect. one of the cars i work on has it and every now and then i take it out for a spin. ive never had any issues. i belive the theroy behind it is that the SES or road side accedent people dont have the correct tools to get people out of a crashed car with a cage. while very few people have ever needed to be cut out of a cage car. well atleast in the past few years. i belive this is the excuse. -
$150 for all? they seem to be an odd size are you sure they are 50 profile?

S14 With Neo Rb25 Drift Car.
DJRIFT replied to Simon-S14's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
simon is using a remapped stock ecu i belive. or a variant on that. plenty of people run the afm in the ic piping usualy when a biger flowing ball bearing turbo is used as its suposed to stop stall and hunting issues. i know dr drift used to remap stock ecus with them in it and i have seen cars running with power fcs with them in the ic piping. -

update adapter plate and first part of the plenum bolted up ready to go on. all going well this time tomorow the head will be in place and everything will start to happen ive been tidying things up and painting bits and bobs ready to be put back on the car like this cusco master cylender stopper that used to be blue. ive finaly given the car pride of place in the shed ready to be attacked from every angle. and destickered it on one side. i decided i wont have time to build a full exhaust the way i wanted so i brought a twin 2 3/4" system that i will still have to modify but should save me some time. ill also be keeping the rear mufflers as id like the sound level to be resinable. especialy for my nebours sake with late night loading sessions. ive also gathered most of the speed flow fitting to plumb up the turbo. and am getting a fitting welded to the fuel rail for my fuel pressure sender to tidy up some more lines. -
work ewings wheels. they come with a centre plate that covers the wheel nuts up and has a big fake wheel nut that screws it all together. inside the nut has some jappo work wheels writing. theya re 3 pice also
