  1. you really dont need a reg unless you run into other tuning issues. dont get a malpassi, they work grate but after a month or so they start making a horible noise every time you prime the pump. ive seen this happe quite a few times. turbo smart ones are ment to be grate and are resomly priced. Sard ones work well but i know of one person having problems with his.
  2. im boycotting this thread till smaller pics are used
  3. have you got a steer for 2011 yet ben?
  4. Very good. is the rest far off? whens your first event?
  5. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm i love solid fuel lines. theres somthing very cool about them. you may not notice especialy running e85 but in the past we have found heat soak and cooling issues running a cooler so close to the radiator. everyone seems to be doing it in drifting circles but im wondering if you will have problems. time will soon turn

    Track Day

some do. dont you remember the the spill Rosemary gives at each club day. "un like ofther car clubs with dont discriminate". our club holds a few closed to club events. i think its to make them a bit cheaper throught cams or easyer to set up. but at the end of the day i think they offer a club membership of $10 so its no big drama to go to them. and the club day on the 27th is a symmonds one. funslow might be chasing a barsky one?
  7. the anual tuner debate. whos grabbing pop corn?
  8. paints looking good but ill have to wait till all the rims have tyres to show them off. still a few more coats to do on the rears. ive lined up some 295 tyres to have a play on once the rims are painted. i spent a good hour or more trying to make the next part of the split pipe. third time lucky i cut the peipe just right to fit. im hoping to have the finished item back early next week. that will inspire me to get the rest of the engine together. i made up the hot side cooler pipe last night. one pice from turbo to intercooler. ill put a pic up once thats done. ive made up a bracket to mount my engine dampner to. (these are a grate bit of gear. and they save engine mounts) should get that back with the exhaust. generaly heaps of little jobs done. will put some pics up after the weekend.
  9. hey Mr barron. you may not check this often. ive only just found this thread and ive only started to scim it. do you have any detailed pics as such of the garage saurus gold GTR. i think it the one with the radiator in the back if im not mistaken?
  10. i spottoed the line of mazda bater cars followed by a purple rx7 and a gunmetal r32 gtr with r33 gtr wheels on a truck and trailer. does the gtr belong to someone on here?
  11. i LAMO at classic who cars. i totaly agree
  12. yea right. a bloke i know mid last year had a brand new water pump fail after about 3 hours. the result was a fan throught a radiator and a very big repair bill. lckily the suplier of said faulty pump paid for a new water pump. new ally radiator and a thermo fan setup but i think the bloke was out of pocket for the labour. take the fan off and run decent thermos. i know every one says they dont work but if you get AU falcon or twin VT commo fans they will definatly do the trick.
  13. did it start? or are the matches coming out?
  14. Its definatly time and ive got some badges for the ocassion
  15. It would have been un-australian to not have taken advantage of a day off and worked on my car today. only a few hours thoe a i ahd to spend some of the day with the other half. i collected my welding jobs and to my suprise my mate john had polished the pipes to. he had done an outstanding job especialy for the price. i put them back in and started on the centre section. this is as far as ive gotten. thats everything tacked in bar the front section of the rear pipe. im also only half way through making a splitter to put the 3 1/2 into 2 x 3" pipes it looks ruff now but ill tidy it up. i also started on the new colour scheme for my wheels as i got some more wheels recently and have finaly decided on what i want the over all car to look like. its a bit of a wait and see now as i have a few more coats to go and i have to pain up the rears to match. hopefully they will look the part. New dead line is an event around the 20th of Feb. so it needs to see the rollers in about 2 weeks. yay.
  16. i had so much fun building your dump that i just had to make another one. ive upgraded some of the tools thoe that are making all the difference. it wasnt a bad job that whole system for a pair of noobs.
  17. im hoping to talk one of my tassie counterparts into taking a car up. other wise ill have to wait for a dvd.
  18. the pipes are done and polished aparently much to my suprise. so ill get them back wednesday then have a crack next weekend at finishing them. cams timing belt ect are back on to.
  19. i like the dials. Where did they come from?
  20. yea some sort of heat flame gard will be made. Mainly to cover up the hole. Not sure if it will be carbon alloy or ss yet. I like the alloy or ss option because they stand out a bit but carbon is super cool
  21. well this event is based on street cars so its based as a run what you brung event with the requirment of the car being road legal. Mainly just no fluid leaks. Personly flogging a r32 gtr as soon as you get it allways going to end in tears. Im pretty sure 80% of the people on here have either blown up or crashed a r32 with in the week of getting it or know some one who has. They are considered a fragile car untill you have a good check over them. i think the entry this close to the event is about 260 bux. But all then info you have asked for is on there web site.
  22. dam it now i have to give you all the credit. grate idea by the way. oh and my 4" hates nissans
  23. speedhuters has found a car with a very similar idea to mine http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/speedhunters.com/Images/2010%20Jacco/Car%20Features/KE70%20Volvo/bild053.jpg the whole article on a 2 door ke70 carolla with a volvo motor is here http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011/01/20/car-spotlight-gt-gt-volvo-powered-ke70.aspx if you dont check out speed hunters very often i find them a grate source for tuff looking time attack cars. they also follow some cool racing teams like the sumo power FIA GT2 car (r35 skyline) and a cool BMW team. more updates after the weekend.
  24. the problem is that you have brought A) a product that has suposibly been thurowly tested by the manufacture. and had a poor result. and B) you have brought a product being the 6boost manifold that every one raves about only off here say. both have unfortunatly bitten you on the bum. im disapointed in your findings as my team mate was hoping to get one but for the big $$$ outlay its another waste of time. also while i love my ITBs my engine is a rb25 and it wasnt done back to back so i can never give a definate answer to its performance gains. ill also take a stab in the dark and say its the dirty truck turbo holding you back.
  25. yep VQ if you read the first part of that link above it shows the power and weight advantages of the VQ over an rb26. its also 3 cylenders shorter. its light and short. its nothing new really as they have been putting VQs in r32 in WA for years with some hectic as results. but like i said im sure they would cost more than 3 times what a 25 would to drop in.
