just throwing this out there for the classic interest ( im not a huge follower of clasic) doesnt some voltswagen win every year? how about a DR30 with FJ20 turbo? they have IRS, turbo, cult following. i know of a good 2 door shell in tassie and also of an original rs 4 door with original fj20. Timmys had less than 6 months around EVOs and hes oviously been brain washed with all the coding he talks of AYC ABS STI rubbish. someone needs to take him for a ride in a nissan and show him what lifes about.
-
you may know already but there is a pretty good EVO 6.5 TME for sale down here ben. all the basic fruit ready to race. i reccon you should go for it. id sooner you throw an evo into the trees than a precious 32. haha. i know a bloke that can sort storage in the better end of tassie as well as a bit of an evo gooroo. if you base the car in tass and decide to do high country you can just get timmy to drive it up for you saving you the trip and the expence in freighting.

i had a mate that was keen to drive at SL but aparently the entries were filled in hours. never mind. its good to see a motorsport even filling the openings.

this is the right way. make sure to only open the nipple slightly so there is resistnace in the pedal as it goes to the floor. then make sure its shut before lifting the peddal. do it in a, Back left, back right, front left, front right pattern. also make sure it doesnt run out of fluid at any stage otherwise you have to start again. maybe try using a different colour fluid and bleeding untill you get the new colour out each brake. yes this is time consuming but worth knowing. have you replaced the master cylender? are 100% sure you have no leaks. even in the caliper seals?

3# common fault with nissan PS system is they will over heat and go rock hard. this normaly only happens in motorkhanas but can happen in drift. lock to lock and the actual wheel alignment will cause this. if you run heaps of castor. if the PS system isnt making the bullshit gurgling noise it doesnt need bleeding. the fluid over the course of a drift event will expand to the point that i usualy have a 2/3rds full r33 resivor. this is what i maintain otherwise it just poils out. if it goes hard then soft then hard thurough out a corner this usualy means a failing pump. R33s had electric hicas so not having hicas wont affect the steering. i know all of this through experiance with my mates drift 33 from a few years back.

they shouldnt be tampered with unless you have a wide band oxy sensor ect But the base fuel pressure should be around 3.5 bar. and rise under load. if its 4 or 5 bar (big difference) than its probably squirting 10-20% more fuel into the car. you have 2 options. replace the reg with the stock unit or wind the pressure back. do this at your own risk as you also have the potentual to lean the motor out by doing this as well. if it was my car id have a play with it and see.

the apexi SAFC will definatly work with the z32. they give multiple afm options when setting them up. nnon of these mods will make the stock afm max out. non of it should affect the reading like it is but in saying that if the fuel pressure has been screwed up that will cause it to run rich with out the apropriate tune. does the red have a gauge on it? its definatly what i would be checking next.

what sort of times were you guys doing? ruff timed? and tyres?

this is a disolution the same as the drift guys. Symmons actualy has better run offs and the sand traps actualy stop cars. its been a while since a car has made as big a mess of itself as the Shaw s13 recently. Not having a go but just taking the bad omen off the track. ive driven both tracks now and the speed is very similar. the back straight of barsky for me was 190 ish which is very similar to symmons depending on wind. the long trip is another aspect. you guys could hire a room at cosy cabbins. cheap as chips. ive only recently driven Barsky in lap mode and i can say its a far more exciting track for the driver. there is more to be gained/ learnt as an amature/ enthusist. im very keen to bring my car back and try again. its just a pitty that the track has a rubbish surface and that its subject to changing weather conditions every 5 mins. +1 for barsky

i bet you never had this much trouble with r31s Pete. sux the big one regardless.

Mel your about the only skyline team ben and i didnt get to chat to during the event. you guys were going grate by the end of the event. hopefully next year our prep will be better and we will have more time to socialise.

Just a heads up for the W/E. if you suffer from understeer or push into corners front to back the R1Rs and Evos.

Hmmmm. i dont think s13 people like there engines being called forklift engines. haha no SAU track day. both my 32s fail at moving under there own steam.

Z32 300Zx With Vq30 Twin Turbo Conversion
DJRIFT replied to Boosted Zed's topic in Motorsport Builds
my take on it is that the red line is the new motor given the red line is less boost. if its the red line it comes on earlier and stronger but doesnt have the top end in it just yet. its a good signe for an undeveloped engine so far. -
multi million dollar budget would be stopping most i would think. people seem to think there is only a small difference between people building race cars in there back yard and cars that are profesionaly built. theres a huge difference. and if you have ever looked at any of the pics most or all of the suspension has been changed. that would factor for a fair bit.

dont get a dirty truck turbo Justin. ;p also one important bit of info is the HKS manifold T3 or T4? ive still got thoes HPI mags next time your up this way.
-
i read recently that they were made by an alloy company in adelaide. i think it was in an old issue of HPI

the switches can be repaired providing they are not broken as such.

So just out of interest is ACE workshop an actual workshop or just a team name? Ive always loved Jap built cars that seem to go and go and go. one of the cars i look after is still 95% how it arived from japan and it has done 4 or so seasons racing. this is a grate build thread by the way. car gets plenty of use.

in reality what does a porter loo cost. all the satges are set up by people in cars so towing one to each stage is not an issue. and there seems to be a growing trend for lady navigators. ive seen Timmy in a dress and he can pass for one if the moment calls for it ;p
