Like I said, I could spend 200k on an unregistered GTR R35 and run slicks and still be eligible for outright points. I don't have a problem with all the different classes having their winners... but outright is outright. Its a CAMS State Championship, one that feeds into the Nationals (which correctly and fairly allows type 5), its not a Clubbies Championship. So why don't they have a Clubbies like championship as a part of the series rather than falsly award an Outright title? They do it for hillclimbs... where they, among other things also have a tin top title, but they know how to call a true "Outright". Its plain wrong. Outright is outright. This rule change was discrimination at its worst and doesn't feed into the Nationals... there is a disconnect. I'm not saying this because I won... because if type 5 were treated fairly, there would be a lot better type 5's than I out there. I want this fixed because it is wrong. No offense intended for those who have done so in the past, but I don't know how anyone can stand up and accept an outright title when they know they weren't the true Outright winners. If anyone thinks my car is an easy car to drive just because of what it is, then they need their head read. It wants to swap ends frequently and I have to work at it with all my might to keep her pointed straight. Some of the officials at their postings would be able to back me up, as I'm sure they saw some very testy moments. It might look easy and smooth, but trust me, it isn't. There is always going to be a car that frequently wins... just wait until its your category that is taken down for winning rather than making the rest of the field lift their game. They didn't stick to the rules, instead, they changed the rules and fixed the event outcome. I'm taking this higher with CAMS... and it appears to me that they didn't even know about this discriminating rule at the higher levels.

Shannons Wheels Show 22 March 2008
Michele replied to a20089's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Thats great, thanks Luke. Mention some of your members are also affiliated with SDMA and see if they will put us closer together, not that its a biggie if they can't, but it was a good place for access etc. -
This might help, you can see their times on the results sheet above - 2B looks like it was a Lotus Exige 1.21.83 R1_Class.pdf

R1_Results.pdf Results from the NSW Supersprints Championship More on the topic here... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Su...th-t261014.html It was a fantastic day and my first look at the GP circuit.

Thank you... I tried to have a chat to you, but you were always busy. Is that an ARC airbox you are using or custom?

CAMS told me the reason why type 5 vehicles aren't allowed to accrue points and it was nothing short of event fixing. It has nothing to do with being road registered or what types of tyres. I could accrue points if I was in the unregistered, race only, GTR R35 on slicks which is up on MY105 at the moment and still be eligible for points. This is a CAMS State Championship and should include all legitimate CAMS categories. NSW is the only State Supersprint Championship which doesn't allow Type 5 to gain points, and it was CAMS who told me the rule was brought in to "knock off a tall poppy".

No, you're right, a clubbie came third... seems the SV class is safe for now.
-
I thought the Evos came in 3rd & 4th, then the GTR - If so, it probably wont be long until they elimiate SV from points... no point in fixing the event outcomes if you don't do it properly.
-
Thanks David, your help is always appreciated - I hope you enjoyed the day and were still able to have enough time to catch up with your cousin.

Thanks, it was a LOT of fun, as are all supersprints. My car can be a real handful at times, so I'm thrilled I was able to point her around there with some good times and keep her straight LOL

Bring the GTST too, the more the merrier. I think the for sale sign will create some interest too. Good luck with it. -

I'm Ticked Off...what Gets You Wound Up?
Michele replied to LTSJayce's topic in Australian Capital Territory
The liklihood of the perp being female is highly unlikely... unless of course she was a jealous ex. Girls are GOOOOD LOL Sorry to hear Mark, I've never been able to understand any form of vandalism. I don't know what people get out of doing it, it always seems like such a waste. Who knows what makes these people tick. -
Looking at the running list for the Supersprints at Oran Park on Sunday and noticed a few GTR's... anyone from here? Who's coming?

I think Erol found where to turn data logging on, but it wanted something else first... something I thought we didn't have. The IAT sensor could be something to look at, it did get worse as it heated up

We brake hard and haven't had any issues with fade and the Ferodos yet. Round the tracks, I've often heard the serious guys refer to EBC stuff as blue sh!t, yellow sh!t and green sh!t etc so have kept away from them.
-
I've had a great run out of the Ferodo DS2500's but they are pricey. I was told they can be noisy and a lot of residue, but I haven't had too much problem with either. Reece knows someone in Qbn who does pretty good deals (so he tells me, I haven't tried).

Dimensions Of A Stock Intercooler For R32
Michele replied to Michele's topic in Australian Capital Territory
I might just do that, but only if you've taken your medication -
James its time for you to take your medication... you know you should take them on time

Does someone have a stock intercooler on their R32 GTST they can give me the dimensions of? I'm trying to ascertain the difference between the one on my GTST compared to stock.

Love The Beast - Eric Bana - Friday 20th March, Dendy
Michele replied to Michele's topic in Australian Capital Territory
hmm doesn't look like its in Woden (yet!!!) I will give them a call and find out if they are putting it on here. http://www.hoyts.com.au/Movies/details/Love_the_Beast.aspx -
I think they have a newer model which can read the larger SD cards now, something they didn't tell me when they sold me my Hero off the shelf... probably getting rid of old stock and it was more expensive than if I bought it from Lucas. Oh well. Picture quality is 'okay' for the price, but I wasn't happy with the sound or the vibration (which I fixed by wrapping gaffa tape around it, I know this isn't hard to do, but another process all the same). Look closely at the picture (when all is still) and you will see a heat like warp in the picture, sometimes its much worse and I think its electrical interference

Sdma Hillclimb This Sunday The 8th
Michele replied to Tarmac-'s topic in Australian Capital Territory
Of course you're invited... I just have to set a date. Are there many going away over Easter? Should we do it then? James - you really should lift the restraining order before you come around or it won't look good LOL -

I'm not that busy & I'm not organising the SDMA/hillclimb stand. I don't know if my GTR will be ready in time for Wheels, so haven't said either way at this stage if I'm bringing her. Her tune looks fantastic on a dyno, but does bugger all for running around. I will have the open wheeler at the SDMA stand though, so long as she comes home from Oran Park this weekend in one piece. As always... I'm always prepared to help out at any of the SAU events or fundraising bbq's etc etc I certainly haven't been one to sit on my laurels and have chipped in both physically and financially. I'm happy to email the final numbers through and take the banner if you like. Those who are there on the day can assist with the tent and the banner, won't really need the poles if we have a tent, so probably need assurances from Mick that he will be there for the troop this time *more guilt trippin*
