  2. Thanks David Neil won his class on both days and I believe he broke the class record. There is some controversy as to which class Neil should be in... keeping in mind that Neil is the first to say he believes they have him in the wrong class. It seems CAMS is not unlike the rest of us here at SAU... they just don't know where he fits in I put the new ViPEC ECU in the GTR and the guys who put in in didn't get it tuned properly in time, oh it went fine on the dyno, but farted and splattered all the way up the hill. Mark was very p!ssed off with the tune, but still managed a 3rd in class on day 1 and 2nd in class on day 2. I came second in class (Formula Libra over 2000cc) on both days and fastest lady on both days. Fabulous weekend as always and a taste of what to expect for the Bathurst Speed Weekend in December. BE THERE!!! Thanks David for your help yet again. It was awesome of you to offer and help out like you did.
  3. Congratulations to Jeno for getting 2nd in Class and to Jo *woohoooooo* for getting Fastest Lady I wish I had been there to see Stinkypoo/Eiji's drift run. Someone get some footage up on youtube for us to see. Great to see you out there again.
  4. You really meant to say "high on the NOSE" didn't you? :laughing-smiley-014:
  5. John, build a bridge and get over it Aren't you coming?
  6. I've never had trouble before, but things are pretty tight at the moment, and many good people on the market for a job. I haven't been told I will be retrenched, but I know enough about business to realise that it doesn't take six account managers to manage one account.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm retrenched before the end of the financial year.
  8. Oh it would be soooo worth every cent if the immobiliser caused them to get wiped out. Especially if James was there to 'help' them out of the car afterwards. GO JAMES!!!!
  9. We've got to get you out to the hillclimb before this LOL
  10. Looks like they have one this weekend at Marulan, although I haven't found all the details yet. I can only find a single challenge between an Evo and a Civic... hardly sounds fair to me, but I don't know what's under the hood. The concept sounds like a lot of fun. http://wp.circuitclub.com.au/?p=532 What is a Touge Battle? narada March 2nd, 2009 It's something that you've probably heard of and at least loosely know the rules. If you've never heard of touge you've probably never seen a Hot Version DVD, an Initial D episode or The Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift. You would probably also think that an AE86 (an 80s Corolla) is an ugly looking bomb. So what is a touge battle? The term touge comes directly from the Japanese language meaning 'pass' and is synonymous with the tight, windy roads that carve through the Japanese mountain side. And a touge battle is well, a battle between two cars through a touge. These battles traditionally take place in regional mountain areas on public roads, often at night when regular motorists are fast asleep. Think moonlit roads, a soft breeze blowing maple leaves across the tarmac and a tranquillity that is pierced by the sound of screeching tyres and screaming exhausts. The roads are often tight and single laned makes passing too dangerous, so the rules had to be adapted from a traditional race where 2 cars simply start side by side and see which one crosses the finish line first. A touge battle will often start with a lead car and a chase car. Think cat and mouse. The lead car will win if it can increase the gap on the chase car significantly. If the chase car can closes the gap, then the chase car wins. If there is no difference between the two cars, then there is a draw. If any car spins out or crashes it's an automatic loss. Now, we can't claim that we are holding Australia's first Touge Battle. There are plenty of public roads that would suit the purpose and we can't say one has never been done there. What we can say is that this is the first officially organised touge battle that is totally legal and most importantly…safe. So why now? The opening of the Marulan Driver Training Centre has given us the perfect venue. It's a very tight track with aggressive corners and natural undulations. In short, it's a track that makes you feel like you're driving through a national park. And because the track is not designed as a race track, it does not allow safe passing through corners. So then, what are our rules? A coin is flicked prior to the first run and the winner can choose if they would like to lead first or chase first. The chase and lead cars will rotate positions for 3 runs. Winning a run will earn 1 point, and 2 points will win the battle. Points will be judged by a panel of 3 and awarded by majority vote. The gap must have grown or contracted visibly for a judge to vote for a point. If the battle is tied after three rounds, then a sudden death battle will occur. Simple right?
  11. I went to a professional booth to have that done before I went to the Masters Games for Netball... and sweated it half off in the first game, then another half (of half) for the next game, and so on LOL my netball socks had a lovely tan though, just it was on the inside.
  12. Nerm (Ex!$t3nZ) Shell Michele Mark Chris (SteadyEddie) Jayce Jeno (tarmac) Jo John? Bec? Reece Kate?
  13. Well happy birthday again for today, does that add another year to your age though? I think it should.
  14. Mine is comprehensive. I doubt it would be included if you only had TPP, as your own car isn't covered with TPP.
  15. Who are we to exclude any of our members from the SAU display? Its not a Skyline display, its a Skylines Australia display. Friendships on here will go way beyond this day, and those walking around won't give a sh!t if others join in. So why should we take on an elitist attitude and tell our friends they can only bring their car if its a Skyline? Are we too proud to group our Skylines next to another make of car? As I've said before, the likelihood of anyone bringing a non Skyline is highly unlikely, however we're not going to say they're not welcome. There was no need to say that in the first place. It was better off unsaid and all would have been fine. As Sin said, we're adult enough to make up our own minds.
  16. That's terrific Bob... I can't wait to see the R35 in the flesh
  17. Bulahdelah is very much like day 2 of the Bathurst Speed Weekend. If you want to see the track, go to google earth and type in the following addresses... Start line: 10394 pacific highway, Bulahdelah Finish Line: 10278 pacific highway, Bulahdelah Then use street view to see the full track.
  18. I'm on FB, but almost never use it... found Melly's pic when I was looking at Bec's FB.
  19. I agree, I am guilty of making a mountain out of a molehill on this matter - but is it wrong to want to ensure we maintain an inclusive community here and not discriminate against our members because of what they drive?
  20. Thats exactly what I believe will happen, but I refuse to dictate to SAU community as to who/what I will allow or disallow at a public event and wish that others would be as considerate and let the members make up their own mind. Unless someone can tell me otherwise, I believe we are free to make up our own minds without having someone impose such rules. I don't even care if Richards pooprah is parked beside my car but as I have alluded to in one of my previous posts on this matter, I doubt there will be any... so why bother imposing rules? SAU are participating in an event. All SAU members are welcome. The choice is yours.
  21. Hmmm Melly really should give permission first... if she says okay... well than who am I to deny you all?
