My sedan has an LSD :-) On the GTX-turbo - including 4 door - it was standard ie http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/nissan/skyline/1998_5/21632/

there will be an old post about this when we were all getting our stageas a few years ago - quite a few of us put after makrket rostra units in as they are easy to install and don't need any wiring on the steering shaft as the 'remote' just sticks to it (indeed, you can give it to the kids in the back and they can slow or speed up the car, my 2 yo at the time enjoyed doing that.. :-) ) Ian

Can't Upload To My Gallery
ian replied to Sklyn's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
glad I found this post, as wasn't sure if I had to book myself in to a retirement home given I couldn't see an obvious way to upload a new picture to my gallery... Of course, it still might be me as I can't even find the upload button to press... -
I just said something on this topic over here - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/405420-v35-insurance-drama/page__view__findpost__p__6466038 - I think it will happen to everybody (ie 50%+ premium increase) at Just as their premiums come due....
-
It won't be when you renew... I've just got mine and it has gone up 50% since last year (financial) even though we have no clams etc .... They say it's because of the hail damage earlier in the year - which they paid out on but others didn't - and should 'hopefully' be a one year spike. So anybody getting their renewal now (since 1/2/2012) from Just is in for a bit of a shock...
-
Yep, it wouldn't let me edit it! Definitely not worth that now! When I finally get off my backside I will do a new post with a more sensible price at the top of the screen, as I think anyone looking at this one won't get past the first sentence... :-) For 2005 that was an OK price - remember the dollar was a lot lower then and the car was a lot newer :-) Part of the trouble is I really do like driving it, it's just that we have shifted home and now really don't need two six cylinder turbo cars!
-
7 years later and I still have this car - though it has done a few more kms! I'm going to be selling it some time over the next few months, so if anyone is interested - at NOTHING like the original price (!!!!!) send me a pm..

Brake Pads Users Ratings Guide
ian replied to Snowman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
They had been machined when I originally tried them.. Because Greg, back then you told me that they were fine for around the street - indeed they were what you were recommending. You would have been right too apart from the noise! Ian -
Brake Pads Users Ratings Guide
ian replied to Snowman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I posted that in june 2009 - after I had given up on the A1RM's - don't buy them if you can't stand extreme noise! - and had swapped to the bendix heavy duty. A week or so ago they wore out, so I got almost 3 years of driving around town with them on which isn't any where near as good as the original ones. Needed another pad in a hurry, so put the a1m in that where sitting in the shelf. Lasted in 3 days as I'd forgotten how bad they were for noise! I even tried the anti noise spray etc etc, before giving up on them yet again... While I was down at repco buying something else, I mentioned I was looking at some new pads and the guy said they do repco branded ones for the skyline now, which are super quite with integrated shims. Given I was buying a few other things he did them for $70 (for the front two pairs) so I thought, what the heck, worth trying. I've been pleasantly surprised - dead quite, reasonably good feel - but remember I'm not doing track (or anything like it!) I'm just driving around town... If you want a straight replacement when the standard ones where out, I don't think it is a bad choice... Ian ps PM me if you want a pair of not very used front A1RM's for a r34 gtt for a cheap price, as they are never going in again... :-) -
BNR34 005504 GTR Vspec, prod October 1999. bayside blue, model GGJPRWYR34ZDAAAKCD Edit - whoops, didn't hit page refresh so hadn't noticed someone else had done it...

BNR34 001227 GTR Vspec, Jan 1999 production, color TV2 (bayside blue, same as my stagea, I reckon the best color..), model GGJPRWYR34ZDAABK-D
-
Production date Feb 1997, KR4 color, HICAS, RWD, Manual 5 speed, model GGKBRTFR33VDA----A, and it's a GTS25T - and I don't know how to bring up the 'options' page that a few other people have posted - can anyone tell me how to? Ian
-
yep, that will be it as I only have the files for japan, america, and europe (ie the A, B, G, And E files). Ian
-
I tried a few different combinations(it is entered in two fields ie BNR32013343 is "BNR32" and "013343") ie JN1WRGY60A 0046947 JN1WRGY60 A0046947 WRGY60A 0046947 WRGY60 A0046947 And it can't find anything. And it isn't the build date either, as though my copy of fast is a bit old it has our feb 2001 stagea in it (Looking at the list it has I have data up to about July 2001) and it definitely goes back to the 80's... So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.... Ian
-
I believe so, put up the vin and I'll try it! Ian

I'm sitting here with the start of the flue today, so thought I'd reinstall fast (Haven't run it for years) and help out a few of these... 6U9000BNR32007072 - R32, made march 1990, color kh2, GT-R manual, model KBNR32RXFSLMZG BNR32013343 - R32, made December 1990 (so definitely not 1993!), color kh2, GT-R manual, model KBNR32RXFSLMZG 6U900BCNR33004065 - R33 GTR/V, made March 1995, color LP2, model GGJPRWFR33ZDA----- 6U9000HNR32036867 - R32 GTS-4, manual 5 speed, rb20det engine, made may 1993, color 732, 4wd, model KRNR32RGFSLCA DR30 036466 - R30 made sept 1983, color 060, and "F5" is coming up where the model normally is. Parking Car When Away For A Few Weeks
ian replied to rondofj's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I used to leave my r34 for a couple of months at a time while I traveled - and never had a problem once I figured out what to do.. I got one of these - http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=MB3501 - and hard wired it in ie do NOT put it in your cigarette lighter as that isn't connected to the battery when you take the keys out! I just put a little socket up under the dash, with a matching plug on the charger, and last thing I did was to put the charger on the dash in between the glass and sun shade, carefully parking the car pointing north.. It started every time I got back with no problems. Mind you, if I was going for more than 3 months I parked at a friends place so he could take it for a drive once a month. And yes to one of the post above, it is the alarm that normally draws the most power, assuming you don't have a problem (I measured mine back then, but cant' remember the number). Ian -
I agree with the posts above, no way that is a 4 (and if they are telling you fibs on that, what else are they fibbing about??).
-
- I'll try and find my original stagea manual later today, as (as I said above:-) ) my rs4s definitely came with 225/50r17 and that's what was on the door as well - which would make it the same as the 260rs above.. .. anyway, getting back to the thread initial topic, I'd say put the widest '50's' you could on the rims you have (I reckon you don't need 45's on a stagea - onlike a skyline where you need them on the back!) and stay well away from that tyre guy as he is either a) an idiot or b) trying to con more money out of you. Not to mention he is telling you to put tyres to wide for your rims on... Ian
-
Maybe not - the R34GTX turbo - which was a GTT with pretty much all the optional extras ie limited slip diff etc etc came with AVS wheels from the factory. I think they are 8inch, as I have had 255/45 on them.... Ian
-
No it won't fit from a r34.
-
and mine are 225/50/r17 - which is also on the door panel. But mine is a series 2 rs4s - so I think the rims might be 7.5 inch, not 7, though I'm not sure as I've only had them off once, and it was a few years ago... I do remember that they are smaller than my 8 inch rims on my skyline... Ian
-
I stand corrected, even if it doesn't make much sense to me theoretically..:-) In my case it doesn't ,matter as what I'll have at the front won't make any difference to the crash profile anyway. In addition, I think it is pretty clear that the stagea was designed to have one - the mounts are all there and even have the bolt holes pre drilled.. Thanks for the info Ian
-
nah, that isn't how airbags work. There is nothing you could do at the front of your car that would impact the air bags..
-
I had a look through the front grill (duh...:-) ) at it's pretty obvious where you attach it as the stage was obviously made to take a bull bar as not only doe it have the mounting points but also the holes for the bolts! I hadn't realized this, as my skyline certainly doesn't... Give that, I'm probably going to weld up my own thingy, I'll put some pictures up when I do.. Now all I have to work out is how to get the front bumper off so I can measure it all up properly, I'll start undoing all the obvious screws this weekend.. :-) Ian
