The vents face backwards from the direction of travel and they aren't that massive, so hence why it only gets a little bit when you stop at the lights. A genuine nismo has the same vents, but has internal water drains to help guide the excess water away from the engine, but still has the same size vents, so even heavy rain would leave a few drops on the engine. I think people get the impression that water just pours into the engine bay, when in fact it gets barely anything.

I have a copy and water doesn't piss in with QLD rain. Each to their own I guess, but as I said I have had one for over 2 years without any issues at all. Only time a decent amount of water gets in the bay, is when I hose my car and even a genuine nismo wouldn't stop that.

What sort of monsoons are you guys driving in.... I have a z tune bonnet and have had one for over 2 years without any issues at all. The only time i see a bit of water in the bay is when i spray it with a hose. But rain I have never ever had an issue with.

Yeh plenty of guys punching 300kw with the stock 6 speed evo 8/9 box anything over that and it gets hairy. But the evo 7, 5 speed box is super strong and few guys pushing over 350kw with them, very common upgrade for the 8/9 guys. As for power... evo with exhaust, intake and tune (on the stock ecu) will get 220kw on pulp... add in injectors and pump and you can have 250-260kw on E85 all day.... There is a reason you see SO many evos as track cars and bugger all STIs
