  1. I was a teen during that era the wet skid pan 200SX adverts rocked. Back to content in that page - I knew that the L series of engine was essentially an evolution of the Mercedes that Prince licensed, however did not know that the A series was the same deal - derived from an Austin engine - and I call myself a Datsun enthusiast! ALSO The Nissan Motorsport page is also different. Nice chronology in there, it simply does not exist on the English pages (not that I could find anyway) http://ja.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%97%A5%E7%94%A3%E8%87%AA%E5%8B%95%E8%BB%8A%E3%81%AE%E3%83%A2%E3%83%BC%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B9%E3%83%9D%E3%83%BC%E3%83%84 - just realised I didn't spell Japanese properly in my subject line (der)
  2. I was trawling some old R32 Skyline advertising (you know, the crazy one with UFO's) and came across the "Feel the beat" marketing slogan they used (as you do) - after trying to find out some more about it I stumbled across the Nissan Japan wikipedia entry on the Japanese wikipedia site. It's VASTLY different to the English entry and goes into detail regarding naming conventions, marketeers catch phrases and other things I thought would be interesting to those that dig on that detail. http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%97%A5%E7%94%A3%E8%87%AA%E5%8B%95%E8%BB%8A (you'll need a native tongue or google translate) Main catchphrase ------------------------ Of the world Nissan (1960) Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. is aimed at creating a harmony between the people and the car (1970 -1973 years) Nissan is aiming to tomorrow of people and cars (1974 -1977 years) Of technology aimed at tomorrow's people and cars Nissan (1978 -1981 years) Of advanced technology to be loved in the world Nissan (1982) You are already running started to 21 century of advanced technology Nissan (1983 -1985 years) Of advanced technologies aimed at the 21st century Nissan (1985) Feel the Beat of more fun and feel remain the technology Nissan (1985 -1991 years) The car the kindness of LIFE TOGETHER human (1991 -1998 years) The joy of car (January 1999 - "Renault Nissan Alliance =" capital tie-up before) NISSAN, RE N A ISSAN CE ("Renault Nissan Alliance =" capital tie-up after -2000 year in April) SHIFT_the Future (11 January -2008 December 4, 2001) The possibility of SHIFT_the way you move the car, to the future. (March-year in November 2008 -2012) The excitement was not until now. SHIFT_ [11] (4 April - 2013 2012) The Innovation that excites exciting did not until now. (April 2013 - present) You can see from the Catch Phrases that the SHIFT_ campaign was probably the only global one (and coincides with the Renault thing) Does anyone remember the local marketeers with their "Come alive, come and drive, Nissan!" or "It's a Nissan, that's my car" hah. Anyway, thought it was interesting and wanted to share.
  3. The ones in my gts4 are bungholio, I'm also in inner syd. Have dropped you a line.
  4. Could I have my username changed to Stribs please. 10x.
  5. Did the gtr tank bolt straight in? I recall something being slightly different about it, but can't find the thread after a bit of searching. Would like to know
  6. Just went from start to end of this thread, amazing attention to detail (pics don't work but i'm assuming from your later comments it's a security thing ) - thanks for all the documentation effort you've gone to.
  7. Looking for a previously complied (so it can be road registered) 2 door R32 roller - must be straight with a reasonable interior, mechanicals don't matter. NSW preferable.
  8. interested - can you send me pm with your mobile, i'm just down botany road. =)
  9. Yo - is that a 2 seater?? I've seen 2x 200ZR-II's that were 2 seater, but in the 2+2 shell in australia, and also a few googling sites in japan. I was looking for a 200ZR-II 2 seater hardtop to take to the track but in the end gave up - a tall ask to find, i've only seen one of them on the yahoo auction sites in 6 months of prowling Attached a pic of my pride and joy destroyed I'm asking for $7500 - salvage (~$1500) - do you think thats reasonable?? The other persons insurance company say they can't put a market value on it because it's an import. <pffft> This is what happens when a commodore coming out of a driveway decides to attach itself to the side of your car when you're in a line of 3 vehicles doing 50km/h and he thinks there are only 2.
  10. Snap. I looked far and wide for the last of the "true" (straight6) zed also and ended up with this 200ZR 2 seater specimen in 2004. If I am interpreting the chassis # correctly it was the 36th ever made, all my other cars had many many more clones come before them compared to this one =) Unfortunately I got run into in march and it's been declared a total loss by the insurance company; Try finding any panels for these beasts from the windscreen back, it's not fun. =( More pics of my old daily -before- the smash - skylab.bitstripped.net Z31 200ZR Matt.
