Back to E/C for a momemt as I couldn't care less about WSID. I have been a member of the ARDC for some years now and much like every other car club most big decisions are made by the exec comittee with little input from members. If the ARDC had asked me what I thought about the place I would have said,,,spend the taxpayers millions (7 I think) and the clubs 2 million on fixing the place. Bulldoze turn 2's hill and bulldoze corporate hill so spectators can actually see some more of the track. Move all the rubbish/landfill over to the tip,,,fill it up and close it down permanently. Thats the big bugbear with the joint,,,you can't see most of the track. Build cement step type undercover smaller stands around the place so people have somewhere to sit and enjoy the racing without the heat and rain killing them. The other big problem is as usual with Govt depts,,,they build or approve housing ect with next to NO public transport at all. Try getting to E/C one day with a family on the cheap,,,it's not going to happen. People need to get to these venues cheaply,,,Oran parks new housing estate is a prime example,,,is there a rail link,,,is there a Bus link,,,,NO. Personally I don't want E/C to change the track layout at all,,,I like it just how it is. Cheers Neil

Saturday was a Handley day,,,so I spent Sunday piss farting around with mine. Why not fit the brakes,,,fitted the n/s/f disc and pads,,,all went as usual. Went to do the o/s/f and one piston will not retract,,,stuffed around for ages and thought this is crap,,,so I pulled it all apart and will now get seal kits chucked in there. Just for good measure I'm going to remove the rears as well and put kits in them as well,,,shit why not pull the master off and do that to. Oh well seems the closer I try to get to getting the car going the harder it becomes. Cheers Neil.

Great to hear she's running big fella. So now you don't have to burn her as I'm way off starting. Cheers Neil.

Yea whatever fathead,,,if they charged by helmet size you would pay a lot more than a hundred bucks. Seems the women of SAU are the ones with the brains,,,mine made me buy a quality fire-restaint road racing helmet,,,Josh's misses bought Bell quality,,,Kelly wears Stilo quality and YOU own rubbish. Cheers Neil.

Yep sure have mate,,,no bloody metric !!!. Cheers Neil.

I know what you mean Terry,,,but so far no-ones been hurt,,,well maybe some pride. Sometimes SAU gets just a little to serious. I laughed at some of the posts and I know theres more to come. Fatz hasn't regaled his death trailer story yet. Cheers Neil.

I had another incident with the new trailer that was a little embarrassing. We had driven down to Vic for some fun at Sandown raceway. Stopped off at Marks warehouse to help him out getting his car ready. Not a problem,,,I'd checked out where all his posts were positioned and started reversing up his long long driveway,,,trouble is I forgot about the one pole the stuck out further than the rest. Yep I hit it at 5/10 kays,,,got out and thought just a love tap,,,no biggy. cops rectum ,,,it took us 10 minutes to get the rear gate open,,,now I'm very worried,,,so I decide to test it by jumping on it. We now have half the massively heavy gate sitting on the concrete,,,three hours later we have it all welded up and basically fixed. Lucky he had a kick-arse mig welder there or I would have been in all sorts of crap. If you look at the middle of his roof you can just see the top of said pole,,,it looks much closer and taller than it really is. Digi cameras have no depth of field. I have since fixed it properly and funny enough it fits and works better than when I bought it. Cheers Neil.

Okay,,,thought this might be a bit funny,,,I'm quessing some will not be. Before I ever owned a race car I had never really reversed or owned a big trailer. Yea sure the odd box trailer but not a car trailer with a car on board,,,Excellent learning curve indeed. No Pics sorry 1st trailer (Fatz's) I repeately reversed into my letterbox thinking the trailer was stuck on the kerb,,,like really I'm rooted after having raced all day and just wanted to get it over with. The tree and thankfully the trailer Won,,,the poor letter box got well and truely munched. Down to Bunning in the morning for a new one and a bag of cement. Cheers Neil.

Hang on a sec there big boy,,,thats no shitbox,,,or are you talking about the white one parked near the kiddies playground?. Here's a vid of me in the Handley mobile,,,no thrashing,,,just wanted to check out Jenna's rear end. Oh isn't there a heap of room on the bonnet for some nice person to sponsor him!!! Cheers Neil.

Not a lot really,,,just made sure over and over that we did everything right. We have moved the engine oil cooler to the n/s though. Personally I'd like to move the pas cooler as well,,,but that a job down the track. Water temps,,,I'd like to see her stay at a constant 88,,,maybe 90 at a stretch. While it wasn't that hot a wakie last weekend I watched the gauges all day and that poor stat must have got very confused. If I was you with your big horsepower I would run 2 big oil coolers,,,each behind both sides of the front bar or dry sump your bitch. Cheers Neil.

Yea nice lap time tiger,,,see you should never bag out the iphone,,,,we would have gone all the way home with you bitching about a 1.07,,, and I only had a six pack. I find it very amusing that 2 amateurs put an engine together that can now go out and race without having to really touch it!!!. We do have some work to do though,,,,we need to somehow get the water temp up about 10 degrees and fix whoever screwed 2 self tappers into the bov plenum,,,,IDIOTS. Brad I have lots going on in the back ground mate,,,actually I've decided on gauges which will be stack,,,so I am comparing prices all over the world at the moment. I was going to go with the recall ones but I've decided not to as thats just over-kill. Cheers Neil.

Wow,,, thats crazy. I just checked my 2 year old road racing Bell and it only has the snell approval. Well i shouldn't say only,,,snell is the highest standard. It does have another little sticker that basically says it's for racing use only. Cheers Neil.

Eric,,,My wife works at John Newell Mazda so if you need any help with parts,,,please ask. chunkylover69,,,nice detective work,,,NOT!!!. I have some history with that "racecar" when Dan drove it years ago. Basically it's piece of crap and I should know I spun spanners on it. The last time I saw it,,,it broke an o/s/f lower control arm and expired at the fish hook. That's just one incident,,,,there were more. It's a pity that 2 of our drivers stopped and put out the fire,,,should have let it burn to the ground. Cheers Neil.

Well Tiger you might have said ALL you needed to say but I Haven't. I WILL be bringing the Radical and thats THAT !!!,,,get Don to ring me (0419160561) if you like,,,but it seems RENEW have way to much to say about running this 3 event series. I have run the Radical at tons of OUR events without a problem,,,ever. Our drivers don't have a problem with Ben or I,,,is it an issue with yours ???. "Suggested my old boss who races a minetti in the same class as radicals and wests to a track day and the concerns I'm mentioning now are the sort of things that came up in the discussion". Would that be Dennis or Scotty???. Cheers Neil.

Duncan will have to drive his street registed GTR down there for the next one,,,my trailer will have an SAU "big gun" inside. We can't have Renew winning can we. Cheers Neil.

Excuse my seemingly stupid question but who the hell is "YT"???. Cheers Neil.
-
Actually I was driving the Handley mobile in that session,,,so I'll take that lap time thanks very much. Cheers Neil.

I love the way your going mate,,,learning as you go,,,very cool. Got any more pics of your dog,,we might own a great dane but we love dashounds!!!. If you want to fill in the rear seat belt holes so no water comes in,,,try and find a van like a vw kombi that was made in both a people mover and a delivery van. The delivery version will have plastic screw in plugs that do the job perfectly. Cheers Neil.

Yea he sure does Werdna Zeb-Drew. Actually thanks for reminding me about the cage,,,I've decided I'm not painting it or the interior,,,. We have found a very helpful shop thats willing to do it all cheap. They fixed my front bar and painted it,,,filled/painted my boot lid and cut the rust out of the falcon for nothing,,,we ended up paying them with 4 cases of Stella. The boys were stoked. So I now need to get all the interior sorted,,,all the excess studs ect removed and drill the holes for my lap timer,,,. I'm going to have a very busy holiday. I've not even contemplated Motec at the moment mate,,,that will come when I need telemetry and have out-grown the power fc which could be a while yet. I'm on the hunt for wheels at the moment,,,I like these with not so much dish and these old school ones,,,but in black. Trouble is they have to be 17 x 8's and I need 5. If anybody has something,,,post them up. Cheers Neil

Your always welcome Dan. I've actually booked a weeks holiday next week so I can get some work done. I'm making a list of what to do,,,it never gets any shorter!!!. Mr courier delivered this today. I was going to go a full custom cooler but whats the point,,,this one will do the job and they are so cheap these days. The whole kit cost me under $700 bucks,,,my old one which was much the same bought 8 years ago cost $2200. Cheers Neil.
