No dramas at all buddy 1 primer should do it. I only did the gear surround, ash tray, stereo surround and the side panels for the power windows and I only JUST got enough paint out of 1 can to do them all with the small pressure packs, so safe to say 2 would be needed. I did the aircon unit, air con vents and guage pod in the darker paint and that used up about 3/4 of the can doing 4 coats of paint on all those panels.

Original Japanese Price Of A R34 Gtt?
Yo-Yo replied to JI34GT's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
^Not to mention all the imports taxes and tariff's that would've been slapped onto the car should it have ever been officially sold in australia, many manufacturers today are moving their production plants into thailand for australian delivered cars due to some free trade agreement going on between our countries -
Cheers mate, I thought about it but would've been too glary in the sun Thanks

1. Start off by taking out the ash tray, you'll see a screw holding down the gear stick surround, once it's off you can pop out the surround (dunno if there's anything extra involved for an auto. You'll need to unplug the alligator clips holding the cigarette lighter 2. Use a flat head screwdriver and wedge it in between the air con vents and the edge of the dashboard being very careful not to scratch anything, easiest to do it on the opoosite side of the hazard lights, gently pry the air con vents out until it comes loose, you need to unclip the hazard lights. Up to you if you want to take out the hazard switch for painting purposes, simply hold the clips together holding it in and slide the switch out. 3. The first 2 steps will reveal the screws holding in the air con unit and stereo, unscrew these and the aircon and stereo come out together on the same bracket. You can then unscrew the air con unit and take it out. Once that is done you can then unscrew the stereo surround and take it out. 4. now that these are out the last thing left will be the triple guage pods up top. When you take out the air con vents it will reveal the screws holding the pod in place. once the screws are off it's a simple case of sliding it forward and out to reveal the screws holding the guages in. The guages are a 1 piece setup so all you need to do is unscrew them at either end to remove. 5. Paint the parts to your heart's content then put them back into place in reverse order

I just did mine today! Many thanks to 666DAN's thread for giving me the inspiration. I used the powerplus desert rose like Dan did, and also their silver for the gear and stereo surround to give it that brushed aluminium look that's like in my Z . R32___Australian_Specification.pdf

Compared to the other batmobile style kits it is definitely understated in that it still retains the factory silhouette albeit more aggressively. Serious answer
-
Best thing for R33's and skylines in general is to keep it simple as far as body mods, A lot of aftermarket kits ruin the factory lines by being too chunky or have way too much overhang (ala veilside's creases and folds), R34's especially look horrid with most aftermarket kits (I do like the top secret one though) As much as people will bag the 400r front bar for being too common, it's that way for a reason, prolly the best looking bar getting around aside from a gtr style bar. When I had my R33 I had 400r sideskirts and a cutom rear lip on the bumper to match. I was going to put on a gtr style bumoer but ended up selling it and getting my R34 This is a pic of a genuine 400r, there are many fibreglass copies available. Similar styling to this would be my pick, aggressive but understated, not over the top like veilside

hmmm, maybe I should switch to a ps3. Dunno about you guys, had my 360 for the better part of 2 years and never missed a beat *fingers crossed*
-
I think it was an r34 gt-t actually, but yeah can always be copied. There's also an s15 I saw with the whole engine painted that way, very cool. Oh, nice job btw. P.S It would be good to paint the oil filler cap or get an aftermarket one to complete the look I guess, like I said before a radiator air deflector plate makes a pretty noticeable impact on the look of an engine bay too if you're wanting to dress it up a bit

why you can order them from any nissan dealership with a parts department, all they need is the japanese VIN and the model of your car i guess? I paid $100 (extortion I know, but I really wanted them, actually now that I remember what I paid for em I think I'll keep the badges on lol) As far as HKS parts, no I just like their logo so I decided to put it on my car, along with my hello kitty and spoon badges - HKS pod - HKS SSQV ^came with the car - HKS turbo timer - HKS hi power silent cat-back so yeah, I have kind of have a preference for hks stuff. But put on a badge more because their logo is nice and simple and I thought it would look good as a badge on my bootlid

Mazda 3 is a nice car, was almost going to buy one... then on the drive to the mazda dealership I spotted a sleek looking car on the corner of a car yard, turned out to be this quirky thing called an r33 skyline. ended up buying the skyline (talk about a completely different world) and started my love affair with imports, was never a big fan of cars before then. Go figure
-
Good to see you're getting a kit on, any luck finding the rear bar mate? I hate the 'aero/altia' rear bar, too boxy and that part with the skyline writing sticks out like dogs b@lls. P.S I stumbled across here coz I was trawling the wtb to see if anyone wants some perfect working oem gt-t coilpacks for cheap, know anyone?
-
^The 25 GT-t badge looks a bit poxy imo. At the moment I put a simple HKS badge(purely the logo, no writing on the bottom) on my bootlid where there would be a GTR badge on a GTR looks quite tough My car came from japan with the skyline lettering taken off, I ordered a new set and had it on for about a year now, but now I'm getting the urge to take it off again lol. If you buy a genuine set it will even have the letters spaced out properly and one side of the packaging will line up with the RHS taillight so you can get a perfect fitment
-
Seen one done in a magazine where he used the old rising sun flag as a design, My one don't fit no more as i/c piping gets in the way, I prefer it without the cover and it probably lets the heat escape better. Radiator air deflector would tidy up that engine bay a bit too

Non-turbo R33 Stock Exhaust
Yo-Yo replied to wilorichie's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
pretty common apparently, In the stock exhaust for n/a(non-turbo) r33's at least, there's a butterfly valve in one of the exhaust pipes that opens up at a certain rpm, could be something to do with that? Try to see if you can find another n/a r33 to see the sound it makes at the same rpm good luck, and welcome to the forums. P.S you might have better luck in the n/a section of the forums -
Anyone but Kyle Sandilands, That tool can only do one dumb@ss "deer in the headlights" look on all his tv poses and pictures

Willl R34 Gtr Side Skirts Fit Onto A Gtt?
Yo-Yo replied to DNGRUS's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Hopefully this can help... 1st pic is a GT-t with the nismo add on side-lip that bolts onto the bottom, meant for a GTR so safe to assume GTR/T skirts are the same length... Whether or not the flared guards of the GTR affect the bottom section where a normal skirt would attach is another question, maybe you can make it out in the pics or compare other GT-R replica Real Deal Good luck! -
At least Holden, Ford and Toyota have a crack, Nissan's advertising department should be lined up against a firing squad, if they even employ one.

my car came with a hks mushroom pod from japan, and it was secured by two metal braces that were bent at the end so it could use the factory holes meant for the airbox to hold the pod in place. Would be easy to d.i.y your own ones with some sheet metal Cable ties would be a good band aid fix but I doubt it would impress the cops.
