  1. Geeze that does look disappointing! Interested to see other results before we completely right it off but its not looking too good so far. Once this has occured Brad can eat some humble pie
  2. Reminds me of:
  3. Do yourself a favour and have read of the comments, they are hilarious. So much hate, mostly for the toyota camry. After reading all these comments no wonder our road system is so screwed!
  4. Hi, I am chasing a 3" Front Pipe only for an R34 GTT 2 door. Located in melbourne. Cheers Jeff 0400648813
  5. HAHAHAHAHAHA woops, yup I did misread. So hes just saying bigger is better. Its a pity that all off the shelf products for the RB25 I have found only come in 3". EDIT: I lie, XForce sell a 3.5" catback option but nothing for the front half which I think is more important. We dropped my 3" fujitsubo catback and it only made less than 5kw difference on the 280rwkw it normally makes.
  6. Your post confuses me. Firstly you recommend a 3.5" front pipe, then say people have gained power by going back from a 3.5" to a 3" catback exhaust and then completely deny the exhaust cooling idea. If you dont believe in this what do you think it is the reason? Surely the exhaust is hotter at the start and cooler by the time it exits the rear tip? Then after saying people have gained power by going back from a 3.5" to a 3" catback exhaust you quote many cars needing to go to 3.5" exhausts?? I value your opinion as your suspension experience helped me solve my axle tramp so I am interested to understand what you are trying to say.
  7. Your automatic is controlled via the nissan ecu. The best way is to use Nistune as suggested above as the gearbox settings can be tuned directly. Otherwise if you get another ecu you will need a separate gearbox controller or something?? Summary get a nistune! Check out the places in Perth that use Nistune: http://www.nistune.com/ordering-distributors.php
  8. Problem I have with XR6T's and LS1's is the handling YUCK! Once you start driving a skyline its very hard to go back steering and handling wise!
  9. My understanding is a good ceramic coating is way better than exhaust wrap so I wouldnt bother with the exhaust wrap as well. The front pipe is 90% under the car so I dont think you will see much drop in underbonnet temps from heat wrapping the front pipe. May even be worse because it insulates it from the airflow underneath the car.
  10. Hi, I am in the process of troubleshooting/fine tuning my setup. I am wondering how people measure pressure/temp drops across intercoolers, intake restrictions, exhaust backpressure, manifold pressure etc. What tools do you use? How did you fit them? Any help much appreciated!
  11. Congratulations! Let us know how it goes!
  12. Why the hell do big companies make exhausts like this??? Greddy: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Greddy-Nissan-Skyline-R33-GTS-t-RB25-MX-Front-Pipe-/200563900514?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eb28a4062 Apexi: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/APEXi-GT-Spec-Front-pipe-Skyline-R34-ER34-RB25DET-/380277809380?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item588a52e0e4 Surely it would cost more to have a change in diameter then just straight pipe??
  13. Hey all, I am off on a holiday to Japan! I will be in Tokyo from the 10th of Feb and then travelling up to Hokkaido on the 18th of Feb. I will have a car from the 18th till the 25th. Will also have a railpass from the 10th to the 18th. I tried using all those fantastic links provided in the stickies but most of the calendars were still in Japanese after I clicked English. I would love to see a Japanese motorsport event, even just amateur drifters or something. Could someone recommend an event that I could attend? Thanks!
  14. Anyone know a good exhaust shop in melbourne that could build one up for me?
  15. I am definitely interested. Looking on the Just Jap site the difference is only for the catback, not for the dump/front pipe.
  16. Other options: CES: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CES-RACING-Nissan-R34-3-DUMP-PIPE-/130405752176?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e5cc9dd70 OR: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-R34-Neo6-Dump-front-pipe-/330523540838?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cf4bcfd66 Anyone have any feedback on any of these?
  17. Hey mate, how did you go with this? I wasnt happy with the just jap dump/front pipe either, the bellmouth part had quite a large lump in it which would slow flow down considerably, plus the guys installing it were constantly complaining saying it didnt fit nicely. I am also looking for other options. Bit pricey but was considering these two: http://www.justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=18666&cat=0&page=5 http://www.justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=18454&cat=&page=1 $800 just for a dump and front pipe setup OUCH! Does anyone in melb make up good custom ones?
  18. Forgot about the 3076 in 1.06 twinscroll T4! Dont know much about this EFR7670, will have a read.
  19. If your after maximum response and dont care about wasting your twinscroll T4 manifold then go a 3076 0.82. Can make a super responsive 300rwkw, check out Al's setup first dyno on Page 4 of RB30 dyno results.
  20. Did you read that link I posted? "a 1.06a/r T4 twinscroll housing builds boost faster than a .82a/r open T3" "From that result I'd be picking a 1.05a/r twin scroll T4 EFR8374 to be an absolute torque monster on an RB30!" Read through the RB30 dyno results and pick a turbo from there. Would be such a shame to not use the T4 twinscroll manifold!
  21. I reckon sell it and get a 1.05a/r twin scroll T4 EFR8374 or GT35R with twin scroll T4 1.06. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/146447-borgwarner-efr-8374-vs-garrett-t04z-3.html
  22. That looks terrible. Is that 2.5" section part of the dump pipe or the front pipe? Either way it is most likely the cause and should be changed immediately. The intake wont be causing the issue yet at that low power level. I had a flexi intake with wire and it still twisted and did nasty things above 250rwkw.
  23. I would also change to a 3" hard intake pipe. Not sure what flexi hose you mean but most likely it will suck shut as you increase the power.
  24. Larger injectors, new turbo and tune!
  25. My thinking at the moment is whats the point in having these large turbos and then restricting them to 280-290rwkw. We would be better off with more responsive turbos that still make 280-290rwkw peak. The latest 3071 0.82 result from Hektik is excellent, full boost at 3600rpm and still makes 280rwkw.
