  3. Its all in the way you drive.... If you step out of a WRX and into a RWD skyline. Then go threw a corner as per normal you will get it sideways.... If you wanta drift then push it.... If you want to be fast dont accel through a corner. Brake before the corner and apply a little threw the corner, then once straight flaten it out again. Sideways is not fast, fun but not fast.... Do as i do, remember if you get the car sideways you are chewing money ($400 per type on the back of mine) so i simplly dont do it.... Wait for a race meet at your local race track. Put on a pair of stocko's and go have some fun....

(i said "Im sorry, have never done this before, i have not even looked under the bonnet of a car before" he said something like "So you one for them guys hey") Whats that mean???

  7. Sorry couldnt help myself... Title of the post made me do it... Black smoke.... ummmm piping could have a leak... but this usually happens when the piping has completlly blown off.... First fix the exhaust manifold then go from there... Fix all the visible signs... If oil is all over the place around the back of the turbo (dump pipe area) then dead turbo... (seals have let go).... The oil burning can also cause smoke of coarse, if you cant hear induction noise (ie. no piping let go) then replace exhaust manifold gasket as stated above. Then replace tubro.... This should be it.... If it still stutters, then rplace the AFM this is all the possible problems covered.... Should not cost too much.... Remember if it back fired badlly, it may have also back fired threw the intake as well, whcih is enough to bust a oild seal in the turbo...

  9. This is true.... Even with an avc-r (im the expert i rekon) you can only get down to 4psi.... Because for the electronic boost controller to work its needs presure to re-divert to the wastegate.... Then the tention on the spring decided what is the lowest psi setting... IE> If the spring was old and crap it may only take 4psi to push.... However if it were new and nice and tight then it may take 6psi to push it... Causeing the wastegate to open... Then bpsst will remain... Also with a busted wastegate (ie. wide open all the time) the car will still produce 4psi... (as i found out when it seized once, at least it siezed open and not closed.... Ummm)
  10. Ok... i re-read your post... Id say not a coil pack.... If revs are high but not going anywhere... Could be 2 things... 1. Clutch slipping 2. Timing You would know if ya clutch was stuffed cause you wouldnt be able to take off from a stand still properly.... Id say its timing.... its far too retarded.... Remember you computer retards the timing as nessary... Ie. When under load.... Disconnect your battery over night to reset the ECU... Try again the next day... If this goes on... Then get a mate with the same car and borrow his/her CAS and ECU. Swap them over and try again.... Im sure this is your issue...
  11. Miss firing is the most common outcome from a faulty coil pack... But on my last skyline.... A faulty coil pack and a busted bleed valve melted a piston.... Coil pack in 6th cyl failed.... Bleed valve had crap stuck in it... can went 30psi+ 6th filled with fuel and then the coil pack fired.... Blew the exhaust manifold off and bent the intake vavle when the piston came back up... With direct exposure to air the piston which was super hot at this stage cracked and no matter how fast you turn the key off the piston traveled a few more times rounding the edges... OK this is worst case..... But hey you could hit a pole... so this is not really a problem is it? LOL... Ok, Start the engine with the top cover removed.... Disconnect 1st coil pack... then plug it back in... If the idle dies and then recovers its not 1st. Now repeat this process all the way to the back... Until you hit a coil pack that when unpluged makes no difference... Theres ya faulty one...

  13. So im just looking for the best priced package... If im gonna spend $1000 with piping and fitting it myself why would i not just get it done at a shop??? If you did cooler piping and all the bits needed to fit for like $700 id be in...

  15. I found the bonnet release cable... But this is a Blitz AC Race series gadge which uses 3/8 vac piping not that little 2 mm plasic tube.... Gonna have to drill a hole... The main harness on a 33 goes through the firewall under the AC piping... wrong side of the engine bay... If i was to do this id have to run 4.5 metres of vac tube.... Not Cool

  19. So my question is how come your cooler costs $300 or 310 i got confused as u have 2 prices but anyways. How come the piping is so expensive.... Local performance shop wants $700 for a core and $250 for piping and install. That includes polishing core and end tanks??? I assume they just have expensive cores and make their money that way... I asked if they would plumb one of your cores and they laughed and told me if i wanted to take a chance then go for it, but they will not plumb it, because they dont trust them... Whats the go....

  21. I looked for the bonnet release... Mine in the inner guard... I even had the front left wheel off to find it.... Hang on i didnt check behind the fire matt stuff... Ill have a look see
