Yep! I love my 'dubs. I considered selling my Bora (the daily commuter) and getting a B5.5 W8 Passat but they were SO thirsty and were slower than my Bora, though would have had some 'wow' appeal.

This was just put on drive.com.au. 184kw! Theres no performance figures on the article It'd have to be under 6 sec's 0-100 though, right? Maybe if it has traction. This is obviously the baby brother to the RS which apparently doesn't arrive till 2016.

So, theres a few of us here who no longer have Japanese vehicles, so, lets see what you've got! I have two VWs; a B6 TDI Passat wagon and a Bora 4Motion V6. Both cars are very cool, I love them! The Bora has a surprising amount of squirt (150kw) and handles really well (I put Bilstein B8's in it.) The Passat is less lumber-like that I thought it would be. Its still very 'soft' in how it goes about things, but thats what makes it a perfect family car. Its totally unexciting. I'll post pics soon.

One of our likers on FB has provided this image of the possible NSW plates; I'm totally unconvinced by this. Absolutely can't see "I ❤️ JDM" on plates provided by the RTA.....

If this is true, its very very cool. I think they look awesome and I kinda feel they should have been here before the 'Aussie' range .... I wonder if we'll see the opposite problem to Euro plates on Japanese cars? Would you get Japanese plates for your car?

What? Are you about to tell me the Altimas in the V8's aren't Altimas?!? In seriousness, thats a bummer. I was hoping it was some king of an actual modified Passat chassis.... It appears (to me at least) that just building something with a tube frame chassis and a 'clip on' body is just too easy to do these days. As you said, I'm not taking away from the car, but I'd just like it to be more VW than it is.

I dont think it's an LS1, that might be too old now - might be an LS5 or whatever they're up to now. I dont know much about those engines.

So, Tanner Foust has handed back the keys for his Fords and Nissans and is now drifting in a Volkswagen Passat. Huh? Its a RWD, 700HP (900HP on nitrous) animal. I'd love to know whose engine or drivetrain is being used as this is the first V8 and RWD Passat that I've ever seen (I'm upset they didnt use the W8). And heres the video. What do you think?
