Hey guys, i will amend this with some more details, but all i want to say right now is we need to support this track. The poeple that run it are so nice! The track itself is nice, tight and small. it can be fast in spots and is very technically challenging! It have some nice height changes and hence sweeping turns that really test your abilities... And its cheap! check out the site for more details..MDTC website i am gonna be heading down there more and more!

hmmm re the above quote, i dont think they really factory in RPM to the water muchs quite as much as you say....i mean i could be wrong but i dont think they choos the bearings for a water pump based on rpm...they might but i doubt it. anyway my rb30 pump has not looked back one iota from day one... you know what, if i did the water pump again i would buy a genuine one, but looking back, my protex one had not missed a beat or leaked one mL of water/coolant

i think it all comes down to the store and also how you get on the with the guys that work there... i am currently a customer of pedders mascot and so am pretty happy with their service. sure it could be better but you cant be 'mates' with everyone and expect everything for free! (or discounted for that matter) i have been there 3 times now: first for a wheel alignment and 28point check... 2nd time to install a heap of JJR arms and wheel alignment, and thrird just now for some whiteline saybars, spanner check and wheel alignment. now they are not the cheapest but i have built up some repour with the guys and they know what im talking about so i think they veiw me with some respect and hence do a good job and explain things. they would get so many schmucks going there and would be sick of all the fully sik kids say this and that and blah balh blah...they probably get kicks out of all the bullshit they spin...even though their slogan is 'no bull' like anyone, if you give them the respect to begin with and actually have some detailed conversations fisrt, you'll probably get the service you want. otherwise you are just anyother customer that doesnt know what they are talking about. any after some conversation you'll also quickly learn how good a store they are... i wouldnt think of them as a chain, they are a franchise so will differ greatly from store to store just every other mechanic... i have still yet to find anyone that is as fastidious as i am anyway and probably never will...so you just have to learn to deal with it or do it yourself. there are jsut some tasks i dont have the time for or the facilities... and i even have my own factory!

well unfortuently for me (and without notification or any kind of contact from MDTC, despite sending emails etc) tomorrow is off as the track is closed today and tomorrow! But they are open on Thursday! why do these things always happen...why change it with out letting people know if they have told you they are making the trip downd!?!?!? Seriously...i probably cant get thursday off work now and mr freind cant make it as he has to work and this had messed his day up now... anyway enough of my ranting...etc

its not a event, just their normal private track time...anyone can go... i gave the guys a call a few days ago and they are the nicest people. i'm very excited to go!

hey dude, do you have the factory turbo heat shield and bracket?

i left that one bolt out, its smaller, M4 or 5 i think, not M6 or 8. has never leaked at all.

what do you need to know? if you post me a pic of your engine i can show you where it all goes...

i bought one from tridon that is a nissan one, but i think it doesn't read right as in not quite the right temp...i guess thats why its listed for other nissans but not skylines??? it does have the exact same plug and look though. and its red too!

where was this dry solder joint?

hey guys, i have this small concern for this noise i occasionally hear when my engine is really really cold. obviously now that winter is here it has started to occur once again. i have not heard this noise since last winter. i never hear it in summer, autumn or spring. i have checked my bearings for AC and PS, they run smooth and don't feel like they are on the way out... i do feel a little scared that this could be pointing to an engine bearing... the engine usually doesn't make the noise the second you start it, it will appear within 5-10 secs and then kind of comes and goes a bit while the engine warms up...once above 30-40deg its completely gone.

i must admit, although i am extreemly tired right now, the rocket thing made me laugh and laugh and laugh...not at the dude who did the spelling miostake, more just the fact that it was quite funny! i do love this forum and the people in it!

ok all i can say is buy a plazmaman if you want a front plenum...simply a work of art and so worth the money. i am never buying cheap parts again!
