  1. ok so i think its important to understand a few things here: from what we know the vtc is in an 'off' state or 'on' state. hence it would adjust from say 0deg to 15deg yes? (i think its advance yes?) so based on that then by adjusting the cam gear your adjustment range is now say +4deg and +19deg when 'off' or 'on' respectively... hence this all makes quite a bit of sense then... clearly from what i have seen now, the greddy gear would be useful as it allows more adjustment range and also have the markings to assist. i have advanced it a little now and i'll report back i dont have and EX gear at the moment. when i pulled mine off it was a tiny bit retarded...
  2. well how about that, after i took the gear of, yes it is adjustable. i guess the only advantage of the greddy one is it has markings... so i now pose the question: on an RB25DET is there any advantage to advancing or retarding the intake cam???
  3. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Greddy-Adju...sQ5fAccessories you recon its a good thing?
  4. Hello all, im after an RB25DET motor in good condition (stock or rebuilt, depending on price). mine is stratting to show signs of letting go so while i have some time off in summer i think i'll do the changeover myself. I have all the manifolds (intake and exhuast), turbo, ecu, etc so just really need the block (with bits inside), head and thats about it i think... Let me know what you have and we'll go from there... BTW im right near the airport in Sydney and i dont want to travel for miles...ie interstate.
  5. does it come with a sandwich plate?
  6. i have a question here, when did you change to the justjap radiator? i am having similar problems, but they only started when i changed to the justjap 40mm radiator. i run a tridon 77deg themostat. R33 gtst
  7. i have tried and i am slowing getting rid of every cheap shit part on my car... horses for courses i guess... i just dont want cheap shit anymore....you do things two too many times. its all about personal standrads too...some people dont appreciate fine food...and well thats fine too. but i like quality...thats all. best of luck with the plenum install...
  8. just do it up tight...very simple
  9. are you passionate about your car and parts you put on it??? if you are then done put the cheap crap on. i have been down that path and will never buy another shit part again....you will just do it twice...maybe even three... either get agreddy one or a plazmaman one...simple. i put a plazma one on and its amazing. plus it actually fits!!!!
  10. kaikimoto all the way!
  11. hey dude, you still got the nismo fpr?
  12. Hi guys, i cant seem to find direct answers to these two questions: (re RB25DET in R33 GTST) 1. when on idle, what is you vacuum reading in the manifold? i just was to get some comparisons in relation to mine...please also state ios you are running stock gear or any mods that might effect this reading 2. if i upgrade my fuel pump and keep the stock FPR, will the pressure in the rail rise from standard at all? i have some interesting reading in this link...just wondering your thoughts? http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/rb-engin...stable-fpr.html
  13. when you are decelerating the injectors are not firing and the engine is just a big air pump... no 'bang bang'
  14. if its not making the noise when slowing down then its your injectors. they are not firing when you are on decel.
