  1. S13 is short nose, I just put one in my car. Pretty sure GTR is 6x1, GTSt is 5x1 and the S13 diff I got was 3x2 (which is apparently rather weak and the first thing people upgrade on those cars). You can buy brand new axle flanges for the diff from Nissan, my Nismo 2way came with a pair with the ABS teeth. I believe for strength upgrade, change out the whole hub/axle/flanges out of a GTR and with the GTR centre if it's still OK.
  2. I can't hear mine over my injectors ticking..
  3. I would be budgeting 20k at least, not including purchase of the car.
  4. Studs being the top and bottom shock mounts?
  5. What car, what engine, what application, how far are you willing to go, how deep are your pockets? All questions only you can answer.
  6. Yeah well I've seen a fair few instances of dickheads on cruises, so I too like to be on the ball
  7. Booker Noel or something, some JB stuff, it's in a wine bottle with a cork and wax.. looks nasty
  8. I always bring my mechanic.. he can navigate and if anything breaks.. and we usually leave the smoking till we get home
  9. Which pits? Midland is my local and they were very nice to deal with.
  10. Depends on your setup I guess.. I'm using an RB25 turbo with an Rb20 actuator so base boost is 10psi. If your actuator is an RB25 item, 22% is only going to give you an extra ~1psi. Trial and extra in 5% increments to get to your desired boost, once there, if it's not holding boost or creeps up by redline, back off the SET % (say 5%) and start increasing the gain in 2% increments. It's pretty much all got to be WOT, put it in 3rd or 4th and wind it up from ~2000rpm.. long empty roads are you friend (read: ahem.. dyno or track)
  11. The lack of consistancy amazes me! ossie's having major dramas, flake is flyin' easy, I got my car over the pits with a twincam 30 piece of piss and have seen many stupid cars make it over successfully (make engine for example when it was sporting twin 2540s in a commodore made it over no dramas)
  12. You need to get off that leash mate!
  13. How long is a piece of string?
  14. OK, my settings are 22% SET, 7% GAIN, SET GAIN is set to 9psi. 22% SET gives me 12psi. The thing to remember is that GAIN not only affects the boost curve (you use it if you are tapering off or spiking) but it will affect the overall boost (as you increasing gain you will increase overall boost so once you get it holding boost nicely you will need to lower the SET value). It is a good idea to only go a little over base boost to start with, then get it holding boost nicely with the GAIN setting, once it holds boost you can pump up the SET value a bit. So now you have it running the boost you want it's time to play with the SET GAIN value, as mentioned above, this is when it will open the wastegate. You basically keep increasing this value in say, 0.5psi increments until it starts to spike (i.e. will say spike to 13-14psi then sit at 12psi) then back it off 1psi or so. You are essentially trying to find the fastest spooling time without it spiking. Hope that makes sense.. I literally just woke up!
  15. Water pump started leaking so no, won't be there
  16. Do you know how much R&D went into those things? it was no backyard slapjob. BTW, this is the engine in question: Powertec V8 And they put them in these: Radical SR8
  17. Still DD till Sunday night I believe.
  18. Yeah I've got one of those from fatz.. had two tiny pinprick leaks on the upper front corner (in the welds) which I wasn't very happy about but not much I could do, just put some silicon on them and she'll be right. I am however having slight over heating problems under certain conditions now that I didn't have before, new thermostat, water pump and radiator cap on their way so I'll put those on before I make any claims about the radiator. Most others have good experiences so I hope that it's the water pump/thermostat/radiator cap that is the cause and haven't wasted money on the radiator.
  19. OK I'll look into the CAMS license as it sounds more versatile, but if I can't attend a nolimits event, is an AASA license able to be got on the day at the next SAUWA event at AHG?
  20. What does it mean if it's leaking from that hole?
  21. Brad, finally got my ass into gear and signed up to SAUWA (lodged the form and paid my fee yesterday), now I need to figure out what competition license to get.. and how to go about it.. help!
  22. Was it blue? I remember an old blue volvo station wagon with a v8 back in the blue light drags days, though I think it was a 253.. certainly different, I'll give it that much
  23. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THAT WAS YOU!! bastard
  24. I do believe they are also 7.5" wide as opposed to 7" wide. I have 34gtt rims for daily driving and I run 225/45/17s all round.
